I do wear glasses. When I woke up it wasn't as bad. I turned on my iPhone's magnify feature and for little text like when you double tap a tile I use that to read it. So far it's really playable and the game is fantastic
Having just watched the gameplay video, is it just me or.... Burton = Timothy Spalding Pipkin = Michael Caine Clint = Clint Eastwood (bit cartoon like, might need to squint a bit for that one) Marvin = Lee Marvin Maybe it's just coincidental (or me!) but most have appeared in classic war films over the years (not sure about Spalding) so would fit the Hollywood aesthetics?
Come across my first crash: after winning the second scenario of US campaign "Finish what you have started", it crashes right back to spring board. Re-launch, click on "continue with the scenario" yields the same result. Has the replay the mission from start to get through BTW, could anyone please explain what is the "rogue" mode?
I've been through the scenario without crashing - not sure what has happened there. Rogue, from what I can tell, is not procedurally generated or anything, but is a permadeath type campaign where you buy your troops, and they carry over throughout campaign, with permadeath. If you die, all progress scrapped..... I'm loving this game btw
It looks like you are '4 star' loving the game. If you don't mind me asking, what makes it lose the fifth star for you? Normally I'd buy this in a heartbeat but something's holding me back this time.
It was a bit of a steep learning curve, which required the wiki and a YouTube to get fully to grips with all the available HUD info and cards. It's not a problem as tutorial and wiki are great, there is just a fair amount of info and strategy. Also I've not delved into multiplayer yet. I generally try to 5 star after a bit longer playtime ... It's been out 2 days and I have 2 young kids It probably will be 5 star... But it's a 'me and ratings' thing rather than a 'game is lacking anything specific' thing.
I would also add: Oddball = Donald Sutherland from the movie "Kelly's Heroes". The Germans are also represented from the films and tv series. The artwork is great
Great Boardgame conversion! And I think its important to mention that the bad guy is named Hans Gruber
Has anyone tried this on an iPad Mini 2 (Retina)? My thumb is hovering over the buy button... Thanks in advance.
(Hand raised) Runs very well without any issue except one crash, but it is not game killing, which I have filed a report to Slitherine. I am told it could be a bug.
Just popping in here as I bought this premium game with mixed expectations. On the one hand, it looked really polished. On the other hand, I'm typically not a fan of more modern ( WW1 and up ) war games. Turns out it's not much like a traditional WWII war game, in fact to me, it feels somewhat similar ( especially with Rogue campaign ) to games like Fire Emblem/Warsong/FFT just with some historical accuracy in terms of units. The tutorial is okay, but really one is best served by doing some reading of the rules or just continuing to play and learn things on the fly after the basics are down. Things are a little small on an iPhone 6s, but zoom works nicely and it is pretty easy to pan about. Implementation and graphics are top notch in terms of a board-game conversion. Again, if you were put off by the WWII theme or the concern that it is like a hardcore grognard war game, give it a second look. That Fire Emblem / Tactics vibe is there under the polished surface. Also of note, it looks like they released a Cthulhu themed version of this game ( further removing the historical accuracy )... Can only hope that makes its way to digital
Love the game. I had a saved game scenario 1 German first campaign , when I loaded it it was a frozen screen and all messed up. Strange..
The update that adds the Panzer expansion DLC has arrived. Can't buy it just yet though, seems it hasn't fully propagated with the AppStore, normally it's fixed within a few hours.
Anyone else having a hard time buying the new DLC? I updated the game but it shows a blank button, without the price, and when I press the but I only got the message "Contacting the App Store." Anything to do with the latest iOS update?
I asked this before but never got an answer so I'll try again: In the campaign, is each mission a new map or are they recycled with just the units being different in different starting locations?
