I'm having trouble uploading/downloading from iCloud between my iPod Touch and my iPad. After I finish playing on my iPad, I go to options and upload the save. It gives me an uploaded timestamp and says my iPad's device name. Then I go on my iPod touch and try to download from iCloud but it only has my old save uploaded from my iPod Touch from a while ago, no matter how many times I try to cancel and hit the download button again. Anyone else encounter these issues and have a workaround?
Honestly two brackets, 1-30 and 30+ would be enough, as starting around 30 you have all your skills and can hold your own as a player. Honestly if I'm a lvl99 player I'd rather NOT get a game than get a game with someone below the level of 30.
Wow Foursaken, update sounds awesome! And I agree simple brackets like 1-30 and 30+ would work great. @Sambobsung I'm pretty sure gamecenter doesn't have lobbies.
Level brackets would be ok but I personally don't mind carrying my teammate, still less being carried. I would however prefer not to be matched with overseas players, resulting in significant lag. Any rules or innovation reducing this would be most welcome
Questions and suggestion re Siege Mode Having gotten caught up into trying to craft the perfect rune, I had completely failed to realise (or rather to remember) that one could actually invest crystals into buildings and units and power them up. Not very smart! Anyway I guess I will retract my complaints about the uselessness of units / towers, at least at levels 30-40. The game has once more become the action / strategy hybrid that I have come to love. Ballista tower The evil / siege mode has also become a lot more challenging since I maxed out the good units / towers. In general, this is a good thing as its more fun. However, I am a bit flabbergasted by the damage inflicted by the ballista tower. It takes around 80% of my life away and seems to be able to reach me anywhere on the field, even when I am standing next to the evil tree. Since I maxed out the ballista tower, I have found that I am killed without warning in about half of my Siege games (even though I have full or near-full health bar). Does anyone else have this experience, and if so, how do you deal with it? Unit placement On the topic of siege mode, Ive found that the units you summon tend to appear in different places (some from behind the tree, some halfway down the field). Is this random, or does it depend on some factor such as unit type? Sometimes I summon orcs in order to mount a defence of the tree from a raiding party led by the Paladin, only to find that my minions have materialised in front of the castle walls instead for a fine feast of arrows and blunderbusses blasts. Suggestion re evil heroes Finally, I have a final suggestion to make, this time in relation to siege mode. I find this mode to be slightly less fun than the campaign mode, and I have figured out that the reason for this is because the characters are more generic, with less to distinguish them from each other. Accordingly I would respectfully recommend that, instead of having all powers (except three) assignable to all evil heroes, they should be divided among and allocated specifically to individual heroes. Currently, you can select your favourite powers and pretty much play each evil hero in the same way, unlike with the regular campaign, where the characters are so different (and each with such distinctive powers) that you need to adopt / master a different playstyle with each one. I appreciate that the basket-of-powers approach is probably intended to give players more choice and as a point of difference between the evil and good sides, but ultimately I think the specialisation approach, where each character has a style and personality, is much more rewarding in the end.
Ballista Turrets are definitely a very underrated tower in vs... as soon as you see one, go back and change to mummy. Or you might even want to trick them into thinking you're scared, and let them build up 2-3 ballistas, and THEN switch to mummy... he has a 50% reduction to ranged damage passive, as well as huge HPs which allow him to pretty much shrug ballistas off. Coupled with his base smashing abilities, you can make enough hit and run attacks so that the player will really reconsider building ballistas, or at least temporarily build something else. As for the evil heroes, most of their strength does actually come from their specialized passives... Mummy of course is an incredible tank/siege unit good for breaking through tough wall defenses, skeleton (through his passive upgrades) ends up the strongest 1v1 enemy hero, shaman is a good support all around unit, best used to hit and run heavily armored heroes and units, but also able to take down things like battle academy peon mass easily with his AoE attack. Of course Liche is the support, being able to stack and buff support units unlike any other evil hero... has the potential to be VERY powerful. Anyway, I know its not completely specialized like the good heroes are, but thats kind of the paradigm of evil... flexibility.
Hmm it never occurred to me to switch back and forth between characters in the one game ... if that level of flexibility is the intention thats fair enough, it does form a nice counterpoint to the good side (hmm that might give rise to philosophical speculation too). I suppose the evil heroes may also be more differentiated in their passive abilities than is immediately apparent.
It's a great game, but I can't win any vs matches on multiplayer, it's literarily impossible, twice as I am walking to the guy with my troops it has crashed, the third time I was actually winning it waited until the guy died and the gate closed before exiting. Funny it won't crash when I am getting stomped, the only ones I have won is where the attacker gets bold and dies running back to his tree. I even encountered this kid, his profile picture was a kid so I am just going to guess. He was attacking me and not getting to my wall, then suddenly he runs up with goblins, the ones you kill in 1 hit. My stacked dwarfs and ballistas couldn't kill them, I couldn't even damage any of them. Of course my wall was out repairing his damage. He eventually quit when I killed his tree. I am guessing the tree dying made him think his hax weren't working, either that or the fact his troops were maxed and couldn't kill my wall, he can't spawn more if non die. Just fix the crashes. I am tired of getting curb stomped repeatedly, then being denied repeated wins because the game favors crashing me every damn time.
Ranger. He's my do it all character. He attacks high, attacks far, attacks close and can eliminate almost everything in less than 10 shots.
I logged in to ask a question for the update, and I see Mr. already asked. So +1 on the impatients list .
Haha yeah, it's definitely a rock paper scissor type thing, and all about reacting to the other players moves, like Foursaken said.
