THIS GAME IS EPIC. I have had it for a month and a half and it is one of a very few games on my iPhone I can't put down. But even though I've had it for this long now, I can't beat the golden skull. Is it even possible with hookbot?
Is there a way to turn the ghost off? It seems like having the ghost there is going to make me feel like hurrying, but I don't really want to hurry. This is one of those games where I would like to take my time. It's not a dealbreaker if you can't turn the ghost off, but it would be cool if there were an option for it. Is there a way?
Yes, but easiest with Jake. Put on some hot pants yo! There is a way to turn off the ghost in the Options! You can also replace the ghost with a very simple vertical line that does not distract as much.
Are you talking about the chaser? There is no way to disable the chaser, unless you purchase Hookbot.
I tried maxed out hot pants without much luck. I get to a certain point in the level and then hookbots thrusters don't help anymore. I hate the chaser. HATE IT. If anyone could post a Golden skull HOOKBOT guide that would be a real help!
I beat it recently with hookbot, but I only did it once. I'm afraid to go back cause that level drove me nuts. It can be done, just keep at it. I'm with you about the chaser-that's why I've been using hookbot for every level since I got him. I'm guessing you pretty much have to use specific characters to get through the hats? I've read that a couple times. Going to have to page back a bit to see who to use for what. Hookbot is impossible on the hat levels it seems. The chaser is soo fast I can't fathom beating it with that thing up your ass.
The 3.5 update (which sounds like it should show up shortly) will remove the chaser from the Hat levels when you use Hookbot. However, you won't unlock the special hats when using Hookbot. EDIT: quick clarification - you won't unlock the hats for the Hat levels when using Hookbot.
Yeah I'm aware, I think I might beat it with hookbot initially then go back and use others to get the hats. I like to use hookbot to explore levels unfettered and look in every nook and cranny. There's a ton of them in the hat levels obviously so I'm sure that will take a while.
You only beat it with hookbot once? Yikes, my main problem is the first large gap with the chain of floating coins (the colum has four skulls hanging from it) see the thrusters don't go far enough to make it to the other side.....
Yea just the once, haven't been back since. That was yesterday though so it's not like it's been forever since I beat it.

I'm loving the update to Hookbot, the new paint job gives him the real immunity feel that was intended in the first place. I went ahead and played Gold Rat with him, and wow I didn't realize there were so many secret gems in that map. It's also great for those people that can't get past Skull or Bull, because I know that I spent many hours just trying to beat those, and with Hookbot it won't be a problem. But it's not overpowering, because it's difficult to use Hookbot to get Global Highscores.
Yeah, now I can play the Hat levels again, since the scores are saved in OF. Too bad I probably won't match my local highs. EDIT: scratch that, already set a #1 local for myself on Stone Hat. EDIT: @Kepa, I don't know if this would be classified as a bug, but it looks like high scores are only submitted to OF if it is your local #1 score, right? I just got #9 local on Bronze Hat, but I'm still unranked in OF. That is going to make it extra hard for me to get my scores posted. I'm guessing there is no way around this right now, but a "clear" local leaderboard option for a particular level would be handy right now.
For the life of me I cannot figure out how to send someone a challenge. I go into open fient look at my friends and don't see the option. Do they have to be on playing Hook Champ at that time?
Well, they have to have Hook Champ. Pick a level, and instead of pressing "Go!", pick VS. On a side note, I just played The Stone Hatbox with Hookbot to find all the secret gems... There's 100 loot total! WOW!
