I just found that half of my home button (the left) doesn't work. Sometimes. It's kind of random. It'll work sometimes and other times it doesn't. would a restore from backup help? also, my ipod has been really laggy with my multitask bar empty. would the restore w/backup work for that? IK it would help with my 3 some gigs of other. :p

I had a similar problem with my Home button requiring several presses to register. Sent it in to Apple, got a new one...

Yes, if I were you phattestfatty, I would send for a new one and ten sell it at full price, and wait for the 5th gen itouch.

I sometimes have to press the home button two or three times to register but have yet to do anything about it.

alright, thanks guys. Not gonna send in my ipod though. IDK how I could live without it.:p and I go to nerd camp for 3 weeks in less than a week, so I kinda need it atm. I'll try a restore from backup soon and see if it works.

If you jailbreak, search up a package in cydia called activator.

I am on that same boat right now. I need to do so before my warrenty is up, but A) I am too lazy to take it to my nearest Apple store, and B) I couldn't live without my iPod.

Given that though, it's becoming increasingly and increasingly more and more annoying trying to press the button severeal times and waiting for it to possibly work correctly. Bleh. I'm taking it this weekend >.<

I have no idea how fast these things are in the US, but the time it took for me to send my iPod in and get a new one back (both via mail) in the UK was only five days. Great service.

Three weeks. Five days? If the service here was like that, I'd actually buy warranty for my consoles. Shit.

My Xbox 360 replacement was 10 days. Hooray for tiny countries! :D
