Okay.... I just played co-op for about 6 hours straight. I only stopped because the battery on my ipad3 exploded. If something ELSE wins GOTY, I am eagerly waiting to see what that is!!!! To everyone I just played with, there was courage beyond measure, and I saw many selfless acts, honourable acts, and your bravery will not be forgotten. [Inappropriate language removed - please read the forum rules] oh, and I am editing this to add that I live in Northern Canada, and out of the eleventy billion games I just played there was only ONE that had any lag whatsoever. Fantastic network code. co-op is more addictive than crack.
Finally nailed Level 19 with my matching Level 19 Paladin (I think he was around 17 when I tried it over and over again) I then saved up for my little Ranger and played him until Campaign 10, repeating a few earlier levels to finally get to play him properly and and shoot properly. Forged a few runes and finally got a +1 gold. Without this +1 gold, I would not have managed Level 19.
I just recently got the iPod Touch 5g, and this game looks like a BEAST on it. The graphics are incredibly better and smoother, so I take back my previous statement about horrible graphics. I was blinded by the 'lack-of' capabilities of the iPod Touch 4g. In other news, regarding siege mode, I don't really think it was designed that well. Most importantly, why the hell are the cultists going out into the front lines? If logic exist, they should be hiding behind the energy producing tree, because, cultist generally let others do their dirty work?
The developer answered the question you raise about the cultists. He stated they are in the front lines as they are a lot cheaper than mines on the hero side. It also forces the hero to come out and venture out as you try to kill the cultist to cut off evil's supply lines then retreat to protect your walls, rinse and repeat. Anyone up for some coop?
I just want to add... Co-op in this game takes things to a whole other level. You are paired with a perfect stranger. Two people, facing impossible odds. And yet, there is a code of honour at work, a primal bond that transcends mere video games. When you are playing by yourself, you can get cornered, desperately out of hope, crushed under relentless hordes of the undead, and you can surrender. In co-op, there is no surrender. There is no quitting. No matter what the odds, you must fight on. You can see this in the game, you see people pull out of impossible situations, fight their way out hopeless corners from which there is no escape, pull off ridiculous maneuvers in order to save the other player, to continue the fight against all odds.
If Brush is still around, I'd love to play. If not, I'd still love to play. If I don't have you guys on GC, hit me up. I'll be playing for a couple hours I think. Co-op. I can't see if my sig is on from the app (is this normal?), so... GC: McCREE
really? Level 20 was ok as the ranger, but 19 WAS AWFUL. Like the orc champs, the snipers, and the goblin gnomes? The ranger had the toughest time of my heroes.
Pally- ranger make an excellent coop team. Hey For those who play Mage, has anyone observed if the paladin's Holy Vengeance ability increases mage's skill attacks? My assumption is that they don't, but that assumption could be wrong. If it does not increase the skill attacks, then that is another issue that I have with the Mage.
Good game, Brush. I didn't realize I'd auto-start with my Mage. I would have rather used a different hero. Want to try again? I have an engineer I like to play with, too. And a good rune for either building or units, so ill take whatever you don't want. Either that, or I could sport a paladin and focus strictly on units and healing. Either way, my Mage isn't going to compliment anything yet, but he hung in there for a while. Leveled up 4 times.
Yeah, didn't think we'd get far once I saw the level of your Mage, but figured you wanted to level it up. I have a lvl 20 archer that I'm working on, but its up to you. If you wanna go for length and hopefully some legendary runes, you might as well play with your highest level hero. We can do Engy/pal, let me know, I'm flexible. Or, Engy/Engy? We can take turns clearing the back field and make good use of the invulnerability ability protecting the wall/keep.
Yeah, I'm always shooting for runes. I'll go engineer, and use a -20 unit rune and focus on busses, riflemen and longbeards. You can go buildings and keep the walls safe, towers up and buildings up. I'm thinking forge, hut and tent, right? Does that sound good? Any better ideas? My paladin is only a 30. Engineer is 68 I think. EDIT: you can pump out the busses, too
Sounds good, I think we can read whats happening on the field and play off of each other (sounds like we are playing a sport), making sure the blunder b's are stacked and the back field is clear.
yep, I really never had to retry levels or lvl up in multiplayer. The mage seems to be a lot harder to level up than the ranger, but you don't need a high level to complete the campaign.
That was better. I've never had it get that intense in co-op. game always crashed before I got that far. Friggen crazy. I might need to iron out my late-game strategy a little more.
