invuln is your best ability, hands down. that plus the auras make your pikes pretty much invincible, if you're throwing in even a rank1 stun and heal now and then. pally best leveling imo is rank1 everything, then max invuln. after that, it's a choice of active heal or aura regen. the -unit cost thing is pretty sweet, but the real key to paladin is keeping your troops alive, not how cheap they are to summon in the first place. once you have 20s of invuln and a heal, you can wipe out just about any threat with some pike support.
Yup, they're used. I really use Pikes with Pally. With Pally's abilities to heal and increase the damage of allied units near him, Pally's like a super captain. Then paired with Blacksmith and an actual captain, you can get Pikes to do like 80+ damage with each hit.
A few random thoughts... Using some strategies given by foursaken, playing evil whenever it lets me, I now welcome early tree rushers. Especially knights and Paladin. Come at me early, I will crush you. I am going to miss making people who use that strategy pay, come the next update. Now the Mage can be hit or miss. If they know how to play, they can beat me fairly easily. I have yet to figure a good strategy against ranger. They usually smoke me. One thing that is very rewarding is when a legit player, using good strategy is beating me and they just for some reason start playing really poorly. For example, I was getting thumped hands down, my resources were gone, my cultists killed. 3 giants at my tree. I was as good as dead. Why oh why would their hero come feel the need to attack me at that point? Well I killed him as he ran for his life trying to get back to his castle, after realizing his mistake too late. Sweet victory. Same thing happened with a guy who had an army of crusaders. I have to admit though, I did the same thing once or twice. Had them where I wanted them and died while toying with them. What is it about having a need to give the final blow? Who knows. But it's fun. A good Internet connection seems to be key in many matches. I've had quite a few people doing well, even starting to overpower me when they disconnect. On the other hand I dont really get why people disconnect on purpose when I'm just about to kill them. Do they lose less points? Do they avoid a loss in their stats?
Thanks for the advice. I've tried all heroes except for the Mage. The only hero I'm real comfortable with is the engy. I'm still stuck with him but I'm able to make it further. I've reinstalled the game but haven't had a chance to dive back in yet
I found lvl 21 to be a good place to level up as the mobs are mostly physical and you can focus on wall and Batista and kill the enemies bunching up at the walls. Did you guys find a faster level where you can kill alot/do alot of damage ez mode to lvl up?
Finding the Paladin to be the best hero so far. Most useful active and passive abilities, decent AOE attack, high crit chance, and high Run stat. I would love to play more with the Warrior, but I see no future for him.
I have only 2 wishes, make the skill damage go up with stat or level... another is adjust the mage's 15 skin, so we can at least see something =..=
Actually I'm using that skin and I like it. I even guess right centre of screen to target fireballs using this skin. Another thing to FOURSAKEN: 7. Remove white flash which happens during critical hits after your hero has 100%crit chance
Minor distraction - Stage 1. Steel walls. Repairmen. Wait for all enemies to line up at castle. Try to kill all in one shot with Archer fire arrow.
19, 20, and 21 have all been brutal for me and my lvl 25 pally. I don't know how I am going to get my son and his knight through 21 on.
Well I've hit my 1st engie wall since I started playing him right, lv 27 (or 26?) so many bomber goblins, they kill my rifleman too fast D:. Time to catch up with the rest of the heroes.
Palys are pretty good, well balanced, but i dislike the summon-heavy playstyle. Reached mission 20 yet? From what we've seen so far, Palys have the most difficulty at that mission compared to other classes.
Paladin has jumped 3 times now (lv 82). Bout 45 levels total. Happens when partner gets DC, usually semi early in. Also, any chance a future update will allow us to respec? Could charge some crystals to do it..
All my heroes are under lvl 20 and i mostly play Archer, Pally and Engineer Any feedback if and when i should put 10 into armor so immune to knockback? After i max passive and skills do i got attack or crit on a hero to hero basis?
I get destroyed as Evil solo vs bots Any tips? It's unbelievable how bad i do compared to regular campaign
You just need to adjust. In the beginning send out cheap units and spam cultists. Then use more powerful enemies like trolls. Upgrade armor too.
If I remember correctly I first had maxed out Fire Arrows, Marksman and Spreadshot, had 2-3 in Bambles and one in Hunters Trap before I built up my 10 armor.
