got the same guy again. He rage quit Well so far the game seems to be more balanced, but then again I haven't faced anyone with highish rep.
the game screen turned black and then went to the homescreen in the middle of coop. Probably a sign i've played to much. Side note: I really hope that whoever the new heroes are, one of them can turn peons into werewolves.
Played some guy with 1780 RP as my Ranger. He used the Mummy rush I almost lost but I focused on economy and upgraded walls. Took 6 minutes for him to disconnect. Fastest win was 0:57 secs XD guy didn't know what he was doing.
I agree, it's tough to play as veteran without your teammate instantly disconnecting. I don't use a single bot when I'm in co-op, but some people are ridiculous, it makes me wonder if they are spamming them intentionally knowing it pisses people off.
Can someone give me the short synopsis on what's up with the veterans bots? I've read through the thread and can't quite piece together what the issue is?
I noticed that you didn't really comment on the the rangers abilities other kind outlining a balance issue. But the point is, no one likes Elven Arrows. It's a rather useless ability and I think I'm speaking for everyone here when I say and ability that alters your arrows for a period of time would be much preferred, such as making your arrows explosive, a much increased fire rate, poison arrows, etc. You know, something more people will use. Maybe even a big bow whirlwind swing to damage enemies around you? Perhaps you could replace the hunters trap with the bow swing, then that arrow "perk" to replace Elven arrows. Also, why must it cost HP to use the Mage's powers?! Balance I'm guessing? Haha
We'll see about a 3-4 limit cap on defenders in co-op. Haha, that was not a problem we were not expecting, but I guess in hindsight its not surprising. I guess I just don't understand why, as its not even a good strategy. As for crashes - I have a theory... anyone who experiences a crash, see if you can take note of exactly what was happening when it crashes (summoning units, using a special ability, catapult shell landing, walls collapsing, etc). Also, anyone else experience hackers that take 1 damage and do massive damage? Not sure if its an actual hack, or a bug... but I just played a lvl 6 Ranger who did just that - 150+ damage per hit and he took 1 damage (which is basically impossible without like 50+ armor). I remember experiencing this a while ago... I think it may be people hacking unlimited SP or something... sigh >_<
Hunting traps! i just had a 28 second win with ranger (level 46, no points in damage just skills hp and armor) in versus. My opponent started as fallen knight, and sent skeles and skele runners as soon as it started whereas i ran out dropped a trap and back up a little and started shooting at him when he started running towards me, bobing and weaveing dodgeing most but not all of my shots. once he got close started dancing around my hunting trap keeping him on the opposite side of it until he hit it and after 2 more shots died. I think that with this update the trick with ranger is hunting traps, use them to keep heroes away from you and give your self an extra layer of protection.
You could hypothetically make them fall into traps. Y'know that leafy part with grass as tall as the traps? I've only done it once, but I lured a guy there and bam, 5 shots dead.
Elven Arrows... look, you might have to play differently to take full advantage of it, but that's how its intended. Just like you'll have to use peons and pikemen to take full advantage of everything knight has to offer (leadership), and just like you'll have to build blunderbusses or riflemen to make use of Engineer's brotherhood. I just think that people think archers suck, so don't build them and assume the ability is worthless, because anyone who has built a wall full of archers and uses elven arrows frequently would know just how much the ability rocks. As for Mage, his abilities take health because they have the fastest cooldown and the most damage output of any hero in the game. The health taking aspect is there to make you think about how and when you use his abilities... you can spam them all you want, dealing super high damage in a short period of time, but then you might just be hurting yourself in the long run when you have to go and heal. Its just an interesting, uniquish mechanic imo.
Elven arrows are moderatly good, but i still regret getting it instead of more hp or damage. Archers simply die too fast and i feel like i pay more gold keeping archers and archer towers up than i do repairning the damnable walls. and if the archers suddenly decide to all fire at the heavily armored unit or a wraith at one time its a complete waste. I think archers should be given a targeting priority to fire at the highest hp unarmored unit cause ive seen EVERY archer and all 4 towers gun down a troll like it was nothing with elv arrows but it just happens too inconsistently and all of them die too fast. Not to mention the short time elv arrows last, stack it with all the other cons and it just doesnt get as much work done as it should. so all in all Elv arrows CAN be great but most of the time it just isn't useful especialy the further and further you get when more and more units hit wall units too.
I guess that makes sense, it's just the fact that its an active ability. But I guess if put to use properly it is utterly devastating. I guess I'll have to do a wall of archers with my ranger, which I have previously only done with my knight. It's just sometimes I prefer to not build units and just build up my wall, and only one set of pikemen or a captain, so then I can snipe with my ranger and rack up a load of xp, and my ranger just felt lacking of another ability. Thank you for your input though. As for the Mage that does make a lot of sense, even if it does get frustrating, but I guess that's the point right?! Haha. But he would be "useless" if it wasnt for the Regeneration passive. Thanks for clearing that up. I really appreciate the time you put into your games to work in perfect harmony and balance in the gameplay. Hahaha. Just for that I'm gonna go buy N.Y. Zombies 2. You're welcome! Also, any ideas on another Hero? Maybe a guy with a machine gun? JkJk But also any plans for a new Evil hero?
It crashes pretty often when my teammate summons a bunch of pikemen/blunderbuss. I sometimes get crashes when I use the charge ability of the veteran. A lot of the time it just happens spontaneously late game.
I want to make a deep run in co-op. I have a plan. I need a partner. Here's what I want to do: -2 high level engineers. I'm a 76. Something in that range would be ideal. -steel walls, 4 mortars -hut, forge, tent -2 repairmen, 1 longbeardman, riflemen -full stack of blunderbusses We need to commit to this and not change. One engineer stays with the blunders and guides chieftains and trolls across the lines, giving the units a buff while keeping an eye out for wraiths. the other stays in the enemy backfield and takes care of cats and archers. When the offensive engineer needs to heal, he can swing back, jump inside the walls, hit it for 75 and jump in line with the busses while the defensive engineer takes his place in the enemy backfield. I was 40 minutes into this cycle earlier and missed a wraith. He killed my entire line before I noticed and everything fell apart. I'm confident that if I would have noticed him sooner, we could have easily hit an hour. Anyone up for this later tonight? More of an experiment, really. It happened organically online earlier today and worked great, so I want to try it out as an actual plan. Hit me up if you want to try...
I see your point, but after campaign 10 there is no need to mass archers anymore, even as a ranger, as there would be more armored/high-hp units that would make them ineffective. When you max them in endless they will take up your unit limit until they're killed which is 80% of the time by a troll with 90% hp because the archers are too weak to deal with. Then you have to deal with an 80%hp troll pounding on your wall until you can kill it.
