My normal strategy is to build gold up to +4, send out a few blunderbuss and pikemen, then reinforce my walls. Can the bombardiers fire directly at the keep? Because thats how I always fail
Sounds like you have a very weak rune, which would explain why you cant keep up with the enemies Bombers in this case. I suggest you buy some runes to support this awesome developer and try to get a +1 gold income, or damage runes. You should focus on one hero first of all so you can beat campaign and unlock all units/buildings. This will help you alot i think. Try some multiplayer co-op for fast lvling
The concept of this level is that you get a strong enough army to repel lots of the regular enemies while you almost purely focus on the siegers with your hero (they have the iron masks, fyi). My personal build on that level is to get 2 mines, then get about 30 cap of archers. Get a peon squad or 2, and follow them up with blunderbusses. I'll use my hero exclusively to bash siegers, and inbetween doing that I'll take care of any major threats on my wall. Main key here is not to get too pre-occupied defending your wall, and always keep your eyes out for more siegers. Which hero do you use? I think Mage and Ranger are excellent at killing siegers quickly from long range... Hehe, thanks, but you definitely shouldn't need to get a rune to beat that level
There are 2 kinds of goblins that throw bombs/grenades. The first to appear (campaign-wise) is - I think these names are right but not positive - the Grenadiers. They are goblins, so they are short like the other goblins; but no helmet. They have a bag of bombs on their back and they try to run when you go after them. AFAIK, they "only" attack you, units, and walls. That wound be enough to condemn them to hell were they not made to look like effin Mother Theresa by Goblin Siegers. Siegers have some kind of weird backpack thing that sticks up behind their head, and makes them look taller. They have helmets, I believe, unlike their grenadier cousins. They always start by standing in the same spots: right, middle, and left and about even with where the gold mines spawn in the two rock-clusters in front of your walls. Siegers should be genicided; but barring that ability being added in an update, you must do your best to kill each individual Sieger as soon as possible. They go for gold mines first, I think, and can destroy one in 2 throws. You have to take them out as fast as possible. Performing CPR in your spouse? It can wait. Late for an IRS audit, let them wait - everyone who has played this game will understand . two more quick warnings: first, i sometimes lose via my keep being destroyed because I can't find the last Sieger where he is "supposed to be". This can happen modt often when you have mortars, gisnts, or catapults. A single hit won't kill then, but the explosion can knock them halfway across the battlefield - or worse - right up against the wall (very hard to spot). So, if you hear the horn and/or see the warning - keep looking: they are there somewhere. Second, Skeletons with Longbows can hit inside the walls (can anyone confirm that, though? I am not 100% sure). So can catapults. So if its not the Siegers, check for the others. Archers are particularly hard to spot (for me, anyways!). HTH.
Custom messages Someone mentioned this earlier and I think it's a great idea. How about adding custom messages in co-op. Keep the same message slots as now, but allow users to customise them in the options menu between games. This would allow strategies to be communicated, and also tactical decisions during the game. "I'll take the backfield", "you get that troll", etc.
Thanks for that. I'm pretty sure the reason I was losing is simply because I didn't know what I was looking for. Foursaken, thanks for the tips. Ranger and mage are actually my two favorites at this point. Also, I didn't bother mentioning anything because I remembered reading about upcoming crash fixes, but I'm unable to play any mode other than campaign without instant crashing
I saved enough crystals to get the Ranger for free but I decided to give the developers an extra $1 and unlock the Ranger that way. I used the crystals to craft some more runes. I normally don't do IAP but it was done very well in this game. It is not something that feels forced on players. I currently have the first 3 main characters at level 21, 41, and 51. I expect to buy the rest of the characters later too after I level up the Ranger and the Knight more. I have only defeated the game with the Engineer so far. Knight I am about 30% through the campaign, Paladin 70%, and Engineer 100%, Ranger at 5% .
How nice of you. Hahaha Foursaken really did a good job. I just wish they could have their own forum. It's really hard to find the information I need in this thread. There are just too many posts.
Man I already blew like 20 bucks on this game on crystals. And boy, was it worth it. Next game to get will be block fortress
How come when I play co-op sometimes it pauses then we win the game? It just happened twice in a row after 30 seconds of the game. Is this happening to anyone else?
Foursaken Media, could you please inform us when next hero/patch is coming? Any hints /pics you can share? You said the Clockwork Veteran was going to be the only one kept secret, so i assume you will give us some eye drool candy for the upcoming 2-3 heroes? thanks
