It doesn't get harder, but archer is a really different hero when it comes to campaign. I'd say with all levels, get about four mines up and spam fully upgraded treemen. They are tanks. Orcs do 1 damage to them since they have like 60 armor, and they do 99 damage(the treemen, not the orcs). All you do is kill the stragglers and shoot archers and bombers that hit things within the wall.
I spent a lot of time with the game over the weekend. In the end, it just felt forced and I wasn't really enjoying myself. There is something about it that just isn't grabbing me. The balance feels off and I find it hard to keep track of how many of each kind of unit I have out on the field. One minor complaint is I can see that I have X number of guys deployed at a given time, but to know how many of those are pikemen, for example, I have to look around which takes valuable time. It would be nice if there was a HUD to show your deployed units and their health at a glance, or something to that effect. Anyway, the game itself is gorgeous and absolutely worth the $2 to muck around with. Although the graphics themselves are polished, the gameplay and the interface feels clunky TO ME, to a point where it just makes it more frustrating than enjoyable to play. Based on all the rave reviews in this thread, I'm probably in the minority here so your mileage will probably vary. If you're on the fence, definitely give it a try at this price and support ambitious endeavors like this on the AppStore.
The besto play archer is forget that there is a crosshair at all and aim shots based on mob distance combined with horizon level and it will be easier to LAN shots Though a brighter crosshair wouldn't be too bad, but you really need to play the class much more differently from the others any way. Point are very valid however, use the horizon and judge distance with a few practice unlimited modes and it's quick to lean how to Land shots in the back field 90-100% of the time. Just give yourselves some no pressure practice then see how it goes
For me mob distance isn't that hard. I do, however, have trouble aiming side to side for long range shots with the crosshairs. That's the problem I was having. Judging distance is only half the battle lol
Yeah, it might be good if they added different crosshair styles in the option menu then it's win win for every one who like them with and without
I'm loving the archer. I tried both archer and mage for a few stages to see which I liked better. The smoke from the Mage staff is rather annoying but on top of that I already have the Knight as my main mele class. I have to strongly agree that the cross hairs is too dull and can be disorienting. Though all in all I'm happy with the archer. He deals some serious damage. Just got to allocate some SP for health and atleast 10 armor.
Dr.frankenstein ? what level are up to so far? I'm only level 4. on a side note is their an advantage/disadvantage to switching between heroes ? or is it best to just stick with 1 heroe?
I've beaten the whole game as Knight and I made it to like Stage 22 with Pally. Now I'll probably beat the game as Mage and Archer. I would stick with one Hero until you beat the game once, then play it over as other heroes.
Actually, it DOES get harder when you go back to levels, depending on how much of the campaign you've completed (so if you go back to level 1 when you've beaten level 20, there will be more of a difficulty bonus then if you go back to level 18 when you're on 20, for ex). It shouldn't be too much of a difficulty addition, but we figured since you have all the extra goodies unlocked and leveled up, it would be better to somewhat scale the campaign to your level. As for Archers reticle... what do you guys want to see? I never use that thing in the first place because of his arching shots. I find that you just have to feel it out for long range shots and "get the hang of it." Personally I love that about Ranger... he's a high risk, high skill, high reward hero.
I found the need to go back and play other heroes in order to gain the extra crystals. So I just complete each level with all three heroes before moving on (and it's still a challenge at times).
Just stand right in front of it while you send out your horde. You can heal faster than he can damage you. Also remember that the Tree does grow back (60s I think). I've had my tree killed in several games, and have still won. Just played a level 80 Paladin who thought he could rush me with his shield, chop down my tree, and destroy me... no sir Remember, the "counter" to ranger is fast moving enemies, or knockback. Skeleton runners, mummy runners, goblin bombers, goblin snipers are all great counters.
Love the archer. As you say he is high risk, high reward. Deals very good damage but have to be careful not to take many hits, but that's what the ranged attack compensates for and he has more than enough run to stay away from hard hitting enemies. I would like to see the archer targeting circle become darker. The light shade causes it to be easily blend into the surroundings.
Random question i was wondeeing about , Was the update a delta update? It seemed to download and install in these than five minutes...
Game Impressions ********* The paragraph just below is the main point of my post - a quick comment and question. Everything after that is just expressing my admiration and enjoyment of the game. Figured I'd separate them as I post rarely, but when I do they tend to be too long. ************ As much as I like playing your game on my iPhone, it would be a blast to play it on the bigger screens of a PC or Mac. I know the game is somewhat unique in its tech and performance on the Mobile platform, and only one of many "FPS" on the other platforms; but the gameplay - the fundamental concept is pretty original (I think, but I am no expert) and would do well, IMO. Does the game currently run on any other platform? If not, would you/are you considering a port? ***** Otherwise, I really like the game and am one of the many praising it and the company. I should probably skip the rest as we fans are so glad to see a great new game come out that we may be in the process of creating swelled heads that lead to terrible back problems; or creating gigantic expectations on our part for what's next, that no one could ever meet. LOL. But, what the heck - here's my take: I actually bought it right when it came out, but can't claim to be some expert game-picker. It was a coincidence that it happened to be released right when I did one of my periodic checks for new Tower Defense games. This wasn't traditional tower defense but looked interesting. I admit I wasn't hopeful at first, since the description, marketing copy, and features seemed to be similar to the 100's of other games out there; they were fine, just that seemed all the other games in that they appear to be cool games, but you end up deleting the game after 5 minutes (isn't it amazing how almost every single game has "unique gameplay! is addicting! and, is #1 in that country no one has heard of"? lol). This game was such a pleasant surprise! I was hooked and didn't even realize it until I'd played for an hour and thought only a few minutes had gone by. And the update is fantastic. Took me awhile to learn to aim properly with the new Ranger; I've been spoiled by the "Ahh... close enough .... BOOM!" action of the Engineer's gun . So, great job by the whole company - and whichever person or persons at Foursaken who insisted that gameplay - mechanics and "funness" that is - had to take priority over everything else (graphics/release schedule/etc.): bet it feels good to be right . Great job and congrats on being craftsmen in a field flooded with pedestrian work.
