HexaGo is a game about control of territory, played on a board made of hexagons. Two players struggle over the control of the board, one with the green pieces, the other with the blue ones.

The rules are the same as in the famous old game Hexxagon, but the wide variety of boards and the evil A.I. makes this game much more challenging.

In its turn, a player chooses one piece of its color, then chooses an empty hexagon which is maximum two hexes away from the original, and moves there. When moving to a hexagon, the pieces of the opposing color surrounding it will become the player's own color. When a player moves right next to the selected piece, the original piece will duplicate. When moving further the original piece will jump to its new position, leaving its place empty.

There are two, selectable endgame styles which require different strategies to win:
- Loose endgame: the winner is the one with the more pieces when a player cannot move anywhere anymore
- Strict endgame: when a player cannot move anywhere anymore, the other player will occupy all the remaining empty hexes, and the winner is the one with the more pieces after this
