Just beat a mummy champ in Versus with my ranger, im completly convinced that a proper ranger CAN NOT be beaten. First he got his mummy skills dropping my 80 damage down to a mere 25 and them send as many runners as he could. ignored the runners and simply fought him using hunting traps to damage/stun him as often as i could while getting 4 income then upgrading to stone walls then 5 income. only once did he hurt me enough for me to drop in get a potion and get out. after 5 income i got reinforced then steel walls all while fighting him and in the mean time he got more armor and health upgrades. after i let him heal up the first time around i made sure to keep the tree dead as much as i could, also trying to keep him closer to my walls than his tree so i could kill it before he gets there. eventually between him not getting a chance to heal and being unable to summon more units because i never killed the ones he had he eventually died, i was also murdering his cultists standards and drums just to toy with him a little longer.
It's not that people think archers suck - its the high rate of death they suffer, relative to the inability to keep enemies in check. I love your game and the concepts you've created for many styles of player, but on the advanced side (as you wrote before), heroes get beyond a certain point and players start looking at the field differently (i.e. cost to damage inflicted ratio). Like anything else, some stuff is appealing early but ineffecient later. I can see where archers have value in the campaign or siege, but they're usually WAY too fragile for hardcore players in the midst of a difficult coop or endless situation.
Sound plan, I've done this before and it created a very long coop game. My name is in my sig, hit me up if you want (my engy is 78 or something like that).
Hey guys, new to the forums and been playin the game for awhile. I'm planning on making the engineer and clockwork vet as my main. any tips on skills to use or stats? My engineer is at 88% crit right now and i'm debating on which skills to use for my CW vet. So far i maxed his twin pistons.
Foursaken, I'd go so far as to request a cap on Clockwork Defenders across the board--solo and campaign. 3 sounds about right. The reason I think this is a good idea is because of their disposable nature--it's very difficult to keep tabs in the heat of battle as to whether a DPS ground unit just died or if a bot just blew. I know there's a graphic showing the buff and that's a fair indicator of when its about to blow, but a limit would make it easy to keep track.
i just watched my hero get killed by motar and ballista towers... i was standing on my wormwood tree. They dont have THAT much range... do they? - just fought rugged's lv 99 pally... i got toasted. after playing a few high level heroes i think the wormwood tree needs its hp increased with greater hero levels or AT LEAST a upgrade for the wormwood tree we can buy.
Is there a limit on clock defender buff? It seems that I can have at most 2 - 3 clock defender's buff at the same time. Anybody tested how many clock defender buffs you can stack?
If you have enough money and by 12 at once, you can stack about 12. Already at level 7 you could do a solid 600 DMG for a fair bit of time.
I bought 12 clock defenders at the same time, but their buffs does not stack. Can Foursaken come out to confirm it?
Try using all of them again at the same time they do stack. Limiting them to 3 at a time in co-op is a stupid suggestion, they take enemys off the walls, they are a great shield for buying time. I know some people have been using them to get massive bonus damage only to kill 100 hp enemys but the people that use them right have a bonus the whole game and still have room for other units.
I kind of think the CV is like a Mummy Champion for some reason. He's beefy, and everything minus run :L
I've done that before. works decently well Personally I don't see blunderbusses as that useful. I think having dreadnoughts and just a couple blunderbusses i better. I cant see anything with all the blunder bus smoke and they suck against necros and trolls and seem to correlate with the game crashing.
I know it's been mentioned before, but wondering if Foursaken guys have any thoughts/plans - regarding toning down some of the graphics. I think the game would still be just as awesome with reduced or completely removed smoke & other effects : blunderbus, cannon etc. Presume that would help with some crashes.
Odd, maybe it's my internet, but I just had like 7 coop games in a row end with me or the other person disconnect randomly. Not to mention two other times where i quit on a low level veteran. Oh well. I have to say, despite the many nerfs to mage, the reduction in tree health makes it super easy to destroy people in versus. The tree doesn't last the initial lightning wave, and if then poor guy is stunned and being burned to death.
Iv had a ridiculous number of crashes around the 10 minute mark in endless on my ipod 5. Before the update this never happened
You are not the only one. I think the ipod 5 has some issues with this update. I have same device, same problem, though im lucky to get passed 30 seconds.
