Once you get the rings down, it isn't too bad. I don't know if I can ever play that level again. The only reason was so I could get my score posted to OF.
I spend a while just trying to beat one of your scores, how do you get all those scores on all those maps? Seriously, it's insanity.
I just got #3 in Bronze Monkey, but there's no way I can beat your score mikeg... Are you even human?
Yes, I am human. At least I hope so. The scores have come from playing way too much. What's scarier is that I can't even come close to some of my scores. I guess there is a bit of luck in playing, too. Plus the qpawn character really pushed me to play a lot of the levels. EDIT: also the Bull and Monkey levels have been my favorites.
Cool. The Monkey levels are fun, however, I can't seem to beat the Golden Bull with anyone but Jake or Hookbot. Anyone done it with Gunny or Zelle?
I always play Golden Bull with Gunny. I like her 4 shotgun blasts to help me through the ending crumbling blocks.
I just had kind of a quick world tour and got in the top 20 in like half the maps... now I'm #7 in grand total scores on Openfient! Woot woot!
I can't seem to beat it with her. Also, did anyone else get ripped off by the description of Zelle? I thought this was an early ticket to Gunny's abilities, considering I was still stuck on the Golden Bull. Man, I was wrong. OMGZ awesome! Good job!
Sure, once you push yourself to beat all the hat levels without Hookbot, the Golden Bull level seems like nothing.
I can't even do the stone hat without Hookbot. O_O The monster catches up with me around 50%, after I've used all 4 shotgun blasts.
I'm sure you've heard by now, but the Stone Hat is the hardest. If you can beat that with Gunny/Zelle, you're pro.
Haha, well Monkey levels are fun, they're kind of like the more difficult version of the basic Hook Champ levels. I really don't like Bull, although I do love Silver Bull because of the secrets. I would have to say my favorite maps are the Frogs and maybe Monkeys/Bats. But Frog is my favorite, simply because I can get the highscores with Hookbot. (thanks to his block smashing ability and rechargeable Jets) I love Bat levels because there are so many cool secrets in those maps. Monkeys... because it's just swinging and nothing else to it.
I like Bull and Monkey because they are geared towards fast runs. I have come to appreciate both Frog and Bat. I do like the secret passages in Bat, but the bats and water (in Frog) can drive me mad sometimes. I also really like the Skull levels - especially Golden Skull once I figured out the ending. EDIT: I'd still like to see super-hard levels. Yes, harder than the hat levels, but I don't think there is any chance of that.
Yea i had to beat that level with hookbot because it was so hard but for the 2nd hat level i beat it first time with that girl. Edit: My 3,000 post! w00t!
I'll let you in on a little secret most highscorers don't want you to know. On any level, especially the bat levels, if you see a cave sickle, that means you should drop down and there will be gems/coins/secret pathway for you to take. Go try the Gold Bat level, and you'll see what I mean.
That is good to watch out for those on the ceiling, but the hard part is finding the most efficient way to go down. You can lose a lot of time if you don't go down right.
