I use kiting as an offensive strategy and not a defensive one. I'll kite trolls and such only to give my ballistae clean shots at obvious targets. As soon as my kite strings are dealt with, I'll kill wraiths, let the towers and wall units take care of everything else and run back to pick up my next set of strings, kill ranged units and repeat. Spamming giants during this cycle helps with non-wraith enemies at your walls, but at a certain point, even they become useless and you just have to let the damage build up until the last minute and repair. The idea is to keep the more powerful siege units away from the walls and to let other things kill them. Another point is that I tend to use an engineer, so I don't have to get as close to the big enemies to get their attention. Maybe with the paladin, this is more difficult, but killing a couple skeletons isn't really a big deal in the long run.
is there any rune with hp higher than +2hp/sec? like, let's say, +4hp/sec? i thought that if i will improve the armor for my ranger, the damage will be much lower. with my +32 armor rune, i have armor 78, but to be honest, the damage taken is almost like with 46 armor, at least this is my conclusion. off topic - i just saw the last foursaken game, Block Fortress, cool game out march 7, and i just say, are those guys ET's or something?
Have yet to finish a multiplayer game on my iPad 1 But on my iPhone 4s only 2 crashes out of 15 games so stability after the update is waaaay better. Can't wait for next update. Look outfor my crash logs in the next few days. Keep up the good work
I don't use any other weapons but my hero. Can't. The game is geared to send wraith waves to wipe out ground units. Mortars are down almost immediately once trolls start showing up. I save it for wall repair and rely on whatever hero to do the dirty work. After 40 minutes, no unit is effective but the heroes, usually. Besides, if I can save 2 or 3 thousand gold for wall repair, it ensures longer survival. It does get ugly trying to run back and forth though. But ranged units are bigger enemies than what's on your wall. Until the very end at least.
another exp question...do you get experience when your repair drones fix the wall? I know you do when you have say a eng and you use fortify but what other defensive moves get you exp points?
I have a +2/+1 hp rune, so they do happen. I don't use it though, in favor of damage or gold, depending on what I'm doing. Rangers aren't good up close and personal heroes though, unfortunately.
yes. someone says here that he have 86 armor and his hero [i don't remember which one] is pretty much a tank, that he take very little damage even from the giant troll. honestly, when the troll hit my ranger, take 90-100 from my hero life even with my +32 armor rune.
Rune crafting with new patch I went ahead and tested the rune crafting (with improved odds), and got this back: 252 runes crafted with 14 legendary given for a percentage of around 5.5. So it's better than it was, but don't expect miracles. Some of the rare ones crafted exceeded the ability of legendary runes, for what it's worth.
Trolls only have a base AP of .3 (which means they can only pierce 30% of your armor), with base damage of 100-150. That means 32 armor will save you about 20 points of health. 80 armor will save you 50+ points of health. Generally though, basic armor is more effective against low - mid damage units because its a straight subtraction. FYI the true percent is 12% for a legendary.
Doesnt hold true for me... Over 100 runes crafted and i only have 3 legendary runes crafted. I have 4 legendary runes in total, but 1 was from multiplayer coop pre-patch.
Ouch. Definitely didn't do that for me. Although enough rare ones were gotten that it made it a fairly inexpensive exercise.
Yep, definitely on the updated version downloaded yesterday. I ran it again for another 100 runes and got 6 legendary.
I've asked the same question and expected a bigger discussion. Mortars are much more durable and probably more effective because of the AOE. Ballistas are ace at taking out big enemies. It depends what you want to use the towers for, I suppose. Either to help maintain the battlefield or to target specific high-risk enemies. I don't usually mix them up. I tend to go one or the other with all four. Usually ballistae. Once the game escalates, they're all a waste, so I stopped struggling with it.
Co-op game abruptly ends Anyone else experiencing co-op games that end suddenly and go to the summary screen (screen with total enemies killed, time...etc). This has happened to me with full health for keep and the heroes, game just ends out of the blue. Different than when your co-op partner disconnects, you at least get to keep playing when that happens. This has only happened since the update. Anyone else?
