I can't see myself getting back into this game. Since discovering I had to re-beat all Hat levels, I was discouraged. Then I saw that I don't have Gunny's cannon [1.2k] There is no way in hell I am grinding Stone Rat again for that money.

Hmm, seems like everything about the new game is supposed to be better. I don't know how that could be possible, seeing as how Hook Champ is the best game ever, but I have my hopes up. I would love to beta-test for the new game. Hit me up about any details, because I'm not taking no as an answer!
Thanks, man. You need to play with Jake and have fully maxed rocketboots and hot pants (and probably shotgun as well). There are three ring sections in the first half of the level. As others have noted, timing and practice are the most important things. The second set, being the most narrow, is probably the hardest. I played the level so much that once I had that set down, the third set of rings threw me off. I'd say it's good to get a long fast jump right before the rings and only hook every other one (until the second half of the third set, which might require hooking every ring). Once you get past the rings, the level eases up a little but you have to save your hot pants for a wall of flame and two rocketboots for a section where there is nothing to hook on to. That's the reason maxed Jake is pretty much required. Good luck and keep trying it 'til you get the rings down. Hook on.
