How do I delete an item from my inventory. Am I missing something? I want to trash my lower level junk.
Just wanted to drop a line because I was wondering when the game was going to be updated with the Shadow Assassin character.
That update is in submission now, so we're just waiting on Apple to approve it and then we'll roll it out to everyone. Apparently submissions are going a little slow at the moment, but we're hopeful that it will go through easily. We've made a bunch of small tweaks to the way everything works (and added Hard Mode, for extra play), and some major changes to the IAP model in response to everything that has been posted here as well. I'll post a full run down here when it gets through submission.
I am talking about the Google Play THD version of the game. This seems like the only place where the devs are actually listening. I've gotten to a point where the next mission is the one where I have to defeat the lich/high priestess. I have the latest (somewhat) equipment and yet, the mission is practically impossible to beat. I am a level 10 warrior. It seems like I can't advance unless I do a ridiculous amount of grinding. Note: I am playing this on a Nexus 7 running jelly bean. It looks amazing, the game runs smoothly, there are very rarely crashes, and in general I am having a blast playing. Kudos for this (almost) perfect dungeon crawling experience.
If you get killed in a level and use the retry option I find you get the same creatures and loot in the exact same places but if you go all the way out to the select quest screen then the mix of creatures and loot changes. You'll still have to kill the litch but... Also don't pick up health orbs unless you absolutely need them. Run for your life when necessary. Kite the creatures. Nothing more fun than a mob of goblins chasing you around one of the large temple maps. If all that doesn't help then, yea, you'll have to grind for the better gear at the store.
The way I beat the lich was by Spoiler whittling away its health bit by bit. I'd go in and attack until it started using its life drain. Once my health got down half way, I'd run away and regen. Then rinse and repeat till it died. I also used the dash skill to dodge its missile attacks.
I have around level 9 equipment with as far as I can tell, good equipment abilities. I already did the whole grinding for equipment part. That's why I'm posting, with up to date equips, the dungeon is still dastardly hard. Those tips are really good. The whole running away thing has saved me many times. Artfoundry: Thanks for the tips. I'll be sure to remember them when I reach the lich.
after seeing this article at pocketgamer http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Multiformat/Heroes+Call/news.asp?c=43543&srch=heroes+call I redownload the game, because the wait time for quest will be gone after that update some noteable mention from pocket gamer: "In terms of the complicated two-currency economy, Gems have been removed and everything but character purchases has been moved to a gold-based economy. If you already had a lot of gems, you'll see those converted to Gold and, if you had enough to buy a new character, you'll get the new Shadow Assassin for free." "Other IAPs include the ability to purchase Gold for the game to supplement the Gold you earn by progressing through Heroes Call. At present, Gold is cross-character, but there are plans to make Gold character-specific. Alongside these changes, Defiant Entertainment has removed wait times, although item identification remains on a timer."
Orc: Vengeance and Heroes Call - YIPPEE!!! Hello all! Frisbee10461 here! What is very interesting is that recently, Orc: Vengeance was released on the iPad and iPhone. I like both Heroes Call and Orc: Vengeance. Although there are several differences, there are many similarities between the two games. Whether you like Heroes Call or despise it, or whether you love or loathe Orc: Vengeance, I am super psyched that "touch-style" hack-and-slashers are this good on the iPad. When Infinity Blade: Dungeons comes out, I think that game will be good, as well. Therein lies my point. If you like good hack-and-slash games, you'll find that there are things that good and bad for each game. However, hopefully, the good outweighs the bad. If you had up the time I spent playing both games, it comes out to around 50-60 hours, and for this I paid $2.99 for Orc: Vengeance and $1.99 for the wizard character in Heroes Call. For less than 5 bucks, I had a month of exciting game playing. Now that there are multiple great games of this genre on the iPad, the developers can use these games as blueprints on how to improve their own games. As a result, there will be even greater improvements to these games. Just my two cents, Frisbee10461
Yea I really like this genre too. Only two quests away from finishing heroes. Been sort of saving them. Haven't got orcs yet, too busy with work, but I do plan on getting it. Have you tried a stylus? You would be surprised. My only worry with IB-D is that the arena areas will be small. Like one iPad screen small. But like you I'm anticipating it. That and Baldur's Gate sometime later this year.
Thanks for the heads-up about Baldur's Gate. I'm not sure of the price but I think it will be $10. That is a bit high for an iPad game. Hopefully, both Baldur's Gate and IB:-D will be priced reasonably. For Heroes Call, there should be a third character (Shadow Assassin) released soon. Like you, I try to take my time with these games, as playing them too fast takes the enjoyment away from them. Just my two cents. Frisbee10461
How did you get so much play time? Most people seem to report finishing everything in Orc: Vengeance in about five hours.
My total time for Orc: Vengeance was about 10-15 hours. For Heroes Call it was between 30-35 hours. I didn't rush through anything. Also, I replayed certain areas to level up more quickly (I'm level 24). 5 hours for Orc: Vengeance? Wow, that is going really quickly.
Getting close to finishing the default char. in this game, and I too have gotten a good amount of enjoyable play from it - probably 5-10 hours. I am SO looking forward to Baldur's Gate - one of my all time favorite games. $10 is not too much for it, nor is the extra $5-10 for the extra content. You could easily get 50 hours of play from the original BG, and this version will have more content as well as BG2 features.
Nothing yet. If I hear of anything, I will let you know. By the way, for what it is worth, I like both Orc Vengeance and Heroes Call, but I do like Heroes Call a bit better. Nothing against Orc: Vengeance because I do have fond memories of that game, but to me, Heroes Call rates slightly higher.
I liked both games as well, but for overall quality, I'd put Orc: Vengence over Heroes Call even though it is shorter. Just feel the atmosphere and somewhat varying environments gave it a more engrossing, epic feel. That said, Heroes Call is a much better game than most give it credit for. Even with the original wait-times and IAP system, I feel I got my money's worth.
Shadow Assassin is still sitting stuck in the submission queue, sadly. We've never had an update take this long, but by all reports things are taking a while at the moment. We did have an issue with the original submit, but that's resolved now. Hopefully all sorted out in the next couple of days!
