I assume not but would also be interested if it were! Pretty much EXCEPT that the progress you've made in previous runs will determine future games' difficulty. Kick the game's butt early on and the game will ramp up the difficulty on all future runs. Kind of clever but it is a one way street. The difficulty can only increase, and as far as I can tell, there is no option to turn it back down (like if wanting to play a casual game while watching TV or if letting your kidster have a crack at it for the first time).
This is exactly that type of game. As you get better the dungeon changes on new games though. The dungeon difficulty ramps up and you see more of the latter enemies earlier. Level up faster, etc. it keeps the game from being to stale, for me anyways. I'm not a fan of how the leader boards work though. I was 26th worldwide on gold (master or whatever) and bottom 50% on bronze (beginner), with no way of moving that ranking up.
Developer, Can you please tighten the ipad controls and please add a dual stick control option too. Thank you.
The controls are tight. The problem is the floating stick is allowed to go all the way to the edge of the screen, and does so easily. It needs to stop floating when it reaches the point at which moving any closer to the edge would mean the stick would not be able to max out in the up, down, left or right direction. A fixed stick would also work, though I prefer a good floating one usually.
Ok, what I mean is the controls are almost like minisliders. One has to slide you thumb over too much to register movement. I think on my ipad, this amount of distance could be reduced. It is totally different on the icade, when you click it moves. I think it could be tightened up or maybe make an option to control how big the movement area is, so it will register a movement faster. Plays really well on a joystick cause it moves quick without this kinda micro slider like movement.
Just in case the developer is reading this, I wanted to leave my impression of the current state. I really like it. The controls are pretty good, I don't seem to have any issues with them, though it's always nice to have an additional option such as a fixed stick. The only issue I seem to have is when enemies are around a corner, they kind of sit there when you would expect them to come out. This leads me to charge rooms that are full. Perhaps that is the point or by design. Either way, I enjoy playing it. I do wish it was a deeper game. Playing in it's current state makes me wish it was a bit deeper, only because I'm enjoying it so much but I understand and appreciate it for what it is which is a turbo charged dungeon runner with minimal quest, tons of loot, and permadeath.
Anyone else think the noise you make when you're damaged sounds exactly like the blacksmith from that video game episode of "Community"?
Yeah, you're right. That was one of the best episodes of any TV show ever. I think my kids and I watched it 10 times because we loved it so much.
Man, why can't my mom be here? She always said my video-game knowledge would come in handy. I never believed her.
Wow, for some reason I never had the "new message" on this subscribed thread.. so completely forgot to check up ok, quick replies to various things at once: - bluetooth issues - this is caused by support for silly controllers on some iOS versions/devices, I removed all of that cause nobody probably owns those controllers anyway.. the update is currently waiting approval, hopefully hits the app-store somewhere end of the week. - dungeon difficulty, originally as it's an Orangepixel game, the hardest-difficulty was the only one the easier difficulties are added so that this time lesser players also got to enjoy one of my games. I guess the leaderboards are indeed a bit silly working like this, personally I never really care much about those myself, and for the real players it's really all about the hardest one. - controls.. there is simply no way to please everyone with touch-controls. I can add a million options, but I made that mistake with Neoteria breaking the way the game is balanced/played/controlled. Maybe having a fixed setting is possible, I'll look into adding that, but I prefer having things like controls as simple as possible without too much options causing confusion. - content... yes! I can safely say that there will be content added More monsters, some extra dungeon hazards for later levels I'm also looking at adding "rare loot" a list of items that you can go and hunt for (think about only one of those items showing up per game played, and only in a single random dungeon level, usually later in the game level 15+) I'm also strongly thinking about adding an actual ending to the dungeon, a mythical level 100. Including a mythical leaderboard where your "end score" will be used. - further more, I'm open to suggestions of permanent items(loot) or permanent skill improvements? not sure what people have in mind with that.. message me your ideas! I don't promise they'll be added, but I do promise to check all of them out you can put them in the thread, but they'll probably get lost. - finally, the few people saying the game is boring, not worth your money, etc,etc.. just get something else This game sole purpose is to entertain and give you some dumb entertainment in your day... I personally love it, but I'm biased One HUGE thanks to all the fans who got the game.. I'll try to come up with some great updates in the coming weeks/months! think that cover's most things?
The majority aren't asking for a million options, they're asking for what is usually standard: a fixed d-pad instead of floating. Surely that's not too much to ask or too confusing.
yeah! YES! Going to check this game out!!! Never herd of the developer before, quite the impressive collection!!!
Magical columns Does anyone know what the magical columns do? I mean the ones with need to be activated by running over a series of switches. The column then goes activated, comes out of the earth and his eyes start to glow. Then he goes back in. What does it mean?
@orangepascal : as usual the hackers have entered the leaderboard with their 9,....,... scores. Did you know you can get rid of them quite easy ? In the game center settings / option you can set a maximum score! So if you set that to a realistic number ( be generous, else real good players also won't see their score) all hacker scores will be gone. Most developers do not know about this option .
Yeah, but then it makes it harder to spot the hackers and laugh at them while pondering their MASSIVE inferiority complex... DBC
