Game Impressions ok, the last lvl is 99, got it, but how to improve my speed? with my best rune, i have 17s speed, which seem high, but in fact is really low when you fight with big enemies sorry to be so annoying, but from an endless fightgame i expected endless lvls, i guess. sorry again.
Endless levels, well there needs to be a roof somewhere so the game gets into skill levels and not just who can play most really.
Late to the party, but I'm enjoying this a lot more than I expected after the opening of NY Zombies 2 put me right off. Maybe I should go back and check that out again, hmmm... Anyway, some negativity - it's not without some annoying flaws - in particular a whole lot of things pointing to a pretty wonky difficulty curve. It's reeeally not that strategic to suddenly force you to adapt to using a whole new set of units on an entirely different enemy you've never seen before and who your previous tactics can do nothing to counter. That's a puzzle game. Oh, were you just cruising through level after level? Here, have some mission critical enemies you have almost no chance of directing your men towards, who ranged units won't single out and who only one hero out of three can quickly and consistently get rid of, especially when two or three top-tier units decided to chase you for no apparent reason. Have fun with that! And too many units or buildings become pretty much redundant very quickly - no, mister loading screen message, pikemen really, really aren't low specced for their cost, they're blatantly the best unit you've got. Any and all wall units are a terrible risk in comparison, certainly in the early game, when you can quite easily have enough to keep putting walls back up but not keep them standing (and that's with +4, +5 gold going). I do like the game quite a bit, I'm just annoyed with the difficulty spikes, mostly at the countless people who automatically think that if they threw themselves at a wall for like three hours straight and then it finally fell down, well then clearly there's nothing wrong, is there? Everyone else complaining is obviously just a lazy hater. ANYWAY. I do like it, seriously. I like the feeling I've got Dynasty Warriors/Kingdom Under Fire on a small screen, I like the way it plays - it's a little awkward to face targets sometimes, but other than that I've had few if any problems with the controls. I like the depth - not as deep as it could be, but I do admire how speccing different builds does have visible effects (even if some are kind of superfluous). I've got a Rare for +5 Run, -12% building cost, and Christ, the extra speed is a lifesaver. I like that while on the surface the engine isn't anything mindblowing - I note someone took out the "console quality graphics!" description - it can manage a surprising amount on screen even on an old iTouch 4G, ten, fifteen enemies or more, lighting, projectiles, particle effects (love the smoke trails!) and it still stays more than playable. Plus there's some really nice art design in there, which is often much more important to me. So yeah, I'm enjoying myself, and I'm eagerly awaiting the update (if I can ever pass mission 19). When it all comes together it's remarkably tense in a good way, even with all the flaws. I must have been hammering it most of yesterday, until the small hours of the morning - up to level 18, Knight 15, Paladin 11, Engineer 10. Just trying to offer a slightly more balanced opinion. I'm happy you got a lot more success with this one, Foursaken: I might have walked away from NY Zombies 2 but I still really liked just how crazily ambitious you were being and it's good to see you still at it. Just, it's, like, not quite my game of the year or anything.
Well, you can also have games where you can progress as much as you want. If I don't care about "competing" with you then it makes no difference to me how strong you get.
This. Everyone glitches their stats to absurd levels...going to be interesting to see who actually knows how to play once the exploits are taken care of.
Some people might be glitching to level 9000 when people who play more could be stuck at 50+ and want to play competitively. If they made it limitless you can bet we would see a few in the thousands range by now I gained 20 levels not trying to glitch but if I was trying it would be unstoppable, there are lots of people higher level than me who have played much much less for example. In a single player game it could be cool and wouldn't matter as much but a game like this is a different beast and unfair advantages are just that. Glitching to 99 is manageable but when some one goes off on a tangent it's a problem, also script 'hacker' types would be all over it on day one lol.
This basically is a single player game. You don't have to compete with anyone. It's not like you're in an arena with them and they kill you in three seconds and then you can't do anything.
There is an update released onto the app store which is adding a competitive mode, along with other gameplay styles... It should be downloadable within the week. There's also gamecenter leaderboads and cooperative mode, I don't think the devs really intended it to be a single player game lol.
Well, I believe for the new game modes - the developer mentioned something about putting 2 players at an even playing field, which to be honest is the right thing to do in a versus mode. You want skill and experience to be the competitive part, not sitting behind your wall I with 6 repairmen for 5+ hours, then unleashing your 200 attack and 100% crit on someone of level 40, who probably has more real experience managing units, skills and buildings playing the game as it was intended. To me, without playing the new game modes, co-op is the way to go in a game like this. This way, it doesn't matter who is what level. I had some good games with someone 30+/- levels away from me. Once the crashes are fixed, ill probably be playing that the most, still. Oh, and the developer did mention they will be working on a new campaign for future update, so those not touching multiplayer - there will be more content here for you.
Same here, really looking forward to the update. I'm also waiting to play this again, since I had stopped playing with that crystal bug.
i am 100% agree, didnt think about this. you are right, the skill will be unimportant at some point. btw, i did earn my levels step by step, with hard work. so you are right even more. sorry about my english.
Whether co-op or head-to-head competitive, you need a matching system so that players can play against others of comparable level, whether or not there's a level cap. It's more important to provide a way for everyone to enjoy the game than to just focus on the tiny number of players who are at the top of whatever the scale is.
I think its based off of stats and not lvl! Hopefully because someone could lvl up only one stat and everything else matches somaybe its only stats
Well not sure where you live but your English is easily understandable. Much respect for you, wish I could speak another language like this. There arent many places that teach what you want over here though, would love to expand on my Korean lol. Btw back on topic archer will probably be the new favourite personally, unless every one goes archer then il pick Mage up instead
Haha is that the new trolling class Btw some one add me on game canter, Dreathor and invite me to a multiplayer game! Just don't play engineers or build catapults/cannons so it doesn't crash
VS mode will scale both players stats so they are on roughly equal footing (not sure about special skills). Hopefully people don't disconnect when they are losing in VS mode (saw a lot of that in IB1 MP).
