Yes! I would love this! Keep my heroes and gear but replay the game at a tougher difficulty. I think it would be cool(I'm sure your heard those words before) if there were enemy heroes too
Agree with all comments for the first time. - more rewarding, chance of getting unique equipment. - increased difficulty. - I suggested this before game was released: Bosses (or enemy heroes as someone said). Or both. - maybe different enemy's behaviour/capabilities. For instance, a faster and more resistant Siege trolls. There's no end to the possibilities with this game.
But please make a game+ that deserves the name. I know some players here asked for help to beat even early waves, and that's OK, but game+ should be really hard. Attacking outposts even harder. I don't know how many enemies the game engine can handle but don't hold back - make it a challenge! I'm just saying this because right now I'm playing the game less each day because it's too easy once you beat all Waves, conquered all outposts and got used to enemies, advantages and disadvantages of all unit types. I know the patch, whenever it arrives, is going to make enemies a little harder though.
At this point might as well wait for update 2. NG+ is a touchy mode. Making the enemies stronger might serve to better challenge your hero, but your units get comparably weaker, as do your walls/towers. Balance is quite tricky. A simple fix would be to make enemies stronger AND allow your units you scale more, ie to level 10 or something. At the same time, hero scaling stays the same currently. This way, both friendly units and enemy units get a power creep compared to heroes (which is the issue right now, heroes do too much damage at higher levels), and it gives a new way to spend crystals rather than on icloud saves
You realize that there everyone has raised issues regarding crashes, and you want more stuff to put in the screen?
Ha, I know, I've been waiting to play since it came out (pretty much... I'm on wave 7, but it keeps crashing). Kinda just the nature of the AppStore beast. Sometimes we get lucky and an update in 2 days, other times little stupid issues can hold it up for weeks. Anyway... I have been trying to keep up with this incredibly fast moving thread and have to say I'm psyched to get further into it whenever the update does hit.
I don't think the core game is balanced enough to allow for power creep yet. It'll just grow out of control. I kinda agree on the advice of waiting for update 2. I'm hoping the increase in difficulty for post-game is enough... I just did my first survival, got to 44mins, and let the enemy win since the game was getting kinda funky and I was getting bored. 8 crystal reward. No items. You'd think that'd be worth an epic or leg at least...
FM mentioned they want endless mode to "end" in around 30 to 40 minutes, which i would heartily agree with. Anything more than that will be a stretch, and will definitely feel boring.
How would it grow out of control? As a simple example, if every unit gets a 2x hp and 2x dmg, there would be virtually no change in unit vs unit battle.
You can beat the main game (except perhaps the unintentionaly "hard" wave 30) with all units at level 1 without any skill exploits... I wouldn't mind if they just doubled the enemies' stats or something like that.
That's the usual theory devs have and why power creep inevitably hurts games. 2x dmg on wood elves for example. Start with 65-70dmg. Then start boosting it via buffs. Suddenly enemy hps being doubled isn't that impressive.
Well I mean at 30-40 minutes it'd be pretty cool if spawn rates of long range enemies increase and you see everything fall apart in your base as the siege trolls and mummies overwhelm you and your castles walls are breached. Then you take a moment and realize how long you've lasted before spamming skill after skill until your keep falls. That'd be nice. Skill shortcuts would be nice too.
Maybe what they can do is remove the multiplier buffs, and change it into fixed stat addition buffs. For example, friendly units scale +10, +20, +30, etc., while the enemies scale x2, x3, x4, etc.
Oh for sure. That'd make it far easier to manage power creep, just like skills should add flat bonuses instead of percentage bonuses. Basically they need to balance the current game, then after that they need to guesstimate scaled up enemies and put them against scaled up units/current heroes. Can't just let them go from 5* to 10*, since things like armor need to cap out. Rushing out NG+ and doubling some stats or all of them will end horribly. Pretty sure they know that and won't add content until what they have is balanced properly. Edit: by guesstimate I mean they need to test final enemy numbers against final hero/unit/tower/walls. Tweak as necessary, retest, retweak, retest, etc. it's a process and a complicated one because of all the hit checks, defences, and the sheer variety and number of units.
It will be EXACTLY the same as it is now. I know not everybody's a math major, but this should be rather clear cut. Been working on neural networks all year, a little algebra never hurt anybody. Basic example to illustrate: Enemy 1000 HP Elf 50 damage Buff +50% Elf damage - 75 Hits to kill - 1000/75 = 13.3333333 Enemy - 2000 HP Elf - 100 damage Buff +50% Elf damage - 150 Hits to kill - 2000/150 = 13.3333333 The only thing that changes are FLAT damage bonuses, which are weaker. Every % based skill/stat will be exactly the same (armor, dodge, etc). The other thing that doesn't scale is your HERO, which was the whole point. Our heroes make everything look pointless.
Oh my god, I'm pretty sure I just got the most amazing swords in the entire game. Behold, The Toothpick Warrior! Did you forget to brush your teeth before going to bed tonight? Don't worry! The Toothpick Warrior is here to help! Remember that popcorn kernel you had stuck between your teeth, ever since you saw that shitty movie two days ago? Don't worry, The Toothpick Warrior is here! You don't have health insurance and need that plaque removed from your teeth? Don't worry, The Toothpick Warrior is here! With his dual-dual stainless steel toothpicks he will be able to assist your whole family with any excess food stuck in your teeth-related issues! *cavity filling damages and brain piercing issues can be expected during these procedures. Call TTPW at your own risk.
Still in the queue... it seems to be taking quite a while - nearly 2 weeks now >_< As for game+ mode, we aren't going to haphazardly add that in, if at all Lots of stuff to consider when adding a mode like that. Also, some enemies are getting their roles tweaked - should make things a bit more interesting
Think that was a swing-and-a-miss with that quote there man. Update really is chugging... How annoying. Hopefully update 2 doesn't get stuck in appleville as long as this one did.
INCREASE DIFFICULTY? NO!!! I SUCK. I died 5 or 6 times at wave THREE. If people want more challenge there should be a difficulty option. #
