Well, we'll probably just find another translator and redo it altogether. Thanks for noticing all this. Now I just wonder if other languages are just as badly translated...
Sam, I've changed the name to "Hipsta Chez - È un gioco intelligente e coinvolgente" (according to Google Translate). Please let me know if this makes sense.
Still crashes when I tap on Tutorial, but the actual gameplay appears to be stabilized. Thanks for your quick response and attention! Very nice game you have here.
We are actually thinking of releasing an update to support everything we have to support. I hope we'll be able to do that sooner rather than later. Glad you still like the game.
Yes! I think this game would do very well again, as "match" games as original as this are much needed nowadays.
So what would you say the chances are of an update definitely happening? And if so, is there a rough timeframe? Edit: any progress on this possible update?
I just came here to let anyone still interested know that we have finally managed to issue an update, and I'm so glad to see that people still care for our little game! Thank you! We haven't made any money from this game during all this time, and it was hard to work on the new version, since all three of us are quite busy with work and personal lives. But then we saw some download spikes in China in May, and it gave us additional motivation to save it. — We have renamed the game back to the original name — Hipster Chess. After we released it in 2012, some publishers told us that chess is a tough sell, that most people are afraid of chess, and that gave us the idea to rename it to Hipsta Chez. We did hate the name, however, so in this version decided to return to the original. — We have removed game modes with time limit, since it was intended mostly for motivating people to buy unlimited game mode, but it didn't work anyway. So now the game is not limited in time. — We did add a banner at the bottom of the game screen to generate some income, from my experience it's about $0.50 to $5.00 a day, so I hope you guys are not disappointed by that. We added ability to remove ads for $0.99, and anyone who bought unlimited game unlock before can remove banners for free (it's the same purchase, AppStore won't charge twice). — We completely replaced all in game music. Now it's more professional and much nicer overall, in my opinion. — We have also localized the game to a ton of languages: German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Russian. This was especially tough, since all buttons and most of the text in game has been originally done with images. — Previous AppStore version had broken achievements for quite a while now. In this version, obviously, achievements system is fully operational, and I believe it's still quite engaging and interesting way to motivate people to continue playing. — Changed the icon to something slightly more modern. I hope everyone who liked or still likes the game enjoys this update. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to let us know. We do not have much resources timewise, but we'll try to do something, if we can.
Thank you very much for doing the update with your limited resources! This is an example of what makes mobile gaming so great. This is one of my favorites since my first iPhone 4s. I hope that maybe it will get rediscovered, and that the ads help with some revenue or you get some removal purchases. Still to this day match games are alive and well, anddespite tons of chess apps, yours is the only one like this, using match mechanics. I can only think of two other games that tried this.
