Definitely nothing on our front! I think that's the new law actually, where you have to actually confirm downloading the app separately from actually buying it... or something like that.

Want to elaborate on this a bit more, as I think its a very important addition to H&C2... First of all this is a tough game, and because its a strategy game (at least in part, and moreso than the first), it will be dependent on how well your strategies are, and of course how well you use your hero.

That being said, we've introduced something called Mercenaries. So basically, after you lose any mission twice, you get offered some help from Mercenaries, allowing you to start a mission with extra units. The more times you lose, the better the mercenaries are offered until it basically becomes an auto win - so you can never get stuck unless you actually choose to get stuck. Now, the great part about this system is that the Mercenaries don't cost anything per se (so its not like you have to go buy IAP to get them or something), however they do lower your reward from beating the mission if you beat a mission with Mercenaries. We think its a nice "soft penalty" for allowing you to technically breeze through the game if you need the help, and there are enough other ways to earn crystals that using your main mission rewards being spent on mercenaries won't prohibit you that much (between replaying history levels, playing secondary map missions, and earning achievements, you should be able to get quite a few crystals in the regular flow of the game).

Another key thing in this game is that you can actually continue battles when you die, with other heroes that you own. So you could technically continue up to 9 times on any one mission. There are some restrictions in place with this system that you'll learn, but I think its another neat addition :)

So is there set classes like the last one or no? You just spec into them?

Okay I'm getting loads of crashing when multitasking and now even when trying to load it up when there's nothing running in the background

At least he's consistent :p He didn't like the first one much either. In all fairness he admitted this type of game just isn't his cup of tea.

No set classes but generally what I and others have been doing is picking a class tree then sticking to it so you're basically getting a bunch of characters in different classes.

It's strange though as I recall him being a Bug Heroes 2 fan, he just had no idea what the hell he was doing in it (per usual). Wonder what he has against H&C haha

No set characters like the first... this game has 3 different races, and each race has 3 classes that you spec into. You can create a jack of all trades character or specialize. In terms of looks, its much more a "create the character you want" type of thing with the armor sets (there are thousands) - you can forge stats into any armor, so if you find one that you particularly like, you can keep it forever.

Hmmm, only thing that changed from beta in that regard is we greatly lowered the RAM footprint. What device and OS are you running again?

@FM, im sorry if its been asked before and probably you guys are aware too, but does anyone here have any problem with Mfi? mine get stuck after 3-5 minutes of gameplay and required a bluetooth restart to make it work again. tested both on 6 plus 8.2 and 8.3. im using steelseries stratus XL.

ps. its surely a beautiful graphics ;), still complained bout the walking/running animation though.4 stars from me right now until they tweaks the animation then its a full 5 ;)

OMG this is easily one of my favorite games already and I just started. The detail and depth in this game is insane.

Can any of the beta testers explain how long it is? I really don't think I will but I don't want to just blow threw it.

At 2$ if anyone is even questioning this game just buy it, you will not be disappointed :)

thanks , or should i pick the pikeman instead? what is the difference between these 2?

  17. Okay Jamie, I just manhandled JCho in versus.., I was also a way higher level than his guys... Is that just because there aren't many level 16 Grandmaster's? You said there is algorithms and things to help balance, right?

If you go to the scribe he'll tell you what units to use on what types of enemies :)

Very glad that my Beta game save is mostly intact. The only thing changed is that a few units that were fully upgraded before are not upgraded at all, which is no big deal. Time to battle.

Haven't heard anything like that... we do have that controller so we'll do some testing. And yes, move animations will be updated in first update :p

Skeleton Knights? Yeah, definitely use Pikemen... Pikemen have high armor piercing, while Wood Elf Warriors have high attack, no armor piercing, and very low health - Wood Elfs are best used to mop up weak units and kill units with high defense (like ghouls and orcs). Dwarf Riflemen are also a good option. Alternatively if you have a weapon with any AP, you could equip that just for those missions.

Also remember that units get SUBSTANTIALLY better as you upgrade them... so if ever a level 1 unit doesn't seem to be getting the job done, make sure to upgrade them a level or two.

We balance the match-up based on hero level. If you're automatching, we first look for similar leveled players, and after a short search we expand outside that range to make sure you get a match.

As for balance... lets not jump the gun yet - we usually don't make any changes in MP balance until at least a few days or a week as people start learning. For ex I got beat by Connor about 10 times in a row with a single strategy until i figured out the counter and proceeded to beat him everytime (ok not quite, but it was a good match after that) :p
