Hey man I understand your feelings and I am sure people have the same feelings here. Though I am not even maxed out with my heroes (lvl67 Knight) I am able to compete in normal levels. But when I started first playing I could only play in easy, because I did not have any good stuff yet. Also whenever I got my gems I spent them on my troops, as they were the ones that carried me. True gems can be hard to get, but if you play on the maps and conquer lands on easy you should be able to get a gem, two gems, or even 5 gems per battle. In fact you can even better troops. I personally think that if you upgrade your woodelves, shield knights, paladins, horses, and priests you should be fine. Catapults will come in later. But also don't play too much on the maps as they can get really hard and then it could come to an extent where you can't beat them. Balance the gameplay there. I think the reason for the stamina nerf was to fit the characters themselves and to balance the whole game. For example dwarves and humans have similar stamina as they are well rounded in power and health. But the elf is much faster so it has more stamina. Another thing you should consider though is that the hero is not the all powerful in this game like in the first one. You have to balance yourself and make use of yourself on different parts and it suppose to be punishing if you miss, because one you attract attention, two you could be hitting another guy, and three you lose stamina. Also the troops in the game are much more powerful than the ones in the first game which is something I like. If the hero was given no toll on the stamina to attack and could attack endlessly, there would less tactics to the game; no dodging, no sidestepping, no nothing (of course when you lose that stamina you do one of those). Also you need to realize that each of the enemies you play in the game cannot really be taken down by your hero and you will need troops to defend. I think foursaken wanted to have the player focus on a balanced game instead of just having the hero go swat down all the troops without the need for allies. To even make this game more interesting is that they added the feature where you can summon you other heroes into the battle, so try getting new ones and leveling them up in battle so it will make your gameplay a lot more easier. Trust me I have another knight in battle and it is like me playing except a stronger version. I usually have a knight, a elven ranger, and dwarf runesmith that go into battle with me as a knight. WE REK. I TOTALLY AGREE THOUGH THAT THIS GAME OFFERS THE BEST GRAPHICS, but I also think that the ipad can handle it. I have not experienced anything that bad yet XD Hopefully this answers your questions! :D

Yeah, sorry to say but you are stuck on it for now. I do wish they add the new option to go back, but at them moment it keeps getting harder until game +5. I am keeping myself at normal to prevent myself from hitting a road block until I get really good. I want to have a lot of my heroes high level so I can easily crush. And yeah the game + mode is much harder and keeps getting harder with the troops being stronger, but your own units also have the option to level one step farther. Same with the towers. Just keep grinding for crystals and replaying old ways to prevent yourself from getting really stuck on something. :D Actually play arena mode and quit after round 5 to get a free equipment and then spend the gear for a gem. Or you could go all the way to round 13 and get a free legendary equipment. Hope that helps.

You're the first of the kind that i've heard/read of.

Grind is way easier in this one than the first. You need to conquer lands in order to do so, and then crystals just flow in at a good pace.

I thought the game was difficult in a few missions, but the right combination and well-timed use of skills (depending on your charater of course) and i can consistently beat those missions (i didnt grind until after i completed the game the first time).

Despite your claim, i suggest trying to re-learn the game. Having difficulty on the second wave alone says a lot of things. Second wave... Really? Not trying to be an ass here, but i just created a new game on the iphone just to test out your claim and it was pretty easy. Not even sure what you are having problems with, and i didnt even play anything other than Waves 1 and 2 on normal. I have never played on easy at all.

On top of that, i used an all-starting equip set. Basically nothing. Stamina wasnt an issue at all.

From what i can take from this, you may be rushing forward on your own and taking archer hits left and right while trying to take down everything yourself. Based off that, sure you'd lose stamina quickly, and you'd take a lot of hits. So i think you need to re-learn the game.

Yeah Pscience is right about this one. Your hero is meant to be your guy where you take down semi powerful troops, but not all the troops. You should not be running around the field trying to kill the archers or else they will take you down much easily. The level offers you shield knights, so those should help. The game is about you trying to survive utilizing given troops. Those troops can help you attack, distract or defend you place. You have to decide on what your strategy game play is. From the looks of it I think you are playing it from the h&c 1 point of view, where instead you are the attention and the all powerful and the troops are more or less distractions. H and C 2 offers very powerful troops. In H and C 2 you can stack stuff and make them do explosive amounts of damage. To counter this powerful enemies exist. While in H and C the gameplay can get really hard as the hero cannot be all over the place (especially Corte) and you units lack the power to fight the enemy. This is what H and C 2 fixes. It reduces the power of the hero, but still allows you to do great things with him and buffs the power of your units, making units worthwhile and adding interesting stuff to the game. As you play more you will see what we are talking about!:D The gameplay is so awesome! The final battle you will play will be you sieging a castle exactly identical to the one you will be defending throughout the game. Except the castle is defended by powerful troops that keep reappearing such as goblin miners, bone giants, skeleton runners, goblin snipers, goblin alchemists, ghoul overseers, mummy runners, skeleton knights, and a gigantic Necromancer who shoots giant fireballs. This is the battle where you have to definelty manage how you play and choose the right units to attack. Catapults are necessary and troops to defend those catapults are very important such as captains, paladins, woodelves, and knights. I find it interesting to use all the troops because it looks so much more cooler with all your troops that you fought with through 50+ waves are there in this one gigantic battle. You can summon up to 100 spaces of troops. This is an example where you can't just keep running around and hacking and allow your own troops do the hacking instead. Wave 6 is the place where I used to be stuck at b/c I kept trying to destroy the base but more troops just kept coming my way. Utilizing troops is very important and you also have to utilize where your hero at every point of the game. I find it useful to keep my hero in the back and let my troops do the killing except only when I need to defend against large numbers. Finally getting those gems are important. But in order to do so you have to fight in the maps. The first game is actually harder to get the gems as each battle only produces about 1 gem or 2 at the most. This game can allow you to get up to like 8 gems in one and then maybe 5 in another. It keep varying. But this is my point of view.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Yeah, I guess I am stuck on the notion that I am supposed to go out and take care of business myself, the first game certainly pounded that notion home. I think my bigger problem is that while my phone can play this game perfectly, the screen is just too small to be worthy. I have a Nexus 7 but this this game is too savage on the hardware, no matter what you turn down. As others have mentioned I wish Foursaken had offered resolution scaling for this engine, going by the comments on the android app store this game is simply too much for most hardware to handle on that front. I wish I had a modern ipad for this, to be sure.

I always said that the only reason I kept apple hardware was because of these developers, unfortunately their android ports have been rocky and that is to be expected when you push the limits with an engine like this. It feels criminal to play this game on a phone, which I think is most of my frustration.

Yeah man I am glad we helped! :D And that is true, the first game actually forces you to go out and do the business and rarely allows you to hide, because your troops are less reliable. I freaking hated those orc chieftans who just wipe out everyone except your giants. i think the game is actually way harder to play in on the phone, because graphics can only do so much on a small screen. It can be extremely difficult to know what ur doing in a small screen. That is why I prefer the ipad, because it offers better quality of graphics and you can see everything. I personally believe that your thumbs can be the screen instead because of the small screen. The thumbs usually get in the way. Playing on the ipad actually makes you want to take your time and look around and not rush, because you feel like you would have a ton of time to play. :) I dont know tbh, but this is my preference XD

Holy cow!!! 80 damages for a skeleton! I would lose immediately, b/c my troops would be slaughtered! HOW! Heavy hitters would k.o. you one shot.

  12. I am stuck in NewGame+ now, didnt read that note very closely haha... and I feel the challenge is pretty good with my heroes who are all 25-50 leveled. I feel the challenge is back to beta/pre-"this gamez is 2 hardC0R3" patches level, which is uncomfortable but not impossible;)

Here is where things get confusing. The skeleton only has 42 damage in the bestiary, and hits every unit for 42, except my hero and other summoned heroes- then it's 80 damage. Still don't get this. Seems like heroes take more damage than everything else, which makes them weaker than in the normal game.

Have you tried checking out your hero's armor and defense? That might be why. I am guessing the new mode probably be affecting your heroes only b/c if did affect your units, then it would be impossible.

  16. It reminds me of beta/pre-updates to the game that made it more leveled out... there was a skirmish I just fought where there was like 40 skeletons and 5-10 blunderbuss goblins right at the start :D

Yeah, it's not for everyone, but hopefully with the Easy/Normal/Game+ modes, this game is accessible to all players now...

Wish it could get a reboot/relaunch now, fully-featured, fully-updated, across all platforms including PC and console. I think the brothers would be just swimming in the cash like Uncle Scrooge McDuck :D

I love those kinds of skirmished where they give you loads of weak guys to fight like goblins or skeletons. But in this case I wont like it, because now they are like super skeletons on steroids who give a ton of wacking XD ! Yeah but definitely the game is open to all kinds of players now! I am ez-normal type of guy. Maybe i will get into the game + later though! :D

95 armor, no defense. Probably just part of the new game + to have your heroes take more damage. Still kind of annoying when weak enemies like skeletons do much damage.... Last time in new game +1 a wraith lord hit me for 542 damage. New game +2 is already challenging and I'm only on wave 1.

    One consistent thing I noticed:
Gear gained from battles in normal loot drop.
Gear gained from chest (treasures found in land) is always cursed/rubbish, always ???, very rarely common.

Is it just me or are others having the same issue?
