Of course... The Mage is unbalanced.

If you see that I'm not near the tree then just: fire, frost, lightning, fire and I'm dead before I can get to the tree. If I'm standing by the tree, then kill the tree and repeat the above.

The biggest problem of the evil side are the bearers, not the cultists. If the hero attacks them, you have no chance.

The rematch! Good game, lasted a while and you almost got me as a surprise rush, the mage really is tough in pvp. Now that I leveled the regenerate, I don't really run back, so I can be extra annoying.

Yeah, pvp is too imbalanced I think. I played like 5 players in between playing you, and they all rushed me and died in less then a minute or dced. (somehow I haven't been forced to be evil yet)

Ouch. Ranger might be OP in PVP, but I can't say I'm having a great time getting him through the campaign, even with his current capabilities. I had a much easier time with my Engineer, both in Campaign and in Coop. If you're going to nerf the Ranger that hard, I guess I'll have to hope to get mine up to a high level before the new rev hits, or I should just drop the character and start leveling a Mage now. I agree with nerfing the Ranger when playing in siege mode or PVP, but the nerf to spread shot capabilities really takes a lot away from his ability to handle short range threats.

It's actually kind of hard though to kill the tree as a mage, as the melee attack you have to be in striking distance of the hero, freezing it does nothing, lightning is unfocused and burn is needed for the hero in case he charges you.

You should be happy I even played against you :D

I'd be happy to play some more matches with you to find a good strategy against mages (if there is one). Rush is a good strategy unless the hero starts attacking your bearers and units instead of defending his walls.

Maybe it's because people just don't like playing pvp mages, or over leveled them(to where they aren't as useful), but they are a bit OP and will probably receive more attention for being OP.

I suggest giving the evil hero an ability to to buy frost or flame armor abilities(one or the other, not both) to give them ability to ward off one of the spells- Maybe under the goblin shaman? As it is now, as a mage, I can use all three spells against the enemy hero even if he has spent time upgrading his abilities and kill him pretty easy. I'd rather them give the enemy hero some options than nerf the mage.
Oh, and maybe wind armor option to shield him against projectiles like the rangers arrows?

Just played against a Knight (around level 30). He just came up to me and killed me in an instant. I think he did like 700/900 damage in one hit.

I saw that he has 1784 RP, so either he is using an exploit, or he is a hacker.

Hey there, just played against you and I was wondering what happened in that game... I don't usually play like that, I just felt like fooling around by running up to you and scaring the crap out of you... I just hit you one time and it showed victory for me. I really hope you didn't lose any points!

Cheers from the top legit player in the world.

I don't think we should be referring to the leaderboard to see who is the best. Not with all the balance issues.

    Mainly the Knight.

Thanks dude! I have a tough time with those orc cheiftains.

Mainly because they kill me too quick, and my units are too bad to take them on.

Finally finished campaign with ranger - my first actual finish, so can bust out endless mode now.

Levels 21 to 29 were mostly a breeze compared to 19 and 20. Level 29 seems like a good one to grind for experience - not many ranged units (?) and the right amount of manageable mentalness going on.

Level 30 was tough, just one wall left with the two trolls focussing on that (rather than battering the keep thankfully), just squeezing out peons, and finally ran to the back field to go maximum damage with ranger - as they were ignoring my invite to kite!

Ended on Level 34 Hero, 184 Health, 77 Damage, Armour zero, Run 13.2 and Critical 40%. All abilities maxed except one level of Elven Arrows. Legendary rune used most was +150 starting gold.

Happy now! Sorry for long post :)

Heh, I told you guys a while ago that Mage was way more powerful than Ranger :p Its just you don't see as many Mages out there.

As for those skills, not a huge fan (already thought about them, actually). What we don't want to do is have hard counters to heroes... can you imagine what a Mage would be able to do against a beefed up enemy hero when none of his abilities work against him? He would just die...

We've done a few things for the next update that should help balance Mage a bit... as well as added a few enemy hero tweaks.

We're also looking into the super high level hero balance (too much gold for evil when a hero is level 30+). There will still be a scale up, just it will get smaller and smaller the higher the level of the good hero is.

Yeah, I was trying out different strategies, just to realize there is no strategy that works against a hero that knows how to play the game.
The cowardly thing of you was that you disconnected when I wanted to be on the good side...

Well it was a combination of having played what, 7-8 games in a row? My son was playing puppy and spilled his "puppy water dish" all over the floor. That, and the fact i played almost exclusively evil until I was in the top 25, and recently been having fun playing my knight. I just didn't feel like playing again, esp with evil. So I guess that makes me a coward...

I come on here and make a point of telling you good games and you start with the name calling?

It's just a video game, man.

Edit: Oh and there has been a couple different strategies that beat me. One by "arkalaky" and one by the guy with Chinese letters for a name, and one by another guy i forgot his name. Actually I think I figured a counter to aralarky's strategy if I ever get to play him again. So my knight is definitely not unstoppable. And for the record, for others reading, my strategies weren't cheap, I don't think I took one swipe at your tree in all those games.
