Just picked it up and I have to agree: I'm very impressed. The level variety is pretty cool (at least on the first 5 levels), the graphics are really nice, and the difficulty seems to be ramping up nicely -- though as imusic puts it, we're not talking Squareball challenging here. And of course, if you like Daniel Johnston's music (or indie lo-fi music in general), there's that to enjoy too. Color me surprised.
yeah this game is pretty good for $.99 There is a funky style to the whole presentation that I can best describe as "different" and the gameplay is fun, but not too deep. Graphics are artistic but blank looking in areas.
I've had more time to play with this, and it's freaking amazing. And yes, this is a naked attempt to bump up a thread that people keep missing.
Just Downloaded it and I cant believe this flu under my radar. Its very well put together...Cant wait to spend some more time on it.
Awesome game! Love the artwork, the music suits the game very well. Virtual joystick works best for me but the tilt controls isn't bad either. Great platform game.. And it's a really good deal for a dollar - one cent
His music is an acquired taste for sure, very lo-fi and stripped-down, but I'd recommend the documentary The Devil & Daniel Johnston to anyone who loves music. It's an incredibly moving and interesting movie about mental illness and overcoming difficult odds. That might sound 'hokey', but it's a brilliant film.
Ok so if you do a little web-searching, you can discover that Daniel Johnston is 48, grey-haired, diagnosed as Bipolar, and uncontrollably shakes. He has lived a somewhat tragic life and it is easy to see why he would never be accepted by mainstream music ='( - But I have found something really special about this game which led me to really liking Johnston's music. The game is very trippy & definitely original. Although it is pretty easy to play-through, they say more levels will be added soon. I like the concept of it and the entire game just kinda moves me spiritually. Johnston's low-fi music and simple lyrics still seem to shine despite those factors. I don't know how to describe it exactly, but the music is relaxing, and thought-provoking. While playing the game, I just felt like I could tap out of reality for a little while and think about life in general. Hope I'm not sounding crazy, but if you play the game for yourself you will know what I'm talking about.
Hmmm... I thought I'd posted about this already. It's quite a cool game. Nice music, and the art style is really neat .. both with a handmade feel in the graphics and sound, but really high quality animations and presentation. Definitely worth the price. I think any platformer fan should check it out.
I purchased this game a couple of days ago and I have to say I'm really liking its style. It is also pretty fun overall . Check it out!
