My strategy with knight is I level mine to 3 then start making armies of pikemen while charging into the horde of enemies. But I also have a rune equipped that gives a +10 Attack and +50 Gold at start :p

I think it would be pretty cool if the dwarven hero could use that hammer on his back. Like,When there's a swarm of enemies around him there could be a skill that knocks them all back.

I need help with this too using the pallidin. I just form one gold mine and then peons and pike men. Not seem to be working with pallidin

You'll definitely need more than just one gold mine, especially with Paladin.

A good tip is to upgrade the pikemen and use those instead of the peons. Personally I don't thing peons and the academy is a good buy, I prefer pikemen+captains and the blacksmith when available.

I'd say it's good to get gold to 4, but def 3 at least. I like to make 2 sets of pike for every captain.

Yeah. Using the knight and engineer was easy for this level. The problem is the start; pikemen are expensive.

Yup, I agree about Pikemen. Especially with Paladin and his abilities that make unit prices cheaper and can heal allies, they're a lot better than Peons.

Thanks for the tips. Rolled Paladin and liking it much more than my knight so far, I get to keep my troops from getting mowed down by the orcs. Most of the time.

    Some criticism:

My god, on this level with the goblin knock-down bomb swarms and it has to be some of the most annoying gameplay I have ever suffered. Knocked down, start to stand- Knocked down, start to- Knocked down, st- Knocked down fool!

Much of the game is kind of annoying tho. I never have those epic moments like the last stand in Bug Heroes, since the soldier AI sucks at prioritizing disruptive targets and long-range bombers it mostly feels like I'm playing babysitter and whack a mole.

My iphone 4 is also having performance problems. Knight's charge drops frames like madness, as do my Pally buffs on swarms of friendlies as well as his cooldown buffs.

I do still like the game, but I generally figure that criticism can only help make stuff better. Looking forward to more stuff!

Did it give you an icloud pop-up on the ipad at all?

We'll be adding a few more iCloud control options in the next update - such as a force save to icloud, force load from icloud button, and possible a "disable auto icloud" option... hopefully that should help with some of the icloud issues.

Do you have an armor rune? Armor decreases the chance to be knocked down (10% chance per armor point). So if you equip an armor rune for that level, or put in a few points to armor, this shouldn't be a problem anymore!

Yeah, that info is only there when you click on the armor stat (when upgrading)... it probably is a bit obscure.

Ah, have not even clicked on it. The game's intro tip recommended that I get all of the skills first. Can upgrading stats be as good?

We just recommend that you at least unlock all the skills to level 1 first, because just having the skills unlocked is a huge boost. After that though, it really depends on your playstyle. Stat buffs can certainly be good. I personally don't bother with stat buffs until I've got everything on level 5 though :p We had one tester who put a bunch of damage points into his knight though, focusing purely on offense. I've played around with an "offensive paladin" as well, with a damage rune, a few extra points in his damage stat, and a leveled up retribution skill. At this point there are so many variables, I'm not sure if one way is necessarily better or worse than another!

The latest level to be kicking my butt is 22, with a lot of wraiths coming and annoying archers. My paladin takes 3-4 hits to kill a wraith so I put a Dmg rune on to cut it to 2 but still tough. Iv got good runes, one that adds gold mine and one that cuts troop cost by 32% making pike/captains only cost 43. But I'm still getting overrun before I can stabilize.

Man, these are some seriously intense battles. Just beat 22 with no stone walls standing. Running from wraith to wraith while trying to keep pikemen on the regular enemies, finally a blacksmith turned the tide making my pikes much stronger. Won with barely any keep health, it's madness!!

Oh my Lord this was the best advice. My Peons are upgraded because I love the idea of a peasant army that rises to become awesome, but they were getting mowed down.

Switched to Pikemen / Captains and a Blacksmith, the Pikemen (which ARE upgraded) completely wrecked face when backed up by my Paladin and the Captains, and once the BS came up it was even better. Not a single one of them died.

EDIT: and to restate, in case it is not known: this game is having major performance issues on my iphone 4 with my paladin's unit auras and emergency spells (and now the gob sniper smoke trails as well). these slow my framerate to a crawl (no other programs running, tried restarting, no help).

Yep. That's strategy works like a charm. I'm also getting framerate drops on multiplayer.

What legendary runes do you guys have?
