Ok I finally beat level 19 with a druid. I'm not sure if leveling to 12 made a difference, but I figured out a method. If i only made one set of wolves and then all ballistas for the orcs and then all wolves for the snipers and siegers. With enough ballistas I the orc chiefs went down before they could massacre all my wolves. It is really a dance. Oh and I don't remember beating 20 with archers before but they were really useful it was surprising easy. Didn't have to kite the troll or anything, i just sent out wolves sparingly to the clear the skeletal runners build up. I think I usually didn't use range units at that level because the troll throws rocks at them, but the archers were cheap enough to replace where it didn't seem to matter.
Oh did you see my strategy I figured out after like 10 times? The key is to use only enough wolves at the beginning to clear the goblins, just maybe 1 team and then immediately switch to ballistas. and then immediately back to wolves when the first snipers appear. Having a +money rune at the start is really helpful.
@Foursaken Media How does experience gaining work? Does it just increase by a flat amount everytime you hit an enemy with an auto-attack?
In my experience its like this and in order of Most to least 1. Kill units with hero 2. Hit units with hero 3. Units die not by hero whether or not exp scales with damage dealt, or the unit killed i do not know.
Yep, archers are extremely valuable... I've seen a lot of comments that they suck, but they've always been one of my staple units. Yes, they die often, but thats the point of them They're cheap to replace! Its also based on ability usage. But generally DarkNecros is correct... any hit you get on an enemy gives you xp directly proportional to the damage you did (so if you did 50% damage to an enemy and it died, you'd get 50% of his xp). So technically, you don't get any extra xp for killing enemies per se, its just that you did 100% of the damage. We'll look into Druid xp rate.
I've been using archers regularly lately as a build after peons in campaign... I notice they get a buff from the Druids abilities, too... Wish I could plant that tree behind the wall with a long beard they really do rock. I concur with the request for a caster... I especially like the idea of a emperor palpatine esque one. Level 21 was pretty tough as a druid. If I hadn't unlocked the frost mage it would have been impossible because the wraith kills you in like 2 hits, do way could you attack him directly. Even then I tried like 3 different stategies before I realize peons were all i need to keep the enemies grouped and at a distance and then let the frost mage+sapling+long beard combo wreak havok.
Now I'm stuck on 22, the wraith spam level. Even with a legendary plus money rune I can't make frost wizards and peons and repair the walls and deal with those long bows. I tried with plus damage but inevitably I get killed, not enough health.
What's up with the dwarven tank, I really don't think it's worth 400 cash it is only a tiny bit better then a giant and nearly 3x the price. I find if I have 400 cash there are much more things better to buy then a dwarven tank.
Actually aussi, a maxed out tank, combined with a forge, is so OP to the point of game breaking. As THX pointed out earlier, a low level Druid with a tank can last as long as one wants in Hinton endless. It's like the inactivity glitch in 2.0 all over again. Corte endless/coop seem more balanced in comparison.
Am I the only one who wishes for a multilayer mode where two heroes can verse instead? Whether it be both sides having a castle, one side getting invaded, both sides having good minions, one side having good and one side having bad but with a hero, I think it should be implemented.
Bug report It happens very often in a co-op game that I repair the walls which are almost gone, lose the gold accordingly, and after a few seconds the walls get destroyed anyway. Not because of heavy enemy damage but because of lag. And you don't get a refund for your gold. Most of the times that means game over.
I use a 4gs And for some odd reason my assassins passive backstab goes upgradeable from 225, to 200% I've enclosed a picture
