Absolutely. This one is considered the crown jewel of the entire series. The games are entirely independent of eachother so no need to play the others if you haven't.
Will this require Wi-Fi. I hope not since it would be great to play while commuting where no Wi-Fi is available

Yeah, that would be nice... For what it's worth, It plays exactly like the desktop version with some minor tweaks to support a touch screen. The graphics have been redrawn, however; which is most welcome.
So, tomorrow (Wednesday) it's coming out.. or Thursday.. in NZ it's the 29th tomorrow... while the USA is still on the 28th.
Yeah, it should either be out tomorrow night at the normal update time in your region or it will be simultaneously launched worldwide Thursday sometime depending on what region the developer is launching from.
According to the link it has an online multiplayer lobby, but I'm just reading, I've never heard of the game
They only mention " online multiplayer lobby tailored for PC", they don't say anything about the iPad version having online multiplayer. Hopefully it will. No expansions, just the base game.
Apparently, the original source code for the expansions has been lost so no expansions. This is especially painful because without Armageddon's Blade, we don't get a random map generator.
That sucks.. But at least we get the full HMM 3 version.. had enough playing hours into that one, in the past
So, it's tomorrow. I find myself going back to playing HoMM3 every few months, so this update will be warmly appreciated.
