Lol I no, I really just don't care about qpawn anymore. It was a good mystery at first but now it's just gotten old.
Kepa-- Can we expect global leaderboards for the J. Gore levels? It'll be interesting to see if/how shots fired, Furries killed, etc. are integrated into the scoring. Also, I may have im'd this already but your score on the 2012 running game is most impressive. Hook on.
Looky who we have here... Howdy, all. I thought I'd swing by and say hello. (bad pun intended) It all started back in October when I first purchased the game. I quickly shot up the leaderboards and was living the dream. Then my world was shattered when I soon found out that the leaderboards were to be cleared on a weekly basis. I cried more than I did during The Notebook. I wasn't as concerned with making it back atop the boards as I was with trying to compete with the top scores of all time. So I took a break from the Global Leaderboard in hopes that one day an All-Time Leaderboard would be implemented. I forced family and friends to use their birthday wishes to make an update happen. Seven unhappy relatives later... Boom! OpenFeint! I was back in the game! My local scores were fairly high already, so I figured I could pretty much run the levels with my same strategy and get a good rank. I climbed the charts and then..... conspiracy. People started to become suspicious of this qpawn character. Who was he? How did he beat the top scores so quickly? How did he get to be so handsome? For one thing, I started to check the forums more often than my email. If someone posted that they beat qpawn by x number of points, I knew it was time to put my life on hold and get to work. It helps that I only own an iPhone, a cardboard box, and a can of beans. I'd kiss my girlfriend goodbye and engulf myself in the world of Hook Champ... (and by girlfriend I mean sock puppet with lipstick and sassy attitude.) I'd figure out new and innovative ways to rush through a level. An hour or two later, I'd be satisfied. That's what she said. When Kepa started getting questions about the validity of my scores, I sent him a private message assuring him that my scores were indeed legit. Too legit, in fact... too legit to quit. He did some investigating of his own and came to the same conclusion. I told him I could even videotape myself playing through a level dressed as Pee Wee Herman and put it on YouTube. I whipped up a fancy little suit in Photoshop and sent it his way. He posted the image several days later and added some fuel to the fire. Around the water cooler, talks of qpawn being an automated program to defeat its enemies were plentiful. Not wanting to let people believe that Kepa would allow a bot to lock off the number one spot on the leaderboards, we set a date to finally unveil the mystery that is qpawn. So here I am.
Yea, it couldn't be a robot trying to take over the world be starting out small by taking over some weekly leaderboards on a game called hook champ.
Finding out that somebody is just a human being is never that exciting... that is, unless it's my blow-up doll.
Hello, qpawn! Glad to finally see you on here. I'm the one that called you out in the beginning to get this all started. I originally believed that you were a human, and just really good. But I guess the whole secrecy thing threw me. What I don't understand, is why didn't you just respond to that old post in the first place? Oh, and the only high score I have held on to is Stone Monkey. Still beating you by 2. You better say goodbye to your "girlfriend" again. =)
I'm flattered. You have haunted a few of my dreams, too. I'm sure you'll have Stone Monkey in no time now.
Hello qpawn and thanks for getting in the mix! I had a ton of fun with the whole mystery, but am gald it's come to an end. If I could just pull myself away from my sock puppet girlfriend, I might be able to obsessively pursue scores as well. But even then, I'm sure I'm no match for the skills contained within the true elite. So now just out of curiosity, is there any other games that you love playing?
