How come I can't view past challenges in OF? When I go to the challenge section and touch "history" it says, there are no pending challenges for this game or something like that. Does the game store or challenge reports or not?
Oh yeah, I forgot. I do only use 3 shotgun blasts on the chaser (same as you, zoo): 1.) At the start. 2.) Right when I hit the green section after the bats. I cut this one really close. 3.) Lava section I use my fourth blast to collect the two rows of diamonds right before the bats. I originally just continued swinging, but I would either miss a diamond, or I'd touch down briefly and slow myself down. So I now get right on top, fire the shotgun, slide across and get all of the diamonds and continue on my merry way to the bats.
Hit 3rd on the Grand Total scoreboard! Highest rank I'll ever get, as beating qpawn or mikeg 123 is impossible. SunriseMoon, can't help you too much on Rat level(I played gold to beat once, but havent gone back to up high scores since then). On gold skull, my first recommendation is just keep playing it. I couldn't beat it for a long time, simply because I would either get nervous and make a mistake, or, especially early on, just didn't know where to do what. So part of it is just keep trying till youre comfortable doing it. Past that, if you mention what part of the lever youre stuck at I can give more detailed advice.
mikeg or zoo, I also end up using three, but quick question, if you dont mind. When you're going for those first gems, how do you manage to control your angle? I use my first shotgun blast during that jump to smooth out my angle. When I use it before that and just use the jump boots to get the gems I always hit rocks and get slowed down too much on the descent.
I just use the rocket boots. After the initial start, I think there are 4 blocks of various sizes that I swing off of. It is the fourth (larger) block that I swing out a little, then hit the rockts. If I do that right, I come right beneath the block with the gems. I collect the gems, and swing off of that. I originally used a shotgun blast there, but tried it without, and found that the rocket boots worked just fine. You have to play with the timing of when you fire them. Oh, and good job on making 3rd overall!
I just use a rocket boot jump too - as I recall you swing off a larger block with one of those signs/patterns on it, then drop down to a smaller block. I use the jump just before the smaller block which shoots you straight into the gems, then quickly hook the edge of the block above to propel myself forwards.
Personally, I think the easiest way is to play Silver Skull with Hookbot and his block buster powerup thing. It's boring, though. I found it more enjoyable to concentrate on trying to get the #1 global score on a level, or beat all the local scores, and before you know it you'll have accumulated plenty of coins. Shame there's no way to access the hundreds of gems tucked away on Golden Hat.
Music in Hook Champ Ideas Check out this album I got from Amon26, the same person who created the Hook Champ Theme Song. I think that some of these should be in-game music, like Fire on the Moon. Swarthy Vector would be good for Bull, Skull or some other hard and spooky level, because it's an intense song to go with intense levels. Two for the Suckas would be good for Wimpy, because it's sort of mocking you for just starting out, and challenging you to get further. Feint would be excellent for Forbidden Hats. It has sort of a mysterious feel to it. Zero Hour would be good for all the Monkey Maps, since it has sort of a loose feel like a Monkey would feel. An Uncomfortable Job would be good for Frog or Rat, because it sort of feels like what a dirty environment would feel like. Androidgony would be great for an epic map, like Forbidden Hats maybe, or Rat, Skull, Bull. If I could only pick 2 that would repeat on all levels, it would be: Fire on the Moon and Swarthy Vector. I also think that Sailor Take Warning and Stay would be great songs to put for the shop or map select screen music. You can check out his myspace here. Umm, in the Silver Hat... on the platform you stand on, there are 4 gems beneath it. So just go below the platform you are standing on, grab the gems and repeat.
True, this is probably an easier way. When I was playing endlessly for coins, the Hat levels only existed in Kepa's mind.
I'll give you a hint. Almost all of the loot in bronze hat is underneath tunnel-like areas. I believe there's only one "loot pocket" which is above the "normal" path through the level.
most coins in bronze hat are : in the word "rocketcat" underneath __ | . | shaped structures (the . is a diamond) when the blocks turn into 1, 2 or 3 width walls, near the end, there are coins sandwiched between the layers at the end, there is a large amount underneath the main path I think there are 80 in total...
There's one more "loot pocket" if you take a peek below before you hit the blocks that spell out "Rocketcat".
Hey I need to get the Challenge achievement if any of you are willing to help me out my OF is SirDarkened. Also the Silver Hat Box is impossible with Hook Bot. I will have to practice with Jake more ;(. I only use Gunny... sigh
Omfg...I have to re-beat all the Hat levels because I had to restore last night..I'm going to kill something.
What prevents us from doing more music for Hook Champ is that 10 meg limit. If your app, zipped, is over 10 MB, people can't download it over cellular. Right now we're at 8.6 MB. This should be good for several more content updates, or a single new song.
