I dont know why people worry about builds.io possibly not being around in the future, yeah thats a chance but theres also a huge chance that any app you buy wont be around in the near future
Provenance is awesome, just installed it and was Zeldaing away in no time, InternatIonal Superstar Soccer brought back some memories as well. Unfortunately I snagged Homebrew before I heard about builds.io. Well worth the $10 IMO.
Oh come on ! 'We' dont want a refund, you seem to. I think you expect way too much from these emulators. When an emulator arrives on the app store IF you buy it theres a near 99% chance it'll be taken off the app store just like all past emulators have. You seemed to expect updates for this app and more ! That was never going to happen. Claim the money back if you want but i'm grateful to the devs for these hidden emulators. You must have known what you were getting when you bought it. Next time a hidden emulator arrives please do not buy it.
I knew it was going to be removed like all of the emulators. I even said it and said this won't get updated to "fix" the 8.3 problem. Heck, I think everyone in this thread said the same thing.
At some point in the future when ifunbox or whatever can access 8.3 (or higher) then its a decent app. If you put a lot of roms on it its a pain going through each one but not bad to put your favourites on. Plus if you didnt have any of the emulators anyway then this could be a very good app (as long as youre not on 8.3 !) Floppy Cloud is another good one, obviously off the app store now but i'm quite happy having these emulators in case builds.io stops working so i have most of the emulators i want in some way. I may go jailbroken in the near future once we get that for the next OS as i am missing out on PC Engine/Atari 2600 games. Have the Activision/Atari apps but they're missing most of my favourites The old PC Engine app i had which i paid for some of the games doesnt work anymore. So i went 'legal' there and now its no more !
I can play my favorite games on iOS8.3, using iBackupBot; procedure is as follows. 1. creating a backup file using iTunes. 2. load backup file with iBackupBot, copy ROM image files in the Documents folder of Homebrew Indie Games. 3. use iTunes to restore.
So, are you performing a full device restore from a backup? If so, that sounds like a lot of waiting for some ROMs. Definitely good that you've managed to find a workaround, though. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you all for explaining the way on how to get the roms to work within this app. I'd like to thank TA for doing a front page talk about it. I have tried over and over to get Gridlee to work, and I still can't find everything to get it working. Thanks again the TA crew/group, DBrown
For Gridlee the main issue is the right romset. You only use 0.139 romset. Once you have those you should be fine
It will always work, you just won't be able to side load roms into the app through iexplorer/ifunbox. I still have "Slider" a gpsphone gba emulator that snuck into the app store 3 years ago.
Would something like the "Opener" app work potentially? http://appshopper.com/utilities/opener-‒-open-links-in-apps
Slider I have slider too but the emulator will not work since iOS 8.0 .... So u are wrong by saying it will always work
