Hey, I've been doing some work on the wiki lately and was just wondering if I could get some feedback. I've started working on Units and I would just like to know what you think of this. I'll be using this as a template for other units. Thoughts? Should I add anything? Are pictures per unit level necessary?
My first legendary item! The damage isn't all that better than my previous weapon, but the AP can come in handy. I'd rather have a different one, but i'm definetly not complaining.
Okay, so two questions: First, how hard is it to find a short bow for the grandmaster? Second, is the druid a good class? I don't hear much about him, but I thought I might give him a try if he is any good...
I agree with Foursaken. 10 crystals for a legendary is just lame and lazy. The current method for getting equipment is reasonable.
Foursaken -- I figured out how I got stuck and have a suggestion to fix the tutorial. After wave 1 you get 3 crystals and level up. I spent the skill point and then decided to respec, I didn't realize that it cost 2 crystals. Then the tutorial wants me to craft a weapon at the blacksmith for 3 crystals but I only had 1. You should make this tutorial craft free or have the blacksmith give you 3 crystal the first time you talk to him. I had to restart the game to get past my mistake. This was fine for me but could cause bad vibes to others.
The stuff you get is randomised. I've gotten a few already, highest was uncommon but i never needed them anyway. But you could get really lucky or unlucky, who knows. Can't speak for druid though, haven't tried him yet.
Foursaken if your listening, pls let us know if you will do any content update? I posted earlier but would love to see the following for more immersion"....... ✅ When visiting towers we have won, instead of seeing a few soldiers just standing round it be great to see them sharpening their swords or cooking meat on an open fire, guards in the top of the towers keepong an eye out, that sort of thing. ✅ Possible voice commands where we can rally cry the troops, or make them come to us or attack up front or defend at back via diffrent commands ✅ weather effects like heavy rain, lighning and thunder, or even snow. ✅ Possible living quarters, where you can eat rest and sleep, and possible cutscenes every now and then before battle where you can talk to the town and your soldiers, or something like that to push a bit more story into it! That said this game is perfect, and its probably me just being greedy for more of your amazing work. In reality i know what i have listed above is a lot of work or not possible at this point, but i think it would add a hell of a lot more immersion, and also make the battles seem more desperate especially if more story or cutscenes were added to that effect. Either way you guys are great and im sure i speak for everyone when i say you rock! May you make many more awesome games for a long time to come p.s would love to see you do a state of decay type game with your nyz zombie style graphics ✌#️✌#✌#####✌#✌#
I've been loving this game. I liked the first one quite a bit, but I got a bit tired of it. However, Heroes and Castles 2 has so much more depth and I love how they refined all of the systems from the first game while also adding more RPG elements. The only thing I don't like is that I'm having some trouble finding specific weapons for specific classes, like I have three characters and I've done up to wave 15 or so with two of them, but I've only found one bow and one hammer, but something like six swords. Has anyone found a way to get specific weapons for a class? My archer's weapon is pretty outdated at this point.
Cool suggestions! But most of that is a level of polish that we just can't afford as an indie studio, tbh. That sort of thing literally adds weeks to the dev time, without a tangible benefit. It would be cool, I agree! But I think our time would be better spent adding new campaigns, levels, modes, etc! Re: weather, there is weather.... Rain, thunder, snow, and fog - as well as night and dusk settings. Re: voice commands - it wouldn't really work... Units have such specific AI; breaking their routines to call your entire army to you would create a sort of unpredictable unit behavior, ironically, and would end up being really sloppy I think. Also I think that would tip this game over the top in terms of complexity of you could micro your troops at all.
Ah, well if I may. Could you add an option to the blacksmith to pay slightly more for one specific weapon type? Same goes for armor when it is dwarf/human/elf? Maybe 5 crystals instead of 3. I'd definitely go for that.
Yeah i kind of knew already, but if you dont ask you dont receive as they say lol but whatever you guys do this is awesome as is, its just me wanting moon on a stick lol Sorry im not that far in yet so not seen all the effects, even though i did not need to i have spent £12 on in game currencey, not that i needed to but i really wanted to show you guys all the support you deserve regardless. So thanks again! ✌#️✌#✌#
Foursaken-- this is how you make a sequel! Congrats on the launch! I was a big fan of the first game and I'm a bigger fan of the second game! Stuff That I Like: - The distance map on top-- this is a great guide to see how close/far enemies are from your keep. - Difficulty level. The first game was really hard and this one seems like its balanced a lot better. - Units have specialized behaviors/tactics. I like how the different units specialize in attacking/defending different types of enemies. It's really adds to the tactical side of the game. - World Map and Territory System. I like how acquiring and defending territory involves some tactical thinking. I dig the bonus treasures and crystals you get from territories. -Stats and Equipment. Again, the stats are meaningful to your hero and there are meaningful choices to the equipment you pick. Certainly there is often a "best choice" for equipment but sometimes you run across great equipment that is perfect for a certain playstyle and build but may not be as good for another type of character. Major, major kudos. You guys have outdone yourselves. I think $2 is way too low for this game but you might get more buyers at a lower price. I am definitely doing some IAP as a thank you for a fun game and for support of an indy team. I played this game the whole weekend and I'm only half way through my first playthrough. I look forward to trying out the eight other classes. Foursaken and Ironhide Studios are my iOS gaming heroes. I know it's crazy to say this now but I can't wait till the sequel to this game.
P.s its a shame to hear people are getting crashes, as ive been lucky as i have not experienced anything like that maxed out. But i am on an air 2, so i dont know if that is why or if the game has bugs? Ive not found any problem and has been flawless thus far but im on level 17 yet but i love doing side missions and going to the scribe to replay. Well have fun folks! Im sure forsaken are already on top of any crashing issues ✌#️
Wow... I totally forgot this had MFi support. However, the movement is currently mapped to my dpad instead of the vstick. This is on a madcatz micro.
