I disagree a little on the premise that its that hard. I have played Corte endless once and I lasted 9 and a half min. It is hard. But not that hard. I have longer time on Corte then I can get on Hinton. LOL. Dr_Joey
This sounds like high level Heroes that grew up on Corte cannot play Corte coop anymore after the update? That could be kinda annoying. Maybe I got it wrong... It's no biggie to rush through the stages with an overpowered Hero, but nevertheless quite time-consuming. Even less players may play Corte coop then... But let's see.
I will have to give this strategy a try. My strategies on solo-endless are quite different. I have the best success with my barbarian, who I can reach 17+ minutes on about half the time with 15 minutes almost a foregone conclusion. Be aware I have a +50 starting gold and +1 gold mine rune, so that does change the behavior right at the beginning. My stats: 34th Barb, Maxed passive skills, Maxed Berserk, Warrior 2 and Rage 1 with 61 damage and 10 armor. I run: Mine Mine Berzerk/Warrior/Heal Ballista Ballista Ballista Berzerk/Warrior/Heal Ballista Mine Steel Walls Repairman Repairman Repairman Mine Giant Giant Archers til full Giants til full Replace as necessary. Berzerk/Warrior/Heal as necessary. The Berzerk/Warrior/Heal is the beauty of the Barbarian. With 323 current health I get a +4 to damage each time I run this combo (not including actual hit by the enemies). I one shot most everything that comes down the path until the first mummy. Wraiths are cake at 2 hits. I can solo everything with timing up until the first troll. If I let the damage rack up I can do 100+ per hit on a normal hit. All this before things get interesting. At around 13 minutes my giants start to wear down and I have to be careful of my mines being destroyed. This attrition on my gold is what is my undoing. My archers strategy is far different, since I like to get archers with him early on for his active ability. He gets about the same time as the barbarian, but it's less hectic at first and far more hectic later on. whoda
I love the challenge of Corte, wish more people played it. Maybe FS can incentivize people to play Corte co-op by offering double XP on that map?
That's actually a good point. Think we might change it to something like, must have completed ~20 missions altogether with that hero (in any combination between Hinton and Corte). Or maybe just slap a level requirement on them (can anyone fair well on endless/co-op on Corte with a hero < level 25-30?) Obviously the thought behind the requirement in general is that we've been getting a lot of complaints about people unlocking Corte, picking a new character, and sucking really hard bc of the low level hero, when the whole point of Corte was to provide a top tier challenge for top tier players. Corte was designed for high level heroes and veteran players, so it was definitely made hard on purpose We balanced it for heroes that had completed all of Hinton first (in most cases your hero should be around level 30 or so after playing through Hinton, and end up around 50 or so if you complete Corte with that same hero). Same deal with Endless... we have people lasting hours on Hinton in Endless and Co-op, and we wanted another "tier" of difficulty once you got your hero to level 50+... You'd be surprised how many players like building their characters up to level 50-99, and we wanted to keep the game playable for those gamers (since there is already plenty to do with lower level and mid tier heroes on Hinton). Thats not a bad idea - might see this in next update!
P.S. just reminiscing on some of our old games... just curious, how many Heroes & Castles players here have also played Bug Heroes?
Been with you since Bug Heroes and have bought every game - but my most played ones are the two Bug Heroes ones and this one.
Forsaken can you make your next game like this??? Pleaseeee haha, I've missed that game you could do a good job with something like that!
i think their next game should be (and i hope it is) BH2, but they still have a little ways to go for working on both H&C and Blockfortress.
