Endless and OrangePixel? Excellent birthday iOS gift, awesome. Thanks OrangePixel for releasing it today
I'm really looking forward to Heroes of Loot. Last week in the upcoming thread the developer commented they rushed a hot fix to correct a minor iCade support issue; they hoped it would be approved before launch but did not comment further. Maybe Sanuku's message is related to that. @TheFrost - Happy Birthday!
That kinda would explain why it does always appear when Bluetooth is turned off. I will mark the post as Fixed. @TheFrost Happy Dungeon-Birthday
It actually is a standard Apple message. It appears when you try to search for BT accessories (like the iCade) and BT is off. Annoyingly, there's no way to stop it asking!
I watched most of the video... so this is just endless dungeon crawling until you die then you restart and do it over and over again to up the difficulty? It looks so cool, but the overall gameplay seems a bit too empty. I know a lot of people love rogue-likes and so on, but I just don't find them fun.
I thought this was 'endless' ? Reminds me of Gauntlet a bit where you just went to dungeon after dungeon and there was no end. Still a lot of fun though
From the Dev Blog: "Finally I put the release date on September 12th, I was done, the game was done, it was playable and enjoyable and every game session I had took much longer then I originally planned on. Heroes of Loot was finally the dungeon/rogue-like I wanted to make for so many years, it was the dungeon game the way I wanted to play it, reminding me of the original Gauntlet on the Spectrum and C64 " I am extremely excited about getting my hands on this! I am an ardent fan of OrangePixel (Stardash is still one of my all-time favorites) who have successfully reinvigorated several classic game styles for our platform. Now they are moving on to the original Gauntlet style. You can count me in!
I swear i hadn't read that ! I'm glad there is that Gauntlet homage then. Agree with you about Stardash, completed that but i love going back to it (Some of those later levels are very tricky though) But cant wait for this, love Orange Pixels graphic style. And to any newbies, please check out their older game INC, its a classic underated platformer, its great. (As are all of their games)
Well, there is, you don't enable searching for BT accessories by default. What percentage of buyers will have an iCade or other BT control? Is it even an integer's worth of percentage? Yet everyone has to click through the "error" message every time or enable bluetooth at the expense of battery life just to avoid it?
Gah, this is painful. I think I may buy this despite not being big into rogue-likes. I do like classic Gauntlet a great deal. I just remember there being an overall end level or something and a lot of the fun being the multiplayer (even on NES, and especially Gauntlet 2 since it supported the 4 Score and thus 4 players). I did buy Gunslugs recently too... might just have to add this to my next batch of game purchases after I get another iTunes card. Reading the game's dev blog too has me leaning towards an instant buy... http://techblog.orangepixel.net/tag/dungeon/
