Yep. This is true. No plus +3. I can't beat even beat siege now lol. Not even going to try versus. Clock work hero seems fun, but I don't have the patience to play him without using a plus damage rune.
I think your major mistake is play testing yourself and with other people at your skill level. You invented the game correct? Evil should be about just as easy to win as good for the average player against another average player, not only the very best players.
Forsaken In the update it says the trolls cost 1 standard bearer and 3 goblin drummers but it costs 3 standard bearers and 3 goblin drummers. Just bringing it to your attention for the hot fix if you didn't already know Plus my cultists and bearers were taking damage from either catapults or mortar towers and my wormwood tree was still alive is this meant to happen? I didn't see any dying just their health bar was turning red.
Veteran is awesome! Please people, when playing co-op do not spam a dozen defenders at the same time! Also, can Foursaken add a message to tell the co-op partner not to hoard their effin gold. I love when I play with people and they let all my units die until I've exhausted my gold and then they decide to spawn 8 giants at the same time thinking that is a good strategy.
@FM- sorry if this has been asked but was there any tweaks to graphics. Things just look a little different. I can't put my finger on it though?
So about siege. Wraith strategy doesn't work for me. Wraiths are twice as expensive(per actually guy) and money is a lot harder to come by. I still got up a line of wraiths and catapults, but then the knight and one of his crusaders decided to attack my catapults and tree, then it was lights out. I had evil liche up, but they nerfed his ability to raise the dead, and the hero was able to maintain a full wall of archers who killed them as popped up. I guess I should try a few more times to think of another strategy before asking for ideas. But is there a strategy that doesn't require you to be as good at the game as Forsaken? I think I'll stick to playing with the new hero for now.
The best balance is making sure that - assuming 2 players are equal - they both have an equal chance of winning. This is getting close to true now. The worst thing to do would be to place artificial buffs and nerfs on one side or the other based on the average skill level of most players... that is a recipe for disaster, and would require changing balance every patch as the population changes with the game. Is it true that the average player is probably better using Good than Evil? Of course... but then, they aren't equally matched players anymore, are they? Look, the Good side will ALWAYS be easier to play as because you have a whole campaign dedicated to them. Most people spend hours leveling up and learning the Good heroes... this isn't the case with Evil. Also, lets not be too hasty about balance in the first few hours of an entirely new system... We'll check it out, thanks. Nope, nothing changed in regards to graphics.
FYI, we did nerf siege a bit as well. What I'll probably look more into doing is having it get dramatically easier after a certain time period, so that anyone who can survive will be able to beat it... you'll just have a horrible time
I love versus now. All the games I've played so far have went a lot longer then usual. Also it seems that there is a lot less rush down and more standing your ground. Great job guys. I think you've hit it on the head.
on the good news front, stability on my end is greatly improved. just had two near 20 min coop sessions without any lag/crashing.
"The best balance is making sure that - assuming 2 players are equal - they both have an equal chance of winning. This is getting close to true now." "Is it true that the average player is probably better using Good than Evil? Of course... but then, they aren't equally matched players anymore, are they?" These two things conflict with each other. Assuming two players are equal, they should have and equal chance of winning. Average players(not brand new players who've never seen versus/siege before) should be equal matched with each other. Yet average players will have a better chance of winning using good? That isn't balance. "The worst thing to do would be to place artificial buffs and nerfs on one side or the other based on the average skill level of most players... that is a recipe for disaster, and would require changing balance every patch as the population changes with the game." Well, if that is your attitude, you average player won't want to play versus, because they will win easily as good, and lose easily evil. So it won't be fun for your average player. I'm not sure that's a great business model for you. But it's your game. I will give it more tries to see if it is more balanced. Keep in mind you thought it was balanced before, not realizing that as the creator, by definition you are an exceptional player.
cool,I'll try that. When I was playing before the pikemen were eating them up, but I didn't have the goblin hero buff.
Just got third in coop. Could have went so much longer but my partner disconnected. Any high level players wanna try and get first? Send me a invite.
Thanks, worked like a charm. Having the goblin buff and the and a couple drummers really made the orcs a lot more valuable.
