So a friend and I were having this discussion and we wondered if the HOMM series was brought to mobile / tablet how much would you pay for a game like that ? I thought to myself having the whole thing done on Unity would be pretty cool, and actually I wouldn't mind paying for it either. Most RPG's today are combat based and not sure if there are any traditional RPG's today on mobile that have both exploration and combat together. What do you guys think ? Would such a thing ever work for mobile ? R.
There is a mobile adaptation of the Heroes series called Palm Kingdoms. It's a pretty polished version, but its not an official adaptation. There is also an official Free-To-Play version available. Being a massive fan of the series (I just finished playing a game of Heroes III on my Surface Pro, in fact) I would love to see it come to iOS. However, not until the freemium craze dies down a bit. I would hate to see it ruined like Rollercoaster Tycoon or Dungeon Keeper.
