    Does anyone play the wizard? I can't seem to find a reason to pick him over the elf other than his projectiles looks cooler than the elf's arrows. His special ability hardly ever seems available. The elf is faster, seeminingly tougher and seems to do more damage.

    I never switch to the wizard or elf unless it's a boss battle ever .
    Also how in the world do I unlock the other characters , this is nuts

    Was hoping would get easier after the update, but it's getting pretty frustrating. Got to level 15 before quiting for the night.

    I beat the game with a wizard level 15. The wizard is slow but quite powerful

    Wows that's funny. I never use the melee characters unless I'm going into a confined space and I know I'll have to take some damage. When I use the wizard, I'll swap to the Valkyrie just to move faster though.

    MFi support is a bit bugged...
    Maybe my Gamevice left stick's sensitivity is too high*, but "gamepad deadzone" doesn't work at all.
    Then you can't touch the screen: if you do it you break menu ("gamepad deadzone" option goes away and "touch sensitivity" and "fixed direction stick" come back) and, in game, touch screen controls appear (controller works, though).
    Pause button doesn't work.

    * by the way other games (Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved, Pixel Cup Soccer 16, Reckless Racing 3, Rush Rally 2, Stickman Soccer 2016, Tennis Champs Return, SNK games, etc. etc.) work fine. I have to try Space Grunts.

    can't you change deadzone with the dpad on your controller ? pretty sure I made the full menu workable with gamepads (don't have it here now for testing, but 99% sure)

    as soon as you touch screen it switches back to touch controls, moving the stick will go back into controller

    Space Grunts works fine (see Space Grunts's thread).

    Yep! I use Valkyrie w/ Wiz often...I let the Wizard pick off targets and clear rooms as much as possible then move in and clean up w/ Valkyrie if there's anything left, or if we're surrounded. Once she grabs a Soul Sword we're off to the races.
    And I try to remember to go through Exits as Valkyrie in case the next level is an Arena. Generally seem to do better in those w/ melee.

    just checked with my Mad Catz, and it does have effect.. not sure what else I can do to fix it .. the highest setting on the deadzone is 99% which would mean barely any movement triggers actual actions.



    that's another weird thing, the deadzone should just stay there as long as you use the gamepad (checked and works normally). It's almost as if something is triggering a touch. Just a thought, but the Gamevice is one of those "wraps around your phone" things right? Can you use it without having your phone locked into it? Perhaps if the gamevice is wrapped around your device, the usage of buttons/sticks is causing a little pressure on the touch-screen, making the game switch to touch-screen mode in stead of gamepad mode.

    other than that, I'm a bit lost on what might be going on here

    Well, I don't know. I remember a deadzone's problem with Tennis Champs Returns, but dev fixed it.
    I PMed him and he said: "I think some controllers send through the analogue stick as a Digital d-pad, but using a very low movement threshhold. So even when you put a deadzone on the analogue values, if you are also supporting the digital pad, it might not actually work. I'll need to have a look at how mine is coded."


    I don't think that is the problem because Space Grunts works fine.
    Also Pause button works only in Space Grunts.

    That's pretty much what I do, except I make a point to go through the exits with the wizard for the exact same reason. I don't think Valkyrie would fare well in an arena full of the skull mini bosses. Though the wizard usually doesn't either, the elf can kite them though, he's fast enough

    Hey Pascal,

    Great game and it's gotten even better with the updates. Big improvement from the first. I had a couple questions:

    What does the strength stat do? What's the difference between magic and firepower?

    Is the valkyrie the only one with a unique ability (seeing hidden walls)? Is she the only one that can spin and move over floor spikes?

    I've been using the wiz/valk combo. I use only the wizard for attacking and collecting xp. I switch to the valkyrie to move faster, move over spikes, and to check rooms for hidden walls. Otherwise, melee just seems inferior. With range, you can kite enemies around while you damage them from safety.

    Keep up the good work.

    strength has to do with how much damage you can take (the stronger the character, the slower your health-bar decreases)
    magic is for use with magic-spells, firepower for your normal "weapon"

    besides valkyrie, the paladin and thief can also see hidden walls.
    all melee characters can destroy spikes

    as for melee being inferior, that's mostly a personal thing. There are people playing who prefer using the melee over the ranged - so that discussion makes me extremely happy, cause it means I did it right ;p

    Question about the Thief - you're supposed to be able to sneak past enemies, but so far I get attacked just as often when I walk into a room. What am I missing?

    if you don't shoot and keep a bit of distance, most monsters won't attack you (much like the invisibility cloak of the original game)
    however if you do shoot a monster or get within "touching-reach" it will know about you and attack like any other character

    Had to restore my iPhone yesterday and unfortunately all my progress was lost, connecting to gamecenter did not help.:(
    Would be nice with some sort of cloudsync. Also I would love playing on my iPhone when I'm away and continue playing
    on my iPad when i get home.

    • fix: Survival mode now also gives unlocked new characters in the mix

    • fix: "Fire walker" achievement crashing the game
    • fix: swapping key in inventory made it vanish
    • fix: bomb-dispensor sometimes invisible
    • fix: after exiting inventory, having 2 same characters
    • fix: candle-avatar sometimes blocking hallway
