I just backtracked a bit and read the Foursaken post about the changes to VS & Siege... I love how you guys are willing to overhaul the entire system to make it more fun. Sounds like some ambitious changes. I'm really looking forward to checking them out. Thanks again.
Hopefully there'll be a new unit (ground or wall or a castle weapon) that can beat on the wraiths but would be poor against some other units as a balance. But I suppose the challenge of the wraiths keeps it interesting and forces you to actively prowl the battlefield. I mostly one-shot them as ranger, but can imagine chasing them down as a melee hero is a pain
Slowly but surely, I'm getting better at endless pulled off 21 minutes. After 10-20 or so trolls wrecked everything, I just sat there and watched them. I had more than 2000 gold at that point. As they were hitting, I kept on hitting. I knew that if I did anything else with my gold, it'd be my downfall. I guess after the initial troll overload, I can rebuild and wait again right?
I agree. The fun of the game for me is manipulating the units/and castle. There are plenty of other pure hack and slash games, and I don't find those as interesting. One you get to a point where the units are useless it's not fun for me. I get really pissed when I see clerics doing 1 damage to a wraith. If the game was a bit more logical, magical light or fire based attack should be the way to kill a magical creature like a wraith, not a hero whacking at it. All that being said, I think in coop if you have one hero clearing wraiths in the foreground and another clearing cats and archer further out, I think you'd be able to keep an army going pretty far. But usually it crashes before then.
Morning all! At least, EST its morning. Just played a fantastic Coop game with a level 98 Mage. I was a 50-something level Engineer. You are waaaay out of my league so I appreciate the game - it was a heck of a lot of fun for me, though you had to do most of the work ;-). I had about a cumulative -50% on building costs, so hopefully that helped some. We were still rocking pretty good when it Disconnected :-(. I especially liked it when we got a Blunderbuss line up and patrolling but it was mostly Dreadnoughts . Never seen so many trolls on the screen at once - it was crazy sometimes; at least for me! A blast. Sorry we couldn't keep going. We had 30 min and could have doubled it I think. Cheers!
Just saw your post, Rogue, and you are right. In the game I mentioned above, I stayed back to do Wraith patrol and to kite trolls and disco mummy kings back and forth across the front of the castle. The Mage stayed out far and killed cats and everything else he/she could as it came in. It was working great until we crashed and we'd kept a maxed out army up pretty much from 5-10 minutes on, and could have kept it going for awhile. Course, it helps if one of the players is a one-Hero nuclear missile . I probably could have just watched, lol.
LOL... enemies can magically popup outside the walls... why cant they magically popup inside the walls instead? Kinda like how the bad guys put James Bond in traps he could obviously escape from when they could just kill him instead.
Ha ha! Although I hate the wraiths, I guess they're just one of the challenging parts of the game to keep us on our toes. For anyone going for 1+ hours on co-op or endless, what is normally the reason for ending - too many trolls? Or maybe even wraiths (Not that I will be reaching that any time soon :-( )
Exactly. I already said that like 100 pages back. DAMN IT! Does nobody read my posts!? What's wrong with you people?! kidding.
