As a paladin, I usually just have a couple Pikemen + Blacksmith, and a couple Captains. However, since Pikes move slow, they will stay around your walls for the most part, so I normally go behind the Necromancers and whack them towards my Pikes, then my Pikes will take care of them.
I didn't even see a necro to be honest in level 20. Build 4 mines right away, get steel walls before the troll comes, I just kept the walls up, summoning units, building ballistas and focusing on the troll. (I am thinking of the right level, am I?) I was alwas summoning (or tried to) 2 groups of pikemen, 2 captains and 1 cleric. On the walls 4 ballistas and only riflemen and one of those dwarf captains. Also build a captains tent, a forge and blacksmith. There is a troll in level 20, right?
BIG PROBLEM I'm back to level one and now it keeps crashing I don't even know if I have my 60 crystals!
Hey guys, I just want to make sure you know to NOT let your device run out of juice while playing Heroes & Castles (until the next update).
Alright, I've given up and now I'm asking for advice. Can't pass 19 with knight lvl20. I put up 3 mines and after that I've tried a few things... -blacksmith, pikes : spam pikes, hopefully a captain comes. This gets past the first couple chieftains, but then my wood walls come down, 2 more chieftains come and4 more orcs come and before I know it, I'm alone I the battlefield, dead. -ballista towers : pointless. Overwhelmed in minutes, barely able to kill first chieftain -proper walls : no money to get out any other units, dead after first chieftain dies I've tried all three of these strategies with different runes equipped, thinking that extra bonus might get me over the hump, but whatever I sacrifice from the previous rune comes back and haunts me, be it armor, damage or cost. I made it through this level easily with the other two heroes but knight is driving me crazy. Any pointers?
Level 19 was actually the easiest for me with the knight. As I described somewhere before... DO NOT start with summoning ground units or building walls in level 19. Build 4 mines at start. One hit each Orc so he will follow you and use taunt, DON'T let any Orc near the castle wall! Then start summoning wall units, preferably one of those dwarf captain things and the rest riflemen. Then start building better walls and ballista towers. Keep running around on the map and keep orcs away from walls, while the riflemen and ballista towers kill them.
This is great advice for 19 with knight. I would also recommend a couple Repairman as well, they'll repair not only your walls, but also your towers if they're being damaged.
Agreed. Knight's strategy here is to kite enemies into following him with either attacks from you, or with taunt. Then let your wall units and ballistae do most of the damage
Guys congratulations on the App Store feature! I have a non-trolling question to ask everyone. There are some reviews that claim the game is pay to win. You must pay to buy gems to make the game easier. Is this true at all?
Not at all, crystals only buy you unit and building upgrades wich can be gotten easy enough by playing the levels with dif heroes, or playing any game of multiplayer. Also they can be used to craft a random rune. You cannot spend crystals to level up your hero or learn skills. Crystals are a time saver at best imo.
Paying for crystals in this game is the dumbest thing one could do (except if you want to support the devs). But seriously, those who wrote such reviews have no idea about the game. Let me explain; crystals can be used for either upgrading units and buildings or either for crafting runes. Upgrading units and building makes the game easier, that's true. But the game is designed, so you earn crystals (note that you get 3,2 or 1 crystal after each battle). So you can take the normal way and upgrade buildings and units as youre supposed to, or you can take the cowards way out and buy crystals to make the game easier. Don't buy crystals to craft runes. You'll find rare and legendary runes in no time, when playing in endless mode or co-op.
No. You can gain gems by playing to level up your character. You can replay old levels or coop mp to get them. If you actually paid your way to maxing out your character it would only ruin any challenge that the campaign has. I have earned enough gems through normal play to unlock most of the upgrades already and I've only played a few days since the games release.
@Bigred447uk you can't level up, or max your character with crystals, you can only upgrade units and buildings.
