Not sure about that. Even at 99 the max level seems a bit low. For many people the fun decreases the minute you can't level up your heroes anymore. I'd rather see you fix the scaling issue by increasing the enemy stats alone the way, something like IB's NewGame+ mode or some kind of hardcore mode. It's harder to implement but would increase the replay value of the game. For VS, the current scaling model seems to work, and with the economy issue addressed with the next update, it's more or less balanced IMHO. For Endless, you can keep pumping out tougher enemies as time goes on, or come up with a kill based leader board. The strategy for kill vs time based score can be quite different.
Ok, so I'm having trouble with seige mode. I have yet to win one. I've tried a number of different tactics - upgrading my hero, sending out tons of low end mobs, using a mix of low end and high end mobs, using lots of energy summoners (had up to 7 a couple times). But every time, the AI amasses a huge number of units (like 10 blunderbusses, 10 archers, 20-30 peons, 5-10 polearms, and a captain or two) about 3-4 minutes in and just overruns me. Once they get to my energy summoners, it's all over. I think one thing that would really help is making it so those guys don't spawn so far afield - they should be near the back of the map. In any case, how do I prevent that flood of units?
i really hope we will not see that i think the game is cool as it is now. i invested a lot of time to maximize my heroes, and i really enjoyed to do it. it was the best part of the game. btw, endless shouldn't be... endless?
You need to get shades out, they sort out everyone and once you have shades out you've pretty much won if you don't go out and kill yourself. So just build cultists and low units to keep the hero busy while you build you flag bearers and work your way up to getting shades out then once you have a few shades out you can do anything you want
If you want to see how much RAM your device has and is using, get ActMonitor, it tells you all that stuff and what not.
Or that same strat except spam goblins or ghouls to keep him occupied, build up enough to get the spider hero and the 3rd ability. Then spam orcs and goblins. With 20/20 goblins and 3 goblin drums your orcs hit for 500 crits on the wall, and murder any hero/troop. It's awesome to watch. Also a good strat in VS, might be more viable with the change in this upcoming update.
Hi all, Maybe old news, but lately I have had few (almost no) connectivity problems in co-op, but all of a sudden my game crashes out to the iPhone home screen in the middle of a coop battle. This had not happened to me before, but now I can't complete a co-op game. Nothing has changed on my iPhone otherwise, I don't think. I didn't install the last update for the iPhone yet, maybe that's the problem? Is this something new and/or rare? Or is it just new to me and addressed with the other MP fixes that are on their way? Oh, sorry: its an iPhone 5G running iOS 6.1.1.
I'm hoping that last bit about character level is a joke. I think that you should focus on fun and content as priorities and don't nerf your customers that sunk the most time into your creation. Perhaps a greater consideration for playtesting and balance can be given to the inevitable sequel OR, as rugged stated, downplay the significance of endless by making more play modes that are balanced with the way things are currently tuned. One last cool idea: a reverse wraith that heroes barely hurt and units are needed to destroy. That will single handedly make endless much less endless.
Wraiths make it fairly easy. Just one or two purchases is enough(3-6 wraiths) Once you've managed that, you can also try necromancers instead of wraiths. It's more difficult but doable. The main thing is getting something out that can handle pikemen. mummys are a good choice to absorb damage before the the pikemen come out, but after that they aren't very useful.
Maybe in future updates you guys could come up with an equip system. You could get equips after every battle that gives certain bonuses (things such as Crit or starting gold, something like that) No crafting of the equips, you'd have to farm them or something like that. Maybe. Just maybe. Also how about a 2 v 2 siege mode? Both teams share the same economy. Also more chat options.
yup this, also lowering the potential time limit on coop won't be that great. This game gives the chance to level up and strive to constantly improve the timers. If the max limit gets nerfed to 20-25 minutes there won't be much insentive to go for Personal Bests, which is one of the main pulls on this game. On top of that, with the option of quitting the game and still getting XP if any one gets bored they can still quit and not loose out on anything. Skill resets are needed for those who have lost a few points here and there into the endless pit of no return, but to make a skill reset take away 50 levels is almost like punishing the people who have played the most... Who are also the most likely group to recommend the game to others. Now I might be alone in this line of thinking, but having a large gem cost for skill reset would have a simillar effect but not cripple the time and effort it would have taken to get to level 99 and nuking those players back to half way. It would also potentially make players who had skill points dissapear feel punished a little bit for something not of their own fault while the hackers can jump up to 99 and get an even bigger advantage than they already have on the levelling front. That would definitely be a buff to the hacker camp. I've seen other companies do simillar things to their game and it has more often than not gone against them in terms of popularity. Not many games on IOS that could genuinely be considered hardcore and time consuming, this is a perfect niche game and one of a kind and for me that is the exact draw. Personally again, I already have 1000 other limitless games that drop off between the 10-20 minute mark, definitely don't need another one at that. There are too many of those types to chose from and not enough of this. 999 of those no longer reside on my ipad Play it well and this isn't anything but a game changer for the IOS platform itself which can show all those washed out freemium games how do do premium, not sting their customers and still retain a decent R.O.I (assuming that is the case currently)
Just throwin this out there but vs mode is still broken. The good side will always win if they just constantly kill all the cultists every time they are respawned. Eventually the good side will have too much money compared to evil.
I am really disappointed forsaken, I can't start a SINGLE CO-OP MATCH ON A IPOD TOUCH 4G 64 GB!!! I have never tried it before even though I bought this game like at launch, I have even bought every single restorable in-app( exept Mage cuz I have no money ATM) and now that I finally decide to play online it crashes. Is this happening to other 4g users, I have become " a fan" ever since heroes came out. It's also not fair that I can't get legendary runes because of the unstable multiplayer match. I have decent Internet please help me forsaken!!! BTW block Fortress looks neat so I am planning on buying it. Please reply.

Apparently they altered the cultist/resource scheme to make it more balanced. We won't know if that helps until update is out. As it is now, I don't really feel like playing versus. I haven't lost playing on the good side, and evil side is pretty tough to win against experienced players on the good side.
I'm a level 41 ranger and have maxed out the skills I want already and want your opinion on how I should spend the rest of my future SP. should I go pure attack or should I go every 5 levels 20 HP? Because at level 99, the archer only has 379 HP if you don't put anything in. Or should I also invest a little in armor as well? I'm using a legendary rune that gives me +35 attack and +7 armor. Any tips?
