Cool thanks for the response :)

If there's much strategy involved then I might try this.... While the TD minigame in 3D Dot Heroes let's you attack, that game being a Zelda type game, it has no combat system... but being so damn hard makes it worth playing, and if you say that H&C requires much strategy and it's challenging, i might try it out... I loved Bug Heroes and I'm currently playing NYZombies 2..

Helpful advice - Thanks for writing such a good analysis/read, but i did notice new units respawn irrespective if i kill them or not.

Yeah, I can appreciate that, but I'd also imagine that good developers that make good games take pride in the integrity of their product and wouldn't want exploits ruining the experience for their fan base. But that's just me.

I am not unsympathetic, but I also recognize the very high cost of trying to prevent people from cheating. Often you have to make the game much less convenient for everyone who's not cheating. You have to think very carefully about this tradeoff. One possibility is a "tournament mode" that is less user-friendly (requires constant internet connection, for example) for the players who really care about being on the top of the leaderboards.

to add to the current level 19 strategies - I just beat it with both the Knight and the Paladin relatively easily after adopting a few things learnt here

Basically, run around and get the orc warriors/chiefs to just follow you around...as the Paladin, use either your stun attack or invulnerability to whack em and take their attention, then use your extended sprint to keep them following you while you upgrade your walls/build rifle men/maybe a pike or 2 to deal with the little annoyances... I upgraded to reinforced or steel walls, got Longbeard and dwarven hut so my shit ton of rifleman had retarded range and damage... as long as you are aware of where all the big hard hitting mobs are and don't get stuck, its pretty easy to just smoke the goblin snipers/sappers as they come out while your ranged units annihilate everything else.

Ballista towers work well too but the fact that they never fire at the little guys or the snipers can prove irritating

the Knight is a bit trickier without being able to heal yourself and having less sprint to work with, but using taunt and hammering big groups of warriors/chiefs with your sprint attack wears em down faster. I did have to run back to the castle a few times to potion up when I got sloppy/careless or the snipers started targetting me.

Many ways to skin a cat, but I think the best general strat is to get those walking bulldozers to chase you and continually chase you, even steel walls don't last long and fully upgraded pikes with blacksmith+leaders STILL get wiped handily by a chieftain in a few swings

    next up, engineer :)

Oh well I don't think resets should be so casually used. I could MAYBE see them allowing a few profiles, but honestly you shouldn't be able to constantly reset your hero to help trivialize content. It'd make things harder for them to balance if people could stack stats, and lessen the strategy elements, not enhance them.

For the peeps as engy on 19: it's all about ballista, steel walls, kiting, a few rifle dwarves & other wall units, and constantly respawning ballistas and repairing. Building immunity is your friend (especially if you get low health and need to run inside briefly)

Trick is to grab the chiefs before they hit the wall. Kite and shoot what you can. I shoot the little guys on the wall and hope for crits cleaning out masses of em, while netting more cash for the kills. Dwarves huts help with bombs FYI. If a chief gets to your ballista and you can't agro him, be ready to snag him the instant you see the ballista destroyed message... He'll go for you if you get him before he starts wailing on a new target.

For engy, do NOT go after the snipers if they were allowed to build up. Ideally, take them out when you first see them shooting, otherwise you're liable to die. You're better off living with their dps until the ballista can kill them than try and kill all of em.

For pally, big diff is subbing rifleman for ballista. Kiting is easier as pally, as is clearing out snipers. Just make sure to try and drag chiefs/orcs with you on the way do they're following you and not beating down your walls. I imagine knight is similar...

I think they should add resets. Rather than having useless skills for your playstyle, you could have used them for skills you use. I have used up a lot of skill points up for less useful skills now making my engineer weak.

Wait, you should be able to max everything out, but not be able to shift from one allocation to another?

So far I haven't done any grinding whatsoever (on level 20, all 3 characters are level 13-14) but if I wanted to do so - what would be the best method?

Yeah, as far multiplayer gaming goes, I'm very much partial to my console. I mentioned earlier in the thread that I have quite a bit of experience as far as iOS games go, but never venture online. The only game I ever really played real time online was Real Racing 2, and even that was just a little bit.

I suppose the landscape is different on GameCenter than it is on Xbox Live, so I should take that into account.

And, for what it's worth, this is a testament to how great this game is that it's the first I've spent any significant amount of time with online.

Yea, altho we're talking about maxxing out diff things.

Because otherwise people will just stack crit/dmg in some places and armor/health in others. If you wanna reset once a week or something, that's fine, but IMO you shouldn't be able to respec to the point of tailoring around your runes or the current mission.

Or maybe have respec cost crystals? So for single point or stat you want to take back, it will cost x amount of crystals to avoid people adjusting it every other level or what not.

Mate I was never implying a respec for free, sorry that it was taken that way. Just thinking that for peeps to get the most out of the game and the time investment it takes to get to 70+ levels that they shouldn't be stuck with the uneducated choices they made when it came to stat allocation. Also for longevity to have Options to try different builds to try different styles should also be in the mix.

It's all about the end game but why make the journey unenjoyable?

Gonna be a long time before I reach stage 19. My current strategy is grinding. I don't have much unlocked. I start by building a gold mine and then bring out peons while I try to upgrade the mine. At this point I'm already overrun on stage 6. My strategy so far must suck because its not working, I'm gonna beat this game if it takes me all year.

You need to go for the catapults by yourself. Destroy them as soon as possible.
