Farming runes was much easier prior to the first update. Anything more than 20 minutes or so pretty much guaraneed a legendary. Now, they're a little harder to come by, but co-op and endless seem to be the way to go. I've completed a few games of siege since the most recent update and I've been rewarded with a couple of crystals. I'll probably play a few more games tonight to see if any runes pop up. In fact...
It is by far the best rune stat, however, a high level character with tons of damage output is great for extended defense of the two outside gold mines too. I'm now finding it easy to hit the hour mark (even did it with a mid 30s Mage), but tacking on that extra 20 minutes is where it gets super tough. I'm curious to see what the new characters will offer in terms of power level.
How are you hitting an hour with a 30 Mage? Is it basically just build up economy and only build wall defenses while kiting everything? Should I ignore ground troops in favor of storing gold?
Archer's passive bramble and active fire arrow skills make it so awesome :3 clearing out 10-30 enemies in one shot always feels amazing. Bramble is good at slowing pretty much everything and anything down Useless skill is elven archers .-.
Yeah, Elven Archers is poor. It's ok early on to buy a little time (and looks cool), but really not needed. I'd like each hero to have some new abilities, and then you get to select 3 passive and 3 actives to deploy from a pool of 10 (maybe). This is in addition to new heroes, new game modes, new enemies, new units and loads of new stuff - endless extra content please!
Thanks man. My GC hasn't updated anything the last 2 days, and this one didn't register either . Happened to my other games too. Apple GC is such a POS.
Foursaken: Can you provide any info on the update you submitted yesterday? I'm super stoked to play with the new hero and not have my co-op games crash! Thanks again for the great game and great support!
Mage is special since tons of damage comes from his abilities. I couldn't pull that off with another class. Anyway, no, do not neglect to build an army. Just don't cling onto it when it becomes too hard to sustain. Specifically, keep your troops at least until the siege machines are cleared.
here are my legendary runes thus far... seems like a lot of my rare ones are better: -20% unit cost, +200 health -4% unit cost, +100 starting gold -20% building cost, +20 starting gold -20% building cost, +5 damage -12% unit cost, +35 damage only the first and last are good i think.
iPAD vs iPHONE. have you with iphones and ipads found it easier to play on one device over the other?
We're doing some last minute testing today - want to make sure there aren't any issues, as there are a few notable changes... speaking of the next update, along with the 2 big additions of the new hero and MUCH better multiplayer stability (that is - in game lag should now be practically gone in all but the worst scenarios), we're also adding another major balance change for Evil... Along with a few unit price tweaks to make it so certain units are more in line with their effectiveness, we've done a few things to their economy - not necessarily a buff, per se, just more of a slight rework: - Your Wormwood Tree now generates +2 Dark Energy, giving you a standard +3 income with no cultists - Cultists are now maxed at 4 (giving Evil the same maximum economy as before) - Cultists are now a bit more expensive, and their cost scales quicker Basically what this does, is it makes it so Evil will be able to maintain at least a mediocre economy even in the worst of rushes, while also removing some of their "max eco" overpoweredness by making it harder to actually get out all of your cultists - should now be more of a gradual progression instead of hitting that slippery slope where you've got the Good player on the ropes, you spam out max Cultists, and proceed to just spam out a ton of high level units. Basically this should keep the battles in more of a "middle-ground" state, keeping things more interesting. As for the update after THAT - its looking like there will be 3 new heroes (+ special units), 4-5 new allied units, 7-8 new enemies, and a full new campaign in a new environment That will of course take a bit longer, but lots of new stuff to come We're also looking to release a separate free version soon... will probably be the full game, but only let you only play as one of the 3 starting heroes - so if you've got friends who don't like to spend $$, get them ready to download soon!
Foursaken, the update after this one sounds like Heroes & Castles sequel! Much appreciated! And yes, I've played a few games on the iPhone, it's fine if that's all you have - but once you play it on an iPad, any smaller device feels a bit clunky and claustrophobic.
When the game came out I was playing on iPhone 4. Then I purchased an iPad mini. It is playable on the iPhone. But honestly the mini is almost made to play iOS games on. It is almost weightless in your hands. I find it to be much more comfortable than my wife's iPad. Anyway play however you can or whatever suits you.
