holy smokes! you're killing me guys. just when i spent many hours finishing the campaign for each hero because i am a perfectionist you give us more! and now i will never sleep!!! ps - i also think one will be a girl
going to have to agree here too. i love all the animations but brambles is too much. makes me think my traps are being set off everywhere. also a small request, can we have certain notifications tailored? just say i really would love it if i knew when longbeard, captain got killed or a repairman. thanks.
Some ideas for new Runes*: These are to modify various factors that really affect your gameplay, but that are not currently adjustable by the player in any way - not that they should be particularly accessible, of course. +1 Max Engineers +4/5/8/10 (or whatever makes sense game balance wise) Population Maximum for Wall +4/5/8/10 (same) Population Maximum for Ground +1 Tower Slot -10%/20%/etc. Skill Cooldown time <Hero Ability> Granted This one is a little more "out there" but I still think it would be cool: a rune that adds one of the Passive or Active Skills from the total pool of all hero abilities. There would be one for each unique one and they would be very rare. If you get one that us for a skill your character already has (a ranger finds TRAP, for example), It could do nothing (too bad!) or it could double the effectiveness (happy players)! One-time Use Runes I don't know, obviously, what the underlying code and data are like, so this could be waaaay harder than I think; but maybe it would be easy, too . The idea being that you can savwvrhese as long as you want, but when you finally use it, it is good for only that one battle; or perhaps any time a particular hero plays one partucular level (on campaign) or naybe its inly goid gir a certdin time period (in Multiplayer) or a set # of battles. These would be things like (these are just off the too of my head. I am sure you and the others on this thread can be more creative than I!): Respec Rename Bonus skill points granted Bonus XP granted Invisibility (with time limit) TimeFreeze (for a short duration, freeze everything but hero to look up the queen's skirt; I mean, to get out the Troll Chief /Necro/wraith trap you just walked into. This would be like when it lags badly in Co-op, but your hero can run around like normal - except you actually do damage when you shoot, he he. Here's my favorite of the bunch: Cursed Rune Abilities. What? Who wants that? Am I on drugs? - maybe, maybe not. Hard to tell, but the Atari 2600 paddle controller that is acting as my spirit guide today says no, I am not. The idea here is that players could get a rune with a REALLY good buff; better even than legendary; say, +3 gold, or -50% unit cost, whatever. But the catch is, there is always a second ability (like most have now) but that 2nd one is a negative buff or a curse or whatever you want to call it. So the player has to decide if +50% Crit is really worth the -15 Armor, or the -50% hit points or something. You could have fun with it too, and have ones that put a ball and chain around the Hero's foot so he is slowed it can't run. And other such touches. the ball & chain in partucular could be funny: in coop: "Get off my chain! Drop my balls you cursed Ranger! And other stuff to help you earn your new rating . I think most of these would probably have to be legendary but I could see how maybe you could do Red or (maybe) yellow varieties in the same vein. That's it for now; more brilliant ideas later. Or maybe really crappy ideas - its a fine line . Oh wait, I almost forgot - I also figured out how you guys can just cash out and all live in luxury and never have to work again (except the job of hiring someone to count all your giant wads o' cash): sell a rune through IAP, or even just make it one you could find but very rare, that is do desirable, players will take out 3rd mortgages to buy it or the crystals for crafting: GOBLIN SAPPER GENICIDE (no goblin sappers for that battle). I have $1,000 ready to wire you when this is ready. Heck I don't even need to play - I will pay just for the chance you'll let me watch the cut scene where all the Goblin Siegers are invited to a conference for the most hated living virtual heings, except its a trap and every single one if them gets napalmed by about 100,000 F-18's. in slow-mo. And then I get to blow the horn. Unrelated, but I have to end this soon to go to an appointment with the local mental health clinic. Thanks for the great game and continued development! Cheers! Ssbibliophile *because with the appeal of Apple's random request, and the soon to be released major update with an incredible amount if content - it seemed like you guys at FM didn't have enough to do and were maybe suffeting from some "developer's block" or something ;-) ;-).
Scenario: Level 1 Paladin versus Skeleton with maxed out everything, except armor. *Attack, run, repeat* Win. Level 99 Paladin vs. Skeleton Paladin wins automatically, the rest of the game is just to see how fast skeleton can be beat. *After the update* It's legit! No moore infinite knockback loops.
Hello everyone! I'm a first time poster but I've been lurking since H&C came out. Foursaken - WOW. Well done! This is FAR AND AWAY the best iOS game I have ever played and I prefer it to many console games I own. You guys rock. Seriously. Also, thanks for the massive update so soon after the game released. I can't wait for the next one. I have a couple things I've noticed that I'm sure you already know about but just in case: 1. The game becomes really laggy for me when I try to listen to my itunes library though the options menu. Not a big deal but I'm always trying to tear through new music and I love the idea of being able to destroy skeletons while rocking out to Gojira. I have an iPod touch 4th gen, so maybe thats why. 2. Uneven difficulty. The campaign, I'm sure by design, is SUPER FREAKING CHALLENGING, and its AWESOME. I'd rather beat a level on my 15th try than be able to spam Pikemen for an easy win and I've found that typically I need to play the levels 2-3 times before unlocking the key to victory. This is great. However, the last 5 stages or so I was able to breeze through without much trouble. Maybe this is because I just got better at the game, but I feel like they could have been a little harder. Also, lvl 19 is BRUTAL with the Ranger. I haven't managed to beat it yet. 3. Siege mode. I can't seem to get the hang of this. The longest I've lasted is 3 minutes before the enemy AI destroys my tree. I don't know if it's a balance thing or I just can't figure it out. Any tips? Thats about it, love the game, love the fact that you guys are involved in the community and actively pursuing improvement. Many thanks, I expect to be playing this game for a long time and will gladly dish out some shekels everytime you guys add new content. Speaking of which, I read that you guys have another big update coming... are we talking months here? Weeks? Days? HOURS??!?! I'm stoked to play with new heroes. To the expert players: I've beat the game with: Engineer Paladin Mage I'm close with the Knight. Stuck on lvl 19 with the Ranger. HOW THE HECK DO YOU BEAT LVL 19 WITH THE RANGER??!??!?! Also, is siege mode playable? I can't figure it out...
There are plenty of tips/hints in this thread about key to beating siege mode. Figuring it out is part of the fun, and once you do it seems easy and you lose interest quickly.
How to beat the siege mode: summon a few goblins. Summon cultists. When goblins die, summon some more of them. Always keep the AI entertained with something... Until you've got enough money to get 4 flag bearers. Then just start summoning wraiths.
Here's a random idea: sandbox training mode Its the same as siege mode with one difference: you can play as evil or good. You change between good and evil just with a simple press of a button. I think it'd be great for learning & experimenting. There would also be a "infinite gold/dark energy" option. What do you think?
The issue with Siege mode is it doesnt follow the same rules as your typical VS game, you can tell this by going behind the walls of the AI hero and seeing he has no gold mines. They should have a Siege mode with you being able to play as the hero, I'd like to try some strats on my engineer and knight without losing ranking points, right now siege mode is just a broken version of the VS mode, and definitely needs to be fleshed out in the future.
I come seeking help. Been doing Ranger all the way up until level 19 q.q What rune did you guys use and what strat did you use to win? I'm using a rune that gives me 30+ damage :/ This game is amazing.
How many games have you played? (you can check that when you click on the "prize" icon next to the "Versus" button)
Well considering at least 3 of the top 15 right now are cheaters, and at least another 3 don't play anything but their 30+ rangers, I'd say I'm not too shabby. What hero do you play as?
Just beat lvl 19 with the ranger. The key was Giants. I wouldn't have thought it but their attacks knock back the Orcs and give the Ballistas enough time to pick them off. BOOM
Since nothing noteworthy came out this week I decided to support this game and purchased the costume pack. HEROES AND CASTLES or DEATH!!
A question to all for endless... Generally what buildings and units are you buying? Tips to maximize duration would be appreciated. I'm buying in this order for endless: 5 gold mines Steel walls 3 repair men 4 ballista Longbeard Max riflemen Captains hut Spam giant Dwarven hut
Possible bugs: Engineer skill/criticals throw a giant black smoke screen where i cant see 80% of my screen afterwards for a little while, Critical hits on some heroes make the screen flash white, which is VERY VERY annoying and gives migraines when you have high crit rate and play for longer periods of time. Think of players with some forms of epilepsy or similar sensitivity to these types of things... Developers, can you please give us an option to disable these "crit " effects, i really do not wish to watch the screen flash white or see this giant black smoke after a critical hit... was this a design decision or an overlook?
