Okay whew. I wasn't sure if this was just me. Let's hope for the best. The way the devs have been really paying attention to most other issues, I am not too concerned, just hope this gets priority love!
Yeah, I agree about their commitment to greatness. They've been very hands-on in fixing the issues that have popped up so far...it nauseates me thinking about having to start over, though. Wish someone from Foursaken was hanging out tonight. Curious to see what happens tomorrow...or whenever one of them gets on.
Is it just me, or does the mage suck? It's a spellcaster, but has a melee attack. Has to use its own health for special skills, on top of the cooldown. The passives look like a waste of skill points--it heals if itstands still and isn't attacked? Woo. I can achieve the same thing with every other character by hanging around the castle, and at least my dwarf can shoot at things from the front door. Disappointing waste of crystals and expectations. Also few other new bugs have cropped up, like being unable to shoot enemies if they breach the walls and begin attacking goldmines. And in siege mode it is far too easy to end up trapped inside of a regenerated wall.
I love the Mage. And I was using him with a disability. The spells are powerful, the area attack is great and his ability to improve during the game is awesome. I haven't had a lot of time with him, but I'm looking forward to improving his stats and seeing what he's all about.
Well good to see me bringing up my stat issues spurred a wave of people having the same issue, hopefully this will push forsaken to start a stat reset option so at the very least we can fix our broken stats
Haha... Mage is probably the most OPed hero in the game, actually. His strength is that you can use his spells at a blistering rate (they all have by far the lowest cooldowns in the game), if you can manage your health. Thankfully, his abilities all help him do that. The passive regen is also very powerful, giving a big regen rate on top of whatever you get from your Keep... not to mention his spells doing damage actually becomes an asset with his life channel ability... the whole point of this character is that if you manage his spells and health right, he just becomes stronger and stronger as the game goes on. I actually think its a really interesting and fun mechanic. Also Dwarf issue is a know bug fixed in the recently submitted update... and you can escape out of the walls just by walking through the gate when you're evil... We can get your stats back. I'll follow up with you tomorrow once I'm back in the office. The stats thing is a known bug, but we have yet to be able to figure out how to reproduce it... we know it has something to do with runes, but just cannot get it to happen. If anyone has more info on this, let us know! In the meantime, its definitely a rare occurrence, but if it does happen, just let us know and we can fix it. As for runes... mine stack just fine (don't have a legendary unit cost reduction rune to test though). I'll have to double check to see if there is a cap of some sort in place.
Wow. Finally BEAT the damn seige mode!! In 13 min... The trick Spoiler is to max out the cultists every time, so you get +7 then send out units to occupy the enemy units. I used the ghoul and elite. Then get skeleton banners to get a mummy and then wraiths.
*happyface* I think the most constructive thing I can contribute is that I put legendary runes on my characters before I played a single game with them. At least for 4 of them. The knight probably had a few campaign levels completed before I applied the rune. All others had it on before mission one or any co-op. Anyway, I'm very happy that you can help us out. Thanks for your response!
Mage is my favorite char. But I do agree with dib, Mage is actually weak. Heal 11/sec looks like a lot. But when you have large amount of hp, it is quite slow. I suggest to change this to heal by percentage. Besides, it's hard to "stand still while not being attacked"... The CD of his skills is short compared with other classes, but it has only moderate dmg, above all, they are so freaking unpredictable!! You don't know where the lightening strike will land, and it's difficult to hit the desired target when enemies are grouped together. I love the idea of improving with the game progress. I like Mage because of the settings, but the smoke and pole on his back make it difficult to see what is in front of him... And I don't think the jump and spinning is proper for some turtle old as him.
There is definitely something wonky with the stats here and there. I think it was mentioned before, but sometimes a skill gets frozen at a certain number. Several times I wanted to update critical, it would show 45 current (example), and below where it shows what it'll be if you spend a SP on it, would show the same number. I blindly spent a couple points like that, and I'm not sure if it was improved even though the number didn't increase. Then few levels later, it would let me upgrade it as normal. This is in addition to what seems like another bug happening with the runes. I equipped a legendary onto my ranger as soon as I unlocked him, same with Mage. Not sure what I did with Knight and Pally as before the update I almost exclusively used the Engy class. I'm not overly concerned about my characters being gimped due to this, but I'm stat obsessed, unfortunately - so hoping this wont be an issue later on as well.
I thought it might have been deliberate, but then why have that little yellow plus sign next to it? I'd grey it out if you couldn't upgrade a skill deliberately at a particular level. You know what I mean? As a side note, it feels great being able to give feedback and receive answers. It's quite refreshing to not just being given a generic answer as most companies/developers do - "We are working on it. Thank you for your email." Yeah, kiss my copy/paste ass response, please.
RE: second paragraph Completely agree. One of the great things about this site is the active developers and Foursaken is no exception. Between the spectacular game design, the obvious passion and the great post-launch customer service, from updates and fixes to hands-on interactions with their fanbase, they've definitely made a fan for life out of me.
Alright, with all my heroes in the hospital, I guess it's time to bust out some Siege. Might have to light the calming incense and put on the tranquility music to get through this, but I'm going to do it. Today is my day.
I disagree completely. The cooldowns for the mage abilities are very short compared to the other characters, and health cost can be offset with water runes regenerate health automatically. The passive ability that increases total when damaged is incredibly useful, especially in long levels/multiplayer. If you are really finding it difficult, I suggest playing other characters until you can find a good water rune.
Cool, I used a similar strategy, but necromancers and a orc champions towards the end to finally do it.
