I think it would be a good idea to either offer more free respecs after each update, or lower/cap their cost in general. It sucks to have to save up tons of gems just to save a character that has been nerfed out of their usefulness, and it would also make character experimentation a lot more fluid and accessible. Not saying the nerfs are a bad idea, I just think that if we keep having a system where character builds are unstable, we should be able to adapt to changes more easily.
^Speaking of Counterattack, i think the skills that require active blocking need to be buffed to actually be worth using. I mean they have their uses, but the reward of actually putting in effort to time a block doesnt IMO feel worth spending points in to get the most out of it. I think it needs to be buffed to a point that it encourages the use of block for a more viable and unique playstyle.
It also actually needs to work. I'm ok with its stats: +100% damage and +500 force on next attack at max level. It's not working for me.
My new grandmaster (post nerf new) uses a blocking build since the skill that gives you 3s of matrix mode still procs 50% of the time, but the actual boost you get from a counter attack seems weak. I'd like to see it buffed as well, since blocking without a shield is very twitchy/timing-based, which makes it challenging. Would be cool if it were more rewarding
Why does Paladin's maces skill only give +1 additional damage after level 1? That's not worth skill points. I think it's possibly because of clubs, but then clubs are highly overrated. It's not like +2 damage would turn them into weapons of mass destruction. Almost nobody uses them anyways.
I think they are considering the AOE of mace-types in which case a +2 gives too much damage when hitting multiple targets, but it does weaken the hammers to only have +1 scaling.
But what's the point of restricting skill damage to +1 when normal equipment can easily give you like +40 damage and even more? I assume that would work with clubs, too (didn't test it yet).
I just put a point in Heavy Armor (Human Knight), but the armor value in the hero stats screen didn't change...
It is based off the base armor value you have on your equipped armor. Not on any other items. And not off any of your armor's armor bonus (the one found on the second line of stats, they dont count).
Probably a bug. Players would expect it to apply to all ARM, even shields. And why does it say "sets of armor"? I thought maybe they mean human shield + human armor for example. Well, there goes another 30 crystals. Reason: inadequate skill description.
^that may be so for most, but i personally knew what it would do when i first put a point in the skill based on its description.
I suggest any patch that rebalances stuff or fixes exploits gets a separate game center leaderboard. Currently it's not possible to get a new global highscore.
Reset seems like the way to go. They can't keep making endless leaderboards, and I'm sure players will appreciate the challenge of getting back on the board in new ways. But seriously though FM, can you guys make respecs more affordable?
I've completed the map and the rate im getting crystals are pretty acceptable while i keep playing "defend your lands". The others here call my rate of crystal farming horrible, but mostly because they take advantage of exploits. I know of the exploits, but not using them coz im pretty sure it's not what FM's intended it to be.
