Love the game. On some missions my game crashes at the end of a mission. So far only castle missions I think. So as I'm about to see my rewards, I crash and have to reload the game.

IPhone 5, 8.2 ios. Not planning on upgrading ios anytime soon.

Ps: if you fail a castle mission, it's not game over.

just spent what felt like an eternity (seriously was probably and hour) in a defend and siege match just to die by my own brashness. I'll tell you what, "we fight for a higher power".

What's the best way to get crystals?

Ugh, I'm sorry about this guys... not sure where this crash is coming from - we didn't experience it in beta, but we're investigating to see if we can get it nailed down ASAP! I'm just at least relieved that its at the end of missions, so at least once you start back up you still have your rewards and the mission is counted as complete... still, I'm annoyed that we let it slip by >_<

Out of curiosity, was this a main campaign mission, or was it a side mission?

We tried to make it so there really wasn't any grinding to get crystals (ie you get the appropriate amount in the flow of the game), so probably achievements. Once you start getting new heroes, you can get into a sort of crystal earning loop, as each hero has their own set of achievements and rewards, very similar to how you would do in the 1st with new heroes.

Also, the more lands you own, the more bonus treasure you'll find, as well as the land's inherent bonus... so make sure to capture as many lands as you can! Later on you'll be finding treasure chests after every battle with random loot and crystals in them.

speaking of getting crystal, i think the price and the amount of it is pretty reasonable( as a comparison to the japanese games ) , and it doesnt cost you that much in the game.

btw, you guys tend to invest your crystal in which aspect ? the equipment , the walls or the army ?

I loved the first game and am enjoying the sequel as well. It's true that although the textures and models look great, the animations by comparison fall short. That doesn't matter though as once you start playing it's so much fun you won't care.

Other positives are the equipment system and having a (mini)town area bringing the world to life.

I personally don't like how the classes function. I purchased the IAP just to buy the 3 races in order to understand how they work. Each race has 3 specializations with their own active and passive skill in different tiers and can be built with points across all 3. The previous game had distinct classes that had their own flavors, here it feels less so with similarities across the races. Also having things like a boost to 2-handed weapons and a boost to using shields in the same tree confuses me as they, at first glance, seem mutually exclusive.

To people who played the beta: did you find yourself mixing the knight and Mage skills in a single build? I'd rather they be seperate classes with smaller trees but more varied classes, such as a standard stealth rogue.

Again this is an opinion of my first impression and I hope the more experienced players are kind when explaining why I'm completely wrong.

The ability to mix/match different skill trees is a great feature of H&C2, making the game that much deeper.

I don't think there is much overlap between classes... did you have something specific in mind? We tried to make them as distinct as the first, only with a ton more variety. Each class still definitely has their own unique role, from paladin buffing units, to knight's offense, to elf ranger's ranged prowess to dwarf engineer's defense, etc...

Also don't forget, we launched H&C1 with 3 heroes in total. In H&C2 we launched with 3 races, only with 10x the abilities of the first game. The main difference is there is a heck of a lot more content per race then there was per hero in the original.

Re: the 2 handed weapons and shield boost, which hero is this again? I think its the Dwarven Runesmith, which has a skill that allows him to wield 2 handed weapons in one hand, without losing any damage ;) Also, you can always wield 2 handed weapons in one hand, you just swing it with half the damage.

Finally yes, we're updating the walk/run animations for update ;)

This using Game Center for matchmaking and networking? If so, how reliable is it? Are disconnects any issue?

That's the kind of thing that I missed, and knowing that skill exists makes the inclusion of both understandable.

The other issue I was referring to was, well for example the elf race. Generically it has specializations for ranger, rogue, and druid. Does anyone actually make a rogue / druid hybrid, or a ranged ranger / melee rogue? Technically there are more options as to where to put your points but if they don't work together why cross-class? It seems awkward to me at first, as opposed to a system where there is a dedicated rogue class that has branches for say stealth, magic, or poison play styles where any tree at least supports dual wielding melee. Perhaps I'll understand better when I've put more time in with the game, which I absolutely will.

Elf has the Grandmaster path, not Rogue :p The Ranger doubles as a Rogue type character with some stealth and sneaky skills. The Grandmaster however, focuses on offense, armor piercing, and quick kills, but sacrifices any sort of durability. Also, did you know you can dual wield any (non-gun, non-long bow, non-crossbow) weapon? So for example you could carry a "2 handed sword" (remember, you can wield them in one hand, but they'll do less damage) AND a short bow, then mix and match Ranger and Grandmaster skills to become a jack of all trades ranged and melee character.

Or you might want to be an offensive support class (knight + paladin, or grandmaster + druid). Or maybe you want to just be a jack of all trades in everything, getting low level skills from all paths. The choices are endless :)

But again, that's kind of the beauty of this system... its up to the player base to search and find interesting combos, as opposed to being given a predictable path and knowing exactly what to expect. You CAN still take the predictable path if you want to make sure you get perfect synergy (you still get to choose how to skill up within each skill tree... you could theoretically skill up just a few abilities really high and skip the others)... you don't have to mix skill paths, but already the fact that you're wondering what kind of combos (if any) there are between classes means there will be a great bit more replayability in order to discover those combos - I hope at least ;)
