I saw a Ranger, lvl 43, who dealt 699 damage every single close range shot. I don't think that is possible even if you put all your points into damage (he didn't, he used at least spread shot, slow, and elven arrows) and use a +70 dmg rune. I played an Assassin, so he didn't get buffed. Is that the reason you applied a global damage cap? Maybe it's better to add some simple checks to the game code, like calculating how much damage a legit hero can do at his level at best and use that result as an individual damage cap. Also, are you gonna reset the leaderboards? In my opinion many players have abused the bugged tank, which of course was fun but obviously ruined the leaderboards.
It depends on your character. If you have a fast character you should be able to kite him around while ballista towers hit him. Giants are effective against orcs and orc chiefs because of the knock back(which surprising works against them) If you don't have a hero that can take out all the skeletal runners very easily blunderbusses are great for crowd control. If you have a druid points in natures wrath, a fun way to buy time is to send waves of peons and watch them explode when killed, injuring and stunning everyone around.
Question/thoughts about druid Do the lotuses stack and if so how long does each one last? I've been avoiding putting points into them because that was unclear to me. Also it displeases me that the my baby trees count against the population limit. After about ten minutes when I and my barbarian friend were owning, we had a full field, no extra little treemen were popping up, and my saplings were capped and i was
I would enjoy Druid alot more if his Treemen didn't count towards population as much, maybe 1 pop but I think they have to limit it otherwise too many things on screen for a mobile device. The main problem i have with the druid is that his normal attack is such small range and he has virtually no active skills i can spam to attack something. Really agree with many people who agree ranged druid would make more sense. The problem i have with Barbarian is that he just doesn't feel "barbarian" to me, his resilience is low and his AOE is sporadic at best. He doesn't have any decent bonuses compared to Paladin for example who has a crazy aoe stun, 20 second aoe immunity, aoe heal, cheaper troops, damage aura and aoe heal. That is completely ridiculous compared to some other heroes who just do not have nearly as many great skill, just decent or "ok" ones or just "bad" ones.
Both of those characters have more specific roles... Druid is a "pure" support character... his buffs are often global and affect units much more than a paladin can, especially offensively. He can buff an allies damage significantly with his active + saplings + elder druid. He is meant to be weaker in combat, but can still be potent if you use his druid flowers often. But actually, his attack is faster than a Paladin, and he has the same damage and knockback... so really is pretty on par. As for Barbarian, he is a risk/reward character... his offense is second to none once you "charge him up" and thanks to his 3 hit combos. Again, he's a different paradigm that might take some getting used to (his AoE is sporadic because he focuses on singular unit damage)... essentially the more damage he takes, the more you stay in combat, and the lower health he has, the more offensively powerful he gets, which means you'll have to "live on the edge" if you want to take advantage of his strengths. He's the only hero you will want to think twice about actually healing him. He's also essentially an un-armored savage - not sure why his resilience would be on par to any of the other heavily armored heroes like knight or paladin
Good points Foursaken, Regarding druid being a pure support character, would it make sense to give him ranged attack? Him being support i don't see him going up close to bash sculls, it can be a short range like Engineer or shorter than that. On a side note, any chance for a pure "caster ranged" or "pure summoner/necromancer" class? I realize there is a "Lich" in vs, but I would love to see a class that can summon skeletons, or mind control units to fight for you. There was a suggestion of a wizard class that has a teleport ability and can teleport himself on top of your wall or into your keep and fire onto battlefield from there Really cool ideas
I would like to suggest a new building that buffs hero special units - for example, it doesnt have to buff them all equally - -it could offer the paladin healer caster for example some faster rate of fire/can hit wraith (as her damage is very low) -a knight crusader more run speed for example. It could perhaps lower costs for some hero special units across the board (to help offsett its own cost) - you could make this building like 200gold for end game fun -Druid wolf pack, if 3 wolfs in same pack die they birth a smaller wolf pup (rebirth theme) or just buff their damage -Ranger Tree, more defense/attack maybe or cheaper price -Engeneer, more aoe damage (bombs aoe theme) -Assasins can now use "stealth" same as assasin (4 second invisibility every so often) -Berserker special unit does more aoe The reason i bring it up is that we can build 3 buildings max and so far Captains Tent, Forge and Dwarf Hut is standard, this would mix it up. There are many special units that just do not get used much if ever and this might help mix it all up
You need sacrifice. Say you have a Forge, it ups this and decreases something else that you find important. Since from what I'm hearing the buffs of units are just somewhat OP
Finally got to play a few rounds online thank you FS the low graphics setting did the trick. Siege also works now (iPad mini). Yay... Anyone wanna add a relatively new player? Add Daftbomb on GC
I just found a glitch while doing valiant charge against a goblin rider and some goblins on the base of the hill on Corte and in the direction of the base. My character went inside the hill and upside-down. I got a PS, but couldn't upload here from the ipad.
What? No. I like my Forge the way it is. By the way, is the new low graphics option supposed to be for 4th gens, too? My friend downloaded the update and that option wasn't available on it.
I believe not. My iPad 2 has that option, so it could be for higher-end devices, or something of the sort.
The druid has a decent attack but his low health means I have to spend most of the time hitting and running away from virtually anything stronger than a goblin. I have the perfect idea for his ranged ability bird- attack. Wouldn't be awesome just his normal attack being a medium range eagle in your face-Lol.
One more thing- I find myself almost never using the Paladin's special unit- the cleric never seems to catch up with my units that need to be healed. While the pikemen and the captains do a decent job sticking together, I'll usually find the cleric out soloing a bunch of monsters on the otherside of the map, rather than sticking with a ground units or or near the wall to heal wall units. It seems a shame because of how unit oriented the Paladin is that his special unit isn't more useful.
Which is why I consider him useless. While he is quite a good ranged support/DPS unit, you would normally need 2-3 Clerics, which would make 200-400 base or 145-270 (With Inspire maxed) gold. Not worth it. I always go Crusader or Clockwork Defenders. ESPECIALLY the Clockworks. Extremely cheap, and they make GREAT distracters. Awesome tin cans they are. And even if you max them out... Man, with my Veteran, he can hit 400s with maxed Clockworks without the Clockwork ability active. >
