I noticed you are now one point behind. I'm sure you'll tie my score here in no time. I'll be curious to see if you can surpass it. I really can't see any way to go faster on that level. At least I've held that high score for at least 1.5 months. EDIT: and I just beat your Silver Frog score by 7 points. Still not a perfect run for me, either. But I have to try and distract you from Stone Monkey.
Yesterday i finished the Hat Levels! Awesome the level design on silver... and really liked the surprise on gold... at least for me thats enough, never wanted to compete in the leaderboards, though i got the crown in a "honest" way (without reseting the leadeboard), i consider myself ranked well enough (inside de top 200 ), got the items, achievements, etc... As the new levels are gonna be easier, i think i will not play as much as i played till now, but i actually prefer these kind of levels... Plan to buy the DLC just to support the developers, and in some way "fund" their future games... as i bought Hook Champ at release day, i only paid 1 dollar, so 2 more is a more reasonable price (the game worth much more)... hope they make an excellent sale in the release of the newer title also... On a side note, i find funny that many people complains how Golden Bull is very hard, and nowadays i can pass trough that level on the first try even skull isnt so difficult anymore... what i mean is that it is incredible how you get better on the game as you play, how de gameplay and the level design are very balanced, and when you fail its because you made a mistake, not that the game is cheap...

If your Hook Champing takes place in a cave, I guess that explains why your scores are rarely submitted to the weekly leaderboards, usually just the OF ones (seriously, what gives with that?)? That was one of the first issues that led to the accusations and paranoia spiralling out of control. I wish we could do that. At very least, I wish it'd pop up '#1 OpenFeint score!' or whatever at the end of a run, like it does with local and global scores. Not that I've seen that particular message.. for several months. Thanks to a certain 2 unnamed individuals. Sorry man. I just started trying speed runs on Silver Hat, and managed to get #3 all-time, which I imagine is where I'm going to stay for the forseeable future (unless qpawn's scores are wiped, and his account deleted, and his fingers fall off).
Man, I swear I do my best hooking when I'm on the toilet... Just beat the silver hatbox for the first time! It's pretty hard, but now that I beat it it doesn't seem as difficult. I did miss some gems though, only got #2 local... gonna have to find where those are. It's tough though, since you can't get past that double rocketboot part with hookbot to explore. Well, I got all the hats except the one you get when you beat gold hatbox, now I'll have money in the bank for the next wave of hats, muahahaha!!!!
nope,I noticed that the amount of money you get from the completion of a level for the first time and for beating the dev score is always equal to the number of coins in the level, so, because you get 1000 coins at the end of the Gold Hat level, the there must be 1000 coins total in the level, whether they can be collected or not doesn't matter, (I asked kepa about it and he said that they were uncollectable so that farming coins wouldnt be too easy, 15 runs through of the gold level would get you enough money to buy everything in the game) I would like it if there was a special money grabbing level that was made specifically for getting money for a really expensive item that would only be unlocked after getting EVERYTHING else
Yeah, I'd be curious, too. However, after thinking about it, I'm guessing the reason is that qpawn doesn't want to pollute the weekly boards with his insane scores. That makes sense. I always feel a bit bad when the boards get reset, and I immediately take over with my high scores. But, on the OF note, I find it so much easier to look at the weekly boards to quickly assess where I stand. Regardless of that (because I know that won't change back to a global board), an easy OF compare, notice, etc. would be really cool. qpawn, good job on finally tying my Stone Monkey score. I'd be happy if you call it quits and leave it at a tie.

You know, that was something that's missing from the jump from OF 2.3 to OF 2.4. In 2.3, you could just touch the bar right below your name to compare things with a friend in pretty much any category. It was so simple, and worked so well. I like everything else better about 2.4, but they either omitted this feature or I haven't figured out the new way to do it in 2.4. It's really sorely missed. OMG qpawn, we are very close. I can sense it. I live really really close to Arnold. Heh, I love that guy. I want to BE that guy.

That's fairly accurate. I let a few scores appear to show you I wasn't using some sort of OpenFeint hack. Also, not many others can top mikeg123 on those boards. I'm taking a vacation away from Stone Monkey. But now you top Silver Frog? Why a level with so many blocks?? I hate blocks!
Yeah, that seems kind of odd that they removed that feature. That would be perfect. The other thing is: would it be possible to submit TIMES and scores to OF? For some reason I really like to compare individual times for a level. I kind of use that as my marker over just total score. The score works fine, but there is something about knowing whether you are a few seconds off, or a few hundreths of a second off.
Gotcha, so beating it once nets you the coins and you're done. That works, I was hoping that it wouldn't be something you can do over and over, or it'd make it way too easy to earn a ton of money. I didn't notice that I got a bunch of coins after beating the stage, but in the shop my bank seems to have gotten around 1k coins.
So how do you prevent your scores from being submitted to the weekly boards, but still go to OF? I turned on airplane mode this morning when I played Silver Frog, and of course it never submitted to OF, even when I turned wireless back on. Luckily, I was able to top my best, again. I tried Stone Monkey this morning, and I couldn't even break below 46 seconds, sigh. Why Silver Frog? Because I think I was 200 points off of your score, so I thought I'd give it another shot. I can't stand blocks either, but I still didn't make it through all of them cleanly. That's why I know there is a higher score to be had. At this point I'm looking at levels where I am 100-200 points away from your scores. That pretty much means I am missing something big, or doing something that isn't as efficient as it could be. Other levels, like the Wimpy levels, where I am 1-2 points away are kind of hopeless for me right now.
I have "Don't Submit" selected under "Weekly Scoreboards" in the Hook Champ Settings. The downside is that it also hides the global scores until you enable them again. OpenFeint is not affected. Silver Frog is a level I knew would come back to haunt me. My top run wasn't as pretty as it could have been. There's still plenty of time to be milked outta that level. But it's not one of those fun levels to play. You might be able to hold onto the top spot for awhile until I build up the courage to face my frustrations.
I guess I could live with the top Silver Frog score for a bit. I also just improved on Golden Frog. I'm less than 100 points from you, but better than the 300 off I was previously. I can't stand that level. I know I'd get much closer to you if I could get the coins at the end more efficiently. That water does not like me. Oh, and one more thing. I was wondering if I could get a copy of the blue-eyed HAL. I'd love to make that my OF avatar pic. If you don't feel like parting with that, I understand. I'm no good at photoshop, that's why I'm asking.
