Highscore/Leaderboard and Social Integration

Discussion in 'Public Game Developers Forum' started by angelsfan27vg, May 3, 2009.

  1. I have been looking around for methods of cheaply integrating leaderboards and social interaction between users. So far I have found only two options: OpenFeint and iPhoneLB. Does anyone know which one is better? Are there other more customizable options?

It is not hard to write your own leaderboard. I did it for my game Moxie in a few hours using PHP and I had to learn PHP along the way!

Other options that you did not mention are AGON (http://developer.agon-online.com/) and GEOCADE (http://geocade.com/).

    Share and enjoy,

Yeah I concur. It's some simple code to send data to a php site that manages a database. Nothing too tricky for even us indie devs. Php is a useful skill to learn, and there is a ton of info out there, so dive in :)
