Alright, guys, I really should get to what I need to be doing. xD It's been super fun and maybe I can play some more matches again this weekend or something! Peace out! (lol, peace out)
I have tried literally hundreds of iOS games and this has been the first one in a long time to really get me excited. I love the basic concept of blending action/RPG elements with tower defense, a bit reminiscent of Dungeon Defenders, but with a more "realistic" art style. The feel of combat is much more immediate for lack of a better word, I really feel like I'm down in the trenches with my troops. The game feels immediately accessible, but still challenging and even difficult at times. After several hours of play, not a single crash or technical issue, too, which surprised me a bit given the complex 3D environment. Kudos to the developers. Huge thumbs up and highly recommended for fans of the genre(s)! Edit: like the other guy above I spent $1.99 on extra IAP mostly to support the developers. To me this is easily a $20 game were it for PC or another platform. Some minor suggestions: - Make the skills for upgrade more obvious, I never scrolled down and didn't notice/find them until Level 7 lol - Make xp a stat that you can see between battles. I didn't even notice the xp bar in the main battle screen (which is actually a great thing in general because it means I'm not focusing on levels) but I'd still like to get into the details a bit more More difficult suggestions: - Is there some way to make the effect of ranged defenders more obvious? I can't tell often enough what is going on with the archers and shooters, I almost feel like they are a waste of money. - Since there's no loot per se, it would be cool to have other ways to get runes, like maybe some random ones you could hunt for during battles. - Also would love to see a guaranteed upgrade system on runes a la Diablo, 3 commons = 1 uncommon, 3 uncommon = 1 rare, etc New class suggestions: Sorceress Battlemage Assassin Druid Summoner
Couldn't agree more! Fantastic fun playing this one, and I feel like it has the depth of an old school console game!
Can anyone tell me what those two icons on the top right (the boot and the wall) mean? I thought the boot stood for the population but found it inconsistent (i.e. sometimes when I could build no new units because of the limit it showed 0/50). A help section will all the info texts would help too
No, you're correct. 0/50 means that you have used 0 out of 50 (max) population. 25/50 would mean you currently have 25 pop of units out, out of 50 max pop.
Wall unit population (archers, riflemen, etc). The boot is only for ground units. And again, we'd like to thank all these awesome impressions and reviews!
Ah I see, no wonder then. So the population limit consists of ground units + wall units right? It's a bit confusing that both numbers show a "/50".
Haha, the funniest thing just happened to me. I was in the middle of a battle (losing heavily...) and then I got trapped into my own wall (when rebuilding it). I though that it's game over but then I managed to control everything out of the wall and I won at the end without even being out there
A few things I can think of that would be cool. First I'd like to be able to zoom the camera out a bit just so I could see the enemy's around me easier. Also some way of customizing your character would be cool, like new weapons/shields or armour pieces etc. I'm only up to level 7 and its started getting pretty tough but I'm enjoying it. It's got something about it that keeps you hooked.
Btw, I figured out that you can do a hard reset of upgrade choices by uninstalling, but that does reset everything. As far as Peons being useful, I've found that to be true earlier on but as soon as orcs show up they are just screwed. I have watched an orc cut down 4 squads of them that bundled around him. Maybe that would be fine if their AI did not tell them to gather around such an AOE powerhouse. 4 squads is too much gold lost for one orc, and I could not reach them in time to kill the guy first.
Just thought I'd share this since I just discovered it. But you can equip the same rune stone to all three characters! Instead of just grinding to finish a level I was stuck on I thought I'd go back and start doing all the levels with all three guys. And it's pretty cool doing so as they all have a real different play style, with the bonus of all your upgrades carrying across all characters. Just keeps getting better and better the more I play.
