Cheers, I like the sound of forge/mortars. I've got damage skill as 118, critical 57%. I also use a +1 gold rune which also has -4% unit cost. Thoughts on kiting with ranger?
Ranger is decent for kiting. The only reason the Ranger doesn't last is because once you're hit, you're basically screwed. If you're kiting and enemies are at the wall, set up a trap for the enemies you're kiting to walk on, then run to wall and use fire arrow to clean the mess up. When the kited enemies are not stunned anymore, just keep your distance and keep Criting them :3 the orcs are the only units you need to watch out for though, they're fast and can catch up to you if you don't hit them with bramble.
I tend to end mostly from the keep being destroyed rather dying...but have had a few surprises as my armour level is zero and I have never put SP into health either Ok, so do you find trolls follow you? I start hitting them long range as soon as they appear, but they seem to head straight for the castle - stopping to beat on giants etc that I've deployed, just can't get them to come after me directly? Mummy kings and the orc cheiftans play ball...mostly.
You have to get within their range to follow you. If you're too far out, they just won't bother with you. Never summon treemen or giants or whatever when the trolls are around. They will absolutely wreck. I usually end up dying because I'm kiting usually 1-3 trolls, 3-7 orcs, 2-5 orc chieftans and about 2-3 mummy kings along with many other units. While kiting I take out any cats, wraiths and snipers that I come across while the Bunderbusses, longbeards, rifleman and mortar tower keep them out. I die with so much gold... I don't use gold income runes or anything of the sort just a legendary rune with +35 dmg and +7 armor. I've been putting a few SP in HP and plan to have roughly 459-509 HP at max. 379 base HP at level 99 without any SP. The only SP points I regret spending is for Elven archers.
Thats next update... in fact, they will be indestructable while the Wormwood tree is alive Not anymore >_< With the Wormwood tree aura, would've been too powerful to start with that eco. Now, cultists are actually harder to get, but much more survivable with the invulnerability aura. Meaning, Evil should be a lot more up and down in the span of a single, well balanced match, rather than currently either up the whole match, or down the whole match.
Ok cool, will give this different tact a go to try and bust through the legendary 17 minute mark - well, it'll be legendary for me anyway Agree on Elven Archers, that's 10 SP that would have been nice to invest elsewhere. Would be great if it was more useful. Maybe it should apply to ballista which is a giant arrow I guess, or even it it applies to your own arrows.
^^ 18mins 24 secs! Ha, so it worked Mortars, forge and threw in a few catapults for good measure. Got frantic when a steady stream of trolls poured in and then busted out a load of treemen. I think my downfall was not spotting a wraith at the castle wall distracting and wasting 3 treemen - hate those!
Every single time I play endless, I last one more minute. I had 1400 gold when the Trolls came. The Mummy kings got me >_> was going in to heal, then I died. I had about 200-400 gold left just for repairing castle walls. As I kited, I kept hitting the trolls. Whenever I play Co-op, the people I play with get like battle academy and start spamming peons <_< so annoying :L Oh and every single time I play Endless I level up
Maybe if Elven archer became Elven arrows, maybe it'd be a better skill. Like if it were elven arrows, it'd apply just to you and you'd shoot x2 fast. Only for 5 secs now that'd be a good skill.
To me the wraith is what takes the fun out of unit combat. Too many of them make the game a losing prop for anything but kiting and stall tactics. If wraiths could be taken out by units, it would make the warfare concept a lot more engaging. As it is, the wraith works like a cheat by the developer to prevent the game from being a longer one. One wraith undetected can destroy an entire group of high priced units, and the more units you buy, the more wraiths you seem to get. It's probably just coincidental, but it seems to be the case.
Hey guys, I'm new here and just want some tips for level 19 of the campaign. I've looked around and couldn't find anything that worked for me. Is this the right place to post such a topic?
I am using the Ranger (level 14). With a Silver Rune of the Silver. My attack is above 50, HP is 200-ish. Armor is 7. Everything else is base. I have every skill unlocked.
