Agreed. And when you get access to mana channel skill (third tier) the entire wave would almost be in slow mo
Cool equipment idea: Magic Guantlets. They'd be magic casting just like a staff, except faster firing rates and lower damage compared to their staff counterparts. Two guantlets by default, but will have only 1 when dual wielding
Having finished the campaign and owning the whole map is problematic: There's no map progress anymore! It seems the only way to make days pass is to play Endless. But for me Endless gets boring fast: It's the same enemy waves over and over, same area, same weather condition, same lighting. I miss the conquering and defending of villages. Can't even trigger it by losing Endless on purpose: You have to play it for at least some minutes (not sure of the number yet) before a day is over. It's a great single player game, but that dead end is not rewarding put punishing. And multiplayer Versus mode really needs some hero and maybe even unit nerfing. I see that new players who don't have high end heroes and level 5 units are allowed to play it but they are just cannon fodder. The majority of players will probably not get a level 99 hero with godlike equipment and not even unlock all units and full upgrades. IMO that's only a small amount of hardcore players. The new players are utterly beaten and will probably not return. The matching system based on your score doesn't prevent this (yet?), probably because there are not enough high level players. What do you think of having 2 versus modes? One mode is "unlimited", the other mode caps the players . That way the battle can be more even and then the better player wins, not the level 99 hero. In like 8 out of 10 matches the enemy high level hero with uber equipment doesn't build any units or maybe just 1 random unit, and then he walks to my castle and destroys it, not able to be killed in any way. That's pretty game breaking.
That is an amazing idea Stupid question but I have to make sure... Dwarf Gun powder proficiency counts for all guns right? I have a good ap repeater rifle I want to stick with for him.
@Foursaken, is there a chance you guys can make it so the enemy can still capture your lands like the main 30 waves after unlocking endless mode? Just for more replayability. Not to rush for an update on this or anything.
I think they still do, but at a significantly slower rate since the only thing moving "time" forward are defending your lands and when doing endless mode.
I'm not so sure if anyone mentioned this, but can I please take like 300 hours to appreciate the music in this game? It's like a masterpiece, seriously.
Even if you surrender in the endless mode? Agreed. I opened up the files and converted them to mp3, so I can have them in my music library. I particularly love that after-battle track.
I quite like the castle themes. I also like the battle tracks, but one of those tracks, which I unfortunately cannot describe through typing, is my absolute favorite track of all time. It gives the sense that you're on your knees, but you still fight on, clinging onto the last threads of dedication and valor, making no hesitation to slaughter those who stand against you. I also get that track a lot in Siege and Defend missions. I'm not sure if you've named the tracks, though.
Sorry all, still having a hard time trying to decipher all the abbreviation. ARM = Armor WS = Weapon Skill AP = ? I noticed some of the legendary weapons have worst stats than EPIC weapons,is this intended? Just for the look?
They are named as: - A Hero Rises - Earth's Migtiest Heroes - Epic Trailer 2 - Epic Trailer 3 - Epic Trailer 4 - Last Flight of the Columbus - Fairy Tale Come True Not sure if that'll help you though.
Armor Piercing. If you click one the little "i" button right next to the attributes, a full name and a description of the attributes pop up.
I'd share them, but pretty sure that'd be illegal, so I can't :/ Thanks, but I already restarted the game (didn't have any good gear anyway). If it happens again. I'll let you know. One other person has had the same issue as me, and quite a few pople have reported that they are stuck after finishing a certain wave as well.
Yeeeeaaaaah, that's the one thing that bars it. Well, that is, unless Foursaken personally allows you to upload to YouTube without monetization as the goal, but still.
I've noticed that these types of questions usually come most often from people still under wave 10. This might not address the above question directly (hard to do so unless we know what level you are and what kinds of troops you can summon), but it should be good advice in general for people struggling in the lower waves. It may be necessary in some cases to rethink the way you approach your battles. It always pays to have a good grasp of the flow of battle, especially in defeat. The key is to observe, rather than spend all your attention on your own power fantasy ("Look at me take on this mummy in single combat!"). Wars are usually won by armies, not individuals - the enemy proved this when they beat you. There is almost always one of two dominant factors contributing to the loss: 1. One or two types of enemy overrunning your defenses 2. One or two types of your own troops being particularly ineffective on the field (perhaps not causing as much damage as they should, or lacking in numbers to make a significant difference) The first factor is easy to address. Any situation which results in the enemy dishing out damage without getting at least their fair share in return (either in damage or time) is a losing situation. Once you can identify the chief troublemakers (usually the ones slaughtering half your army), you've already won - you simply need to counter them with the right troops. Visit the Scribe in your castle and read the Bestiary to find out how. The second factor is usually encountered by most people who play with the 'spam-and-forget' approach. This requires a little more case-by-case analysis on your part - you need to acknowledge that each type of troop performs best under different situations. Here are some cases I can cite off the top of my head: - Elves (both melee and ranged) and mages deal magic damage. This is essential against certain enemies such as ghosts. Read the bestiary and keep an eye out for enemies who require magical attention. - On the other hand, they're also useless against enemies who are immune to magic (such as cultists). Get some proper soldiers to greet them with plain steel. - Ranged units are obviously effective in bright, clear areas with line-of-sight. They're only half as useful in a battlefield full of huge boulders. They're all but useless in fog or darkness. - Torchbearers help light up targets in the dark for your ranged units to aim at. Unfortunately, this also means that they must be in proximity with the enemy. As in real life, walking alone at night with a torch is an extremely risky proposition. Get them some bodyguards (unattractive though the idea may be, Dwarven Ironhelms make great escorts). - While it's a viable strategy to swarm slow and hard-hitting enemies with footmen, avoid sending them against enemies who can smash multiple units at once (like bone giants). You may want to greet these people with annoying hit-and-run tactics using knights with ranged support. - Don't oblige enemy archers with target practice. Shield knights will make a beeline for these people and quickly take their mind off things. Alternatively, make the enemy archers your target practice by picking them off outside their range (using Elven Hunters and Siege Archers). This works extremely well when besieging the enemy. There are a lot more points to list, but most of them can be formulated by knowing what units you have and what enemies you face. Remember, you're more effective as a general than you are as a hero (sad, but for the most part, true).
Is there any way to reset your unit stats and campaign progress without losing your heroes, items, and crystals? I'd like to start over because it was so much fun playing through. Just replaying old levels feels different and is not as intense (Wave 1 with level 5 units...). Maybe a reset button in a future update would help.
New bug encountered Hey Foursaken, I've encountered this new bug where my castle is being raided twice, meaning that when I press the 'lands being raided' button it comes up twice. It began when I tried to play multiplayer when I had to defend the castle (zero days left). Just when the coop battle was about to start the screen froze, so I waited 30seconds. The battle ended up loading but I had no partner, and no chat button, so I assumed it was a regular endless match which I didn't want, so I surrendered. Slme of my other lands had started to be attacked, and I no longer had to defend my castle immediately (so I think a day had passed when I chose to surrender). So I guess a new counter for my castle began, even though the old one had just refreshed :/
